Also free coaching means govt has to interfere, leading to lesser revenue for these coaching institutes and finally destruction of free economy concept. He clearly mentioned SC , STs and obc consist of 70% of population but the reservation is just 50%... the rest of 50% are clearly 'reserved' for general people, but that's the case only when you see it that way... Secondly, 10% reservation covers 95% of the population !! Still 40% remains, that being said, there's no provision like that those who've applied for the cap of 10% quota won't be able to get a seat outside of it!! It simply means, 30% of population is ruling 50% of seats!!! You know what it means, means that there should be 70% reservation for SC ST and OBCs... That's how there can be fair play...!!!

Good discussion. I still have some doubts. There is no exclusive state lists for general category castes in many states. If an economically weaker candidate of general category wants to apply for a job under state public service commission what is the requirements he/she has to qualify.
The current legislation is for the reservation in central services and educational institutions. So the some criteria won't be applicable to the states, for state services and educational institutions one will have to go through as to what states may specify.

sc st obc population is not 70 percent. It is a big myth based on false census done in 1930. The new data based on national survey says that obc r only around 30 to 35. Most of them r classified arbitrarily based on vote banks without any regard to real backwardness criteria. Economic criteria and location of ppl where they live r only criteria which decides their access to upward mobility.
We asked them to remove reservation, they came up with a new one. I found the 8 lakh rupee threshold a big mistake, it must be around 4 or 5 lakhs so that the real needy can be benefitted. NO HARD FEELINGS. #PEACE

The only problem faced by children of socially advanced castes who are genuinely economically backward is that they are not able to afford education to the fullest level. First of all it will not gonna benefit the economically weaker section because the cap is 8 lakh. Now a person who earns 66000 per month is equivalent to person who earns 10000 per month. And the fruits of this 10% reservation will be taken by a person earning 66000 per month because he has much better facilities and can prepare well for govt jobs. *This is just a vote bank Act to cover 96% peoples and not at all for economically Weaker section otherwise the cap would be 3 lakh approx*

Now a person who earns 66000 per month is equivalent to person who earns 10000 per month.
And the fruits of this 10% reservation will be taken by a person earning 66000 per month because he has much better facilities and can prepare well for govt jobs.
