Such a beautiful John Martyn's song. "Sometimes a kind of madness is taking my place...." you're right John, that is you genius A beautiful version as well !
Funny because I was humming this to myself earlier and now, UA-cam offered me this without my asking. This song kind of sums up much of John's genius; combining romantic love, erotic love, confession of his own, dreadful '"madness", told with deceptive simplicity, all wrapped up in a slinky, sexy tune and played in a style uniquely his own. As I said below two years ago; not many people can pull off a John Martyn song as well as you have, here. Thank you.
"...till the cows come home". A phrase people used to use when the cows were still allowed to graze the pasture instead of being held prisoner in an industrial dairy unit of 5000 animals, none of which ever see the great outdoors until moved to a truck to be taken to the abbatoir. Beautiful music soothes our spirits as we face a world that's greedy, demented, violent, and detached-from-Nature and spiritual peace. FFS can't we just love one another and our planet? This music reminds me/ us of all that's possible if we turn on the BEST in ourselves and discover what's beautiful!
What John Martyn achieved with a strained, stoccato voice and punchy chopped tempos, few have imitated so well. An excellent rendition, Claire's nephew.
Je partage ces commentaires. Cette interprétation est bouleversante : elle apporte quelque chose de très personnel dans le chant et le jeu de guitare. Bel hommage à John Martyn.
Went to the concert in Bury St Eds last night, thought it was great. The group of you really captured the feel and spirit of John's amazing music and his sometimes less than wonderful behaviour!!

Of course the Martin D28 was the favorite John Martyn's guitar, if he played with a D55 Guild (l love the Guild) few years. It's funny, you play a party of *You Can Discover", like John played "Easy Blues", he would have appreciate your cover. Great slap and tapping 👌.
Hey Sam just stumbled across this, miss hearing your voice and songs you always blew me away. We played quite a lot with you when I played with dave gerard a while ago now! Hope your good -James
You are fantastic, Sam. Love this one and others you perform. You have sth different in your voice and that makes the song living it's other life, however, moving Martin's legacy forwards. Great performance!!!❤ Would love to hear more from you!
I saw a notification for this on my phone and thought "Ooh... This is going to be a treat!" Of course I was not disappointed. An exquisite rendition of one of my favourite John Martyn songs, nay, one of my most cherished songs of all. It takes a rare talent to cover John Martyn and straddle the line of making the song their own - your instrumental break was particularly delightful. Thank you so much for this - absolutely made my day! Very much looking forward to catching you live again when all of this is but a memory. Hope you can make it to Liverpool or Manchester.
