Definitely don't use it for freezers that go -4F or lower. I bought 4 of these. They will accurately read freezer temps lower than this (mine go to -14F) but there was a really shortsighted decision by the govee team that sets a lower limit on alerts at -4F. Since a lot of freezers fluctuate between that range, you will get constant alerts all day. There is a hack to report the wrong temperature by "calibration", but that's only just making it report the wrong temperature. Even with that, it doesn't always work depending how much your freezers go out of range. Other than freezer use, it's a great product.

Do you know if you can use this for smart home automations in the Alexa app? Example, lets say my room reaches over 78 degrees F and I want it to automatically turn on my Govee smart fan. Is there a way to do so?
There is a setting in the Govee app called Auto Run. Go to Command, scroll down to Auto Run. When a condition is met, an action can be taken. It only works with wifi devices. I haven’t tried it yet but technically it should work!
Great Video! how often do you need to change the batteries? I am looking at placing one of these in my literal crawl space and don't want to have to constantly go down there to do it.
Thanks! I got mine on Jan 11, 2022 and it’s still running on more than 75% on the included batteries. I’m storing it in a location that is between 15°-25°C. Even in a colder space, the battery will last you long enough!

It placed it in my storage locker to monitor the humidity of my seasonal clothing storage and crafts supplies. The battery that came included is still going strong after 8 months!
Would it be fine to use on a balcony? (Shaded and safe from rain.) Specs say "indoor" but I wonder. EDIT: I live in a mild winter region. Yearly extremes -10 to +30C.
It would nice if you talked about setting an alarm when it goes above or below a set temperature. How does it send you an alarm? Email? What happens if the it triggers the alarm and you are away?
i bought this device for a green house to check humidity when i leave for a day or 2 but once I'm not connected via bluetooth i receive no info any more. am I setting it wrong? can you pls assist? thx
Hi micaela. In the Govee home app, once you select the paired hygrometer, there is a cog wheel on the top right so for the device settings menu. Click that and scroll all the way down to wifi settings. In there, enter the home wifi settings that is supposed to reach your green house and the device. Note that you can only do this if you are in Bluetooth range of the device and the device is in your wifi range. This should solve your issue!
I have had this device in my boat last year and it worked perfect. Howeven, I haven't been using it in the Summer. And now that I want to set it up in my boat again, I cannot get it to connect with the app on my mobile. The blue light is flashing approx every 4 seconds but the bluetooth on my mobile cannot find it! Anybody with the same problem?
@@AndChillTech I have done that. Their reply: "Try new battery, delete the app, power cycle the phone and reconnect". I have tried that as well. No help

Hmmm I'm not too sure. I know that you can set temperature/humidity/any parameter extreme notifications on your phone. I'm assuming you'd have to not have silence mode on your phone for it to ring.
You can store up to 2 years at a time on the cloud (in the app) and you can export it to your computer for free to make sure you don’t loose it after the 2 years. After the 2 years, it continues storing data but deletes the data from 2 years prior.
Yes if the thermo hygrometer is connected to wifi, you can measure the temperature from your phone from anywhere in the world, as long as you are connect to the internet

It's not advertised to support HomeKit and in my experience, I wasn't able to find a work around yet to make it.

The app send you a notification on your phone, even if you are away as long as the hygrometer and your phone are connected to the internet.

Yes you can! I use it to monitor the humidity and temperature in my storage room. It warms me when they are too hot too cold and too dry
