Agreed, duck tape is good only as a temporary repair on fabric. The small kit of stick on patches appear to be a far superior solution. Old school folks (translate that, old guys) might want to stitch around the patch back at home base for extra strength and then waterproof the repair so the stitching will not leak. Please keep us updated on those patches, will they endure the washing machine for many washing cycles? Did you wipe your blade with vaseline or other food safe product to prevent further rusting? DIY and repair videos are some of our favourites. We prefer GrandMa's idea to "buy it new and make it do." The trick to making things last is maintenance!
