I live in Adelaide in South Australia. My brother lives in Melbourne, and whenever I go to visit him we get around by inter suburban trains and trams. The Melbourne CBD is crisscrossed by tram lines, and all tram travel in the CBD is FREE.

Don’t mention Adelaide lol. My son has just moved to Adelaide and he loves it, but I miss him terribly. My daughter went there years ago re work and loved Adelaide. She said I’d love it, it reminded here of a lovely country town. All my family here in Melbourne so I can’t leave, but - I just might visit my son 😊

Perth is the equivalent of travelling to another country in Europe lol. Ah yes, my sister went to Perth for a holiday 30 years ago. Met a wonderful man, married him and they are still there. They used to come to Melbourne every 2 years or so, but Covid stopped that and haven’t seen them since - ah, but the phone gets a lot of use lol

Melbournian here. The sandwich thing is not a trend. Melbourne is the foodies capital and that stuff is just common, not a "trend". Temperature is C so 25 degrees Celsius is a magic day. 4 seasons in a day? Rarely, other cities state Melbourne is always raining but we get less than Sydney and much of Queensland. Public transport for inner city is good, outer suburbs not so much. Sydney's inner city transport is better. The actual city is easy to traverse, it is basically a square divided into blocks. Restaurants/theatre are about the only reasons I go into Melbourne, a suburban shopping mall is warmer/cooler and more convenient. We have huge road and public transport works going right now so when finished I hope it reduces travel time. You'll get a like for this one, Tonia.

Hi, just a tip with Ashleighs reverse culture shocks video, only the first half is about that. The last part is a vlog from her travels to Vermont. So you can skip the second part of her video which will make it shorter for you 🙂

I lived in Melbourne for ten years and loved the seasons as you wrap up for it if it's cold and the Summer is beautiful as it's not too hot. I now live in Perth Western Australia and the heat is absolutely terrible with not a lot to do....can't wait to go back to Victoria where there are mountains and beautiful scenery not just Sand and endless heat !!!!!

Each to their own but I have a number of people move out of the North, most to escape the humidity and sun. They have had skin cancer and were sick of everyday having to put on sun tan lotion and spend most of the time indoors to escape the heat. Great to go out without having to wring out the tea shirt with sweat.

The quick method for F to C. Double the number and add 30. eg, 25C x 2 = 50 + 30 = 80F. Hope that was a help. We all struggled when we changed to the metric system. This simple equation is what we all used. Regards from Melbourne. p.s We spoke yesterday about Puckapunyal. My dad came out with Tanks that Oz bought from England. He was a tank commander and was stationed here in Victoria at Puckapunyal.

Melbourne & Sydney are great places to visit, but I could never live there. I live in Adelaide which is a lot smaller & is just the right size for me. Although we have just over 1.4 million people it feels more like a big country town. I`ve been here for 25 years & I love the climate & lifestyle. Tonia your cat is such a cool dude. 👍😊😺

The reputation for the changeable weather is usually from people visiting in spring. In spring the weather is changeable as the weather warms up and you get competing lows and highs. They seem to forgive other cities and come back with "that is unusual for us" comment. They do know that Brisbane has been washed out for a lot of years and Sydney has homes with mould growing due to the amount of rain they have had? Melbourne has one of the biggest Tram systems in the world. While other cities ripped out their trams , melbourne kept its.

Adelaide had 4 seasons today, I left for work at 6:15am wearing a T-shirt it was really balmy and nice this morning, but by the time I was coming home at 5pm it was blowing a gale and I froze waiting for a bus. Was supposed to be 25C and it probably was but it couldn't have been more than 12C when I left work.
Think she means 25C Melbourne never gets down to 25F , it can be bloody cold there at night but to get the really cold temps you need to go into the Victorian High Country. I wouldn't want to live in Melbourne or Sydney, way too busy for me and Sydney is getting too close to the Tropic of Capricorn so gets a lot of humidity and rain. Melbourne is nice if you like the nightlife.
Hardworking? LMAO Half the country is on the dole or a pension lol

I've always wanted to go to Australia. It's such a long plane ride. Melbourne..which i say wrong.. I thought it was pronounced mel born..lol..
I live in a town of 50,000 people.. so i don't like cities. My town is really big to me. I'm from a smaller town, with lots of agriculture and almost everything closed at 10 pm. Here more things are open until 3am and few things 24 hours. But covid did stop a lot of 24 hrs places.
I hate when I have to go to the major city that's 1 hour and 30 mins away for my sons eye appointment.
