Being born deaf, this song was easily recognizable to me because of the drums and bass lines. I could "feel" the rhythm in my head and body. Imagine the day I had my cochlear surgery and could finally "HEAR" This amazing, hypnotic song! I still have hearing loss of 30% in my right ear, and my left is just a buzz. But I thank God I can really appreciate music!!

I grew up w/Led Zeppelin & the fact that so many young people still like them is AWESOME!! Who needs "Rap" when great music like this is still popular? I no longer weep for the future of our species!! You guys are WAY AHEAD of where we were then!
What's wrong with rap? Not all of it is about drugs, money and women. Rap is the most complex music to understand since its basically poetry to a cool beat. 2pac and Nas are examples. Not 2 chainz and lil wayne.
Ryan Bardalez It's nowhere near the most complex music, but it's a respectable genre in its own right, if you don't listen to crap rap in the radio that is.
I find it hilarious that you actually categorize the broad genre of rap into a single genre which you believe isn't music. "Rap" is many, many genres ranging from more rhythm/sample oriented (hip hop) to more vocal oriented rap (gangster rap is an example). You must be either 12 or trolling to throw away such a broad genre.
KASHMIR is undoubtedly my favorite EVER Led Zeppelin songs. If I could only ever hear one Led Zeppelin song again in my life, this would be the song I would choose. I just never get tired of it. ROCK ON FOREVER....LED ZEPPELIN!!
If one had to choose one and only one LZ song to keep and listen to again, over and over and over, undoubtedly it would have to be Kashmir, which is much, much better than LZ's Stairway to Heaven.
I have wicked nasty adhd and still been practicing a solo version almost every day for hours. Months go by, still tweaking the arrangement. Not bored just yet!
This song was written by and constructed by the members of Led-Zeppelin, each member brought something to this song, Jimmy Page said it was the only time he experienced fear while putting a song together.
@@WakeUpDead2012 Jimmry Page also said he thought the song to be rather spooky , and if you listen to it listening for it oh it's there, i as a soundman can hear where he was coming from.
That moment, when you're on a long car ride home at night and everything is calm, then suddenly you hear this song come on the radio and you turn the volume way up, roll down the windows and let your hair blow through the night wind. I've been there...once.
I used to do the same thing in my firebird back in corpus as a young man 78’- I would drive along the coast windows down- & blast Kashmir!! Happy days then - Now I sit with Elders!!🤔
Imagine being young when these songs first came out. I bet it was great with all these master pieces coming out all the time, just blowing your mind with every album release. The 70's provided such a great era of rock music
Me as well dude and I’m stumped! I am just really trying to put some stuff together and let it come to me as it’s supposed to because I do believe that I will be finding out what truly lies with in the world of music by just listening to things as the signs come to me. I’ll just kick back, relax, and listen to my butterflies in the wind! GOD BLESS EVERYONE AND EVERYTHING
I was raised on music like this and I'm proud to say my daughter is too! She's 5 and can name/recognize each member of The Beatles and always bobs her head with her eyes closed to any classic rock played. This music moves the soul in unexplainable ways
First time I've ever read the most incredible words with this song. What a presentation. The words are sublime. The black background perfect, the sound and mastering perfect. A+ on this presentation of Led Zeppelin's epic song.

Togetherness Put Their Soulful, Orchestration, and Wonderfully Beautiful Sounds into Our Lives during a time of unrest and Soulless Politicians....... Because WE APPRECIATED Ourselves and Those of The Same ERA.

It's not everyday you can find song writers like John Bonham, Robert Plant and Jimmy Page. I'm so grateful I have the opportunity to listen to a powerful song like this. It's one of a kind.
Mystical & sonic symbiosis of such majesty: it paints pictures with lyrical suggestions and otherworldly truths that I believe are the real reality…. Combined with the driving grace and pomp of that rumbling rhythm and memory then abracadabra….. magic
The Original heavy metal band, they traversed across mystical worlds and states of mind with their lyrics. I was 17 when their first tunes hit the airwaves in Los Angeles, and sent me out to the reaches of space. They are Unique and never will there be another like them. Between them and the Doors, the interiors of my mind were opened to the Big Questions.
***** they were the ORIGINAL heavy metal. Ask anyone who is a guitar player who was 15 when Zep first got air time on the radio. Get yourself educated, mister whatever.
Kashmir is Led Zeppelin's best song! 😍 Know what they say about first impressions? Well...this song was my first song. When I truly fell in love with Led Zeppelin.
Getting the Led out! Listened to this, and every Zeppelin song, every day as a kid when my big brothers would blast this on our huge JBL speakers (the size of a hutch)! Also thinking of my brother-in-law. Good memories! Rock on in heaven and hope you're playing drums with John Bonham! Rest in paradise.
I knew from the start that this song had a uniquely appealing construction. It combines different rhythmic meters: the guitar riff is in triple meter, while the vocal is in quadruple meter. That drum tempo gets you moving in a different way. And then there is the repetition of those descending orchestral notes.

Keep in mind that the key of A has always been a key of grand and epic subjects. And there is a Spirituality about A major as well, because of that disconnection or "separation" from the self. I was brought here by Prince's "7," the other prophetic songs in the key of A major.
I Believe I may qualify as a true lifelong LZ fan, Jimmys playing on Over the Hills & Far Away on the am radio circa '74 inspired me to play guitar which ive done professionally for over 20 years, his playing the biggest influence on mine- but i finally read the lyrics after 40 years of hearing it, & was pleasantly surprised, I think one of the most poignant lines is ' Tryna find, Tryna find where Ive been...." to me indicates a reference to a belief in a past life experience in that region- ....imo...
The lyrics on most websites say it's "tryin to find the way I feel", not "tryin to find where I've been". I totally hear the latter and so does this video.

I grew up w/Led Zeppelin & the fact that so many young people still like them is AWESOME!! Who needs "Rap" when great music like this is still popular?
I no longer weep for the future of our species!!
You guys are WAY AHEAD of where we were then!
You Guys are AMAZING!!!!
(My boys like this too-I raised 'em right )
What's wrong with rap? Not all of it is about drugs, money and women. Rap is the most complex music to understand since its basically poetry to a cool beat. 2pac and Nas are examples. Not 2 chainz and lil wayne.
"Rap" and "Music" don't belong together in the same sentence.
I could listen to this song for ever!!!!
This song was written by and constructed by the members of Led-Zeppelin, each member brought something to this song, Jimmy Page said it was the only time he experienced fear while putting a song together.
Wonder why?
@@WakeUpDead2012 the felt the presence of God
@@WakeUpDead2012 Jimmry Page also said he thought the song to be rather spooky , and if you listen to it listening for it oh it's there, i as a soundman can hear where he was coming from.
You bet! And that is the first attraction!!
Who was it really inspired by?...
That moment, when you're on a long car ride home at night and everything is calm, then suddenly you hear this song come on the radio and you turn the volume way up, roll down the windows and let your hair blow through the night wind. I've been there...once.
That is so apropos because the original title was driving through Kashmir if I’m not mistaken!
I used to do the same thing in my firebird back in corpus as a young man 78’- I would drive along the coast windows down- & blast Kashmir!! Happy days then - Now I sit with Elders!!🤔
Careful!
That's my idea of a perfect night
The debate is over LED ZEPPELIN.
Greatest bands of all time.
Imagine being young when these songs first came out. I bet it was great with all these master pieces coming out all the time, just blowing your mind with every album release. The 70's provided such a great era of rock music
Yes it was the greatest
You got that right ❤
It's like they were years ahead of their time....amazing...wow great music ...never really really listen to the lyrics until now ....
Yes. Prophetic
@@amywood7082 agreed!
Some of the best lyrics throughout rock history!
Always a different feeling when i listen to this song. For decades. Timesless piece. Bravo ⚘
First time I ever heard this song a few years ago, I got goosebumps, still do to this day, the power it wields, exceptional job Led Zeppelin
First time I heard this song was 47 years ago. Still fills my heart
No better band or musicians in the world. Absolutely the best! And I'm 62. I bought my first album when I was 11. Stairway to Heaven.
I'm 67. Every one of their best songs (allofem) bring some great memory to me! Love their music!!!
I'm playing along on guitar in a cool: D A D G B D low to high tuning... Such a fun song to play. I just wish I could sing it as I play it!
I love alot of songs, but this one is the only one I can have on repeat and not get bored of. A true masterpiece
These individuals, musicians, men were undoubtedly Ahead Of Their Time, Drugs played No Part of Their Musical Genius.... Togetherness Put Their Soulful, Orchestration, and Wonderfully Beautiful Sounds into Our Lives during a time of unrest and Soulless Politicians....... Because WE APPRECIATED Ourselves and Those of The Same ERA.
"Heroes get remembered, Legends never die."
That's exactly who Led Zeppelin is; They are LEGENDS!!!
Thanks for providing lyrics. This song is like a poem/prayer, along the lines of Kahil Gibran.
Bubba & I are 68 years wise, I am a traveler or both time & space but I have been hanging out with Buddha these last couple of days. Guilt free, student of life
It's not everyday you can find song writers like John Bonham, Robert Plant and Jimmy Page. I'm so grateful I have the opportunity to listen to a powerful song like this. It's one of a kind.
saw em in Berkeley '71 - I'm still vibrating :)
Between them and the Doors, the interiors of my mind were opened to the Big Questions.
did drugs help?
Cameron Jones
They don't make good Acid anymore
They weren't really heavy metal, but whatever.
***** they were the ORIGINAL heavy metal. Ask anyone who is a guitar player who was 15 when Zep first got air time on the radio. Get yourself educated, mister whatever.
Anna Lisa
I have asked plenty of people, and Black Sabbath is always the one mentioned as the first heavy metal band. LZ was hard rock.
Kashmir is Led Zeppelin's best song! 😍 Know what they say about first impressions? Well...this song was my first song. When I truly fell in love with Led Zeppelin.
i played this piece in an orchestra
@Lori W...Amaizing....I have not heard this song in years....it takes me back to my teenage years...Im glad you can enjoy it....god bless
The best Zepplin song ever. So much feel and poetic mastery in the marriage of lyrics and the music.
Bonzo never gets enough credit for tearing up the drums with this one.
Led zeppelin soothes my soul
It doesn't get much better than this.
This band! This song! ❤️❤️❤️
I remember this song on those summer nights, miles of desert
a joint and this music. Highschool
in the 70s was king
This song transcends time and space.... An all time favorite
I knew from the start that this song had a uniquely appealing construction. It combines different rhythmic meters: the guitar riff is in triple meter, while the vocal is in quadruple meter. That drum tempo gets you moving in a different way. And then there is the repetition of those descending orchestral notes.
I'm 2 years old and Led Zeppelin is my favourite band. I must have a good taste in music.
congrats on being 7 years old
Lol
8 yo now
Radical
How can anybody put a thumbs down on a masterpiece like this? This is not only music is this spirituality!
best song in the history of the universe!
Bohemian Rhapsody.
@@shashankdas4111 A lot of phrases from the book of Revelation. And all chronological. Jesus as bright as the sun shine up in my face. 7 stars of churches. Talk of song. Not a word heard I could relate. The 24 elders sing sings. The 144000 sing new songs. As I scan this wasted land. As I return with the 2nd coming.
Neil - Check the yt clip from an interview with Grant Cameron: The Modern Music UFO Connection. The song gets a new meaning....Cool!
Also, Neil Young's - After the Gold Rush.

my all-time all inclusive favorite song by Zep!!! it is everything! OMG that drum beat and the lyrics...love it

So true!
This song was the background to my senior year of high school (1989). Cranking this song at top volume, driving with my best friend, talking about girls, the future, life. Even though it was 14 years old by then, it is and always will be timeless
The best I have found with clear lyrics. Thanks.
Julio Correa too bad many of them are wrong
Rock music fused with an orchestra?!!? How dope is that??!
Ikr!
true cool af right?
Orchestra? Nooooo, they played instrucments, and very well back in the day. Come to the dark side, millennial. ;)
Dude, gotta check out Trans-Siberian orchestra. Mostly Christmas music, but not completely. Beethoven's last night. One of the best albums ever made.
orchestra is more queens style

I'm so glad I was a teenager in the 70's. The best music ever recorded.
I was born in 1936, and the music of your generation is still my favorite. I raised teenagers through that era, also grandchildren who love it too❤

One of the most perfect songs. Just brilliant.
I am in awe of this Led Zep track.....sat in a spa in seventh heaven listening to this...xxxx
As a Queen fan, i know these lyrics:
Oh father of the four winds, fill my sails, across the sea of years
With no provision but an open face along the straits of fear
My Shangri - La beneath the summer moon, i will return again
Sure as the dust that floats high on June, when movin' through Kashmir
*Innuendo*
REMEMBER THAT....XO
Been loving Zeppelin since the late 60’s. While everyone rocks to the music they were known for their lyrics based on experiences. Truly the best ever.
God works in many ways, music is the favorite way to use. Songwriters are messengers of God, sometimes they get the message perfect. Kashmir is the name of the change to the 4th density that we are all just about to go through good luck God bless you
I feel that drum beat in my soul.
🤟🏼
"I am a traveler of both time and space"
Natalia Patricia Salzarulo , I have a time machine , it's a 66 Chevelle , it can't really take you back to the past , but it can take you into the future really fast , all the while listening to Led Zeppelin on my cassette player , so I am a traveler of both time and space
To be where I have been.
Across the sea of years🎶

Sadly 5 years ago my mom passed away. But thanks to her and my sister I have a lot of Led Zeppelin! Stairway to Heaven and Kashmir was one of my mom's and my all-time favorites. And those who were her Memorial songs and every time I hear them fond memories of her jamming out and singing to the songs come to mind
This song is my second favorite. It's not the music but the lyrics. A person can freely go to the other side through Astro projection, meditation, or drugs that have DMT. Once someone has gone to the other side, they have no fear of death.
Led Zeppelin, is my favorite band, because they are the most spiritual band.
Why can't rock be this good anymore🤔
Because you don’t have to work for it. Computers make everything “perfect.” Takes the life out of music.
It doesn't get much better than this.
best song ever in the history of mankind!
I'm so glad I was a teenager in the 70's. The best music ever recorded.
You have to be in that road in southern Morocco to understand the mystical moment that led to time and space to stand still for moments to inspire Jimmy Page and Robert Plant to come up with a masterpiece of song.
Whatever you believe you saw I can promise you, you are wrong 👋🏼
I lived in Indio, California. I can almost relate 😂
Except they had never been to Kashmir. Go figure.
Happy to be 3 month and 5 days and listening to Led Zeppelin. I discovered it myself and wish i was born later

Your son was an angle as God welcome the one in heaven.
Four friends are sitting in a parked car with a Muntz 8 track...watching a street light and trees...the smoke was Hawaiian, the beer from Colorado...the song of Kashmir was an open door to another world...all we could do was look in and smile...
I love this song so much! I It's amazing how well it still stands with time.
I am 61 this year. Grew up with Zep. Is this one of the greatest guitar and vocal songs ever?

Greatest hard rock songs without a guitar solo:
1. Kashmir
2. Immigrant Song
I wouldn’t say Kashmir is “hard rock”

I think classic rock fans deserve to be so upset in disbelief with this generation of music. Long live Zeppelin.
Keep in mind that the key of A has always been a key of grand and epic subjects. And there is a Spirituality about A major as well, because of that disconnection or "separation" from the self. I was brought here by Prince's "7," the other prophetic songs in the key of A major.
Try breakfast in America. Pink Floyd Animals, us and them.
