We were opening for them in the early 90's at the Amsterdam Melkweg. I was alone on the floor at the soundcheck and remember them doing this song and being completely blown away. At the time they were really shy, pale, skinny UK kids who damn near ducked behind a table when we came in to say hi. Lovely, down to earth blokes once we got to talk. I love their latest album to bits.
It's amazing how their voices have not changed a bit.
Saw them live a few months back. It's a little unfair how incredible they still sound. I'm still pretty envious of people who got to see them live in their heyday though.
+ObeIiskos Totally agreed with everything you just said. I hope that new material happens, but I was glad to see them even just once.
I'm old enough to be one of those lucky people! Saw them in early 90's in Belfast, supported by another great band at that time called Bleach. ONe of my favourite bands of all time. Yet to see them in their reincarnated state!
Belfast next month then? Bleach were from my home town, brilliant band, brutal live
They were more raw, with much more feedback and swirly pedals. They still put tingle down your spine live now (or at least the Nowhere tour did), so you're not missing out, it was just better then, as I was 18 or so!
They did a soundcheck with this song. I was the only one in the room except for the crew. It blew my mind.
Thanks KEXP! Amazing. One of my favorite songs.
My favourite Ride song
incredible song with masterful guitar interplay.
I think a round of applause is warranted to the elves at KEXP for posting videos on Christmas day! Thank you!
I used to jam this cassette so much back then. Hell, I still do.
Marry me😂❤
royal albert hall early 90s.one of the best days of my life
love ride , since 90
Love this song! Would like to see them live.
Loveeee it
coming from someone who loves nowhere ...this is better than the version on that album. Way better. I appreciate shoegaze vocal stylings being usually as laid back as the instrumentation...but this performance, which is more passionate and enthusiastic, is more fitting imo
That was just so incredibly good, nothing could prepare me, they definitely touched the clouds.
Love this always
Steve has aged well, still look the same as he did 30 years ago!
If i must die.... i want to hear this.... RIDE
They have our teen goth girl hearts forever
Very underrated band
Teen goth boys as well 😂
Holy crap, did they play Vapor Trails during their set?
yes
I really love this version, the vocal harmonies, the guitar effects, the drums, etc.. but it bothers me that the lyrics get flipped. It should be "she had dust on her hands from the sky". Nit pick, sorry.
Just heard they are doing a North American tour next year with the Charlatans. No shows within 1000 miles.
I flew 1200km to see them in Osaka in 2015 & it was like being transported back to 1990. You might not have too many more chances, go for it!
Am I the only one that makes me think of columbia when I listen to this
guitar nerd... what is the "thing" that Andy Bell use to play????
+Tommaso Gavazzi E-bow
+Tommaso Gavazzi it's called E-bow!
Thank you guys!!
Thanks! I was wondering that too!
They should sell hugs
