I just caught up. I am really enjoying this show. I like how in many scenes everything is slightly out of focus except for the faces of the actors. Giving the subconscious meaning that seems apparent is not clear at all.
I’m enjoying this so far, I like the San Francisco background and the sneaky nature of the storytelling. Sophie really has to rely on her intuition and wit to figure out what’s going on. Hoping the twist play off, super glad Gugu is finally getting to lead a tv series.
Hadn’t even heard of this, very intrigued based on your review! Will definitely be checking this one out! Big fan of Oliver Jackson-Cohen, too. He was excellent in the Hauntings of Hill House and Bly Manor.
I have not watched a lot of Apple TV series. Last year I watched Truth Be Told with Octavia Spencer, and that was great, it was focused, it progressed throughout the episodes, it put all the pieces together, you felt it was worth your time. The other series I caught about 3 weeks ago was Bad Sisters. I binged watch all the episodes in 2 days, incredible series. Again you felt like this series progressed and that the story was going somewhere. This was probably one of the best series I had seen in a few years. This series, Surface, well it struggled, it just kept going all over the place, and the writing was a mess. I almost gave up watching it after Episode 3, and I wish I had stopped there. After I watched all 8 episodes in 2 days, the only thing I am thinking is that's almost 8 hours of my life I won't get back. The series makes some progress with the writing, and then it back-slides into the same subject matter over and over again. I guess I was hoping that in the last 1 of 2 episodes, the writing and direction of this series would progress and improve, I was wrong. Just because it's on Apple TV doesn't mean it's worthy of my time. Seems like Surface is much more style, glitz and pretty people in a beautiful city, and not enough substance and very poor writing. Next time I will read a few reviews of any Apple TV Series, before I invest the time watching something else. Sheesh, beyond disappointing. Sink or Swim - this series definitely sank to the bottom. I strongly disagree with the reviewer, with his statement that this series in very engaging - it's not. But I do agree with his comment that it feels like not a lot has been accomplished, and that's applicable to the entire 8 episodes. Anyone else reading this - Don't waste your time on this series.
I’d never seen this actress in anything until the Loki series and thought she was pretty good then I watched The Girl Before on HBO max which was very very good and she was fantastic in addition to try other 2 or 3 main characters so now that your giving this a green light I’m gonna go for it. I definitely trust Apple TV +. The quality of most of the programs are outstanding!!
Hi Chris. Started watching Remind me of the Undoing. We kind of think we know what’s going on. But not really. I won’t surprise me if it is what looks like. Enjoying the mistery . !
Hey, great detailed review, but gotta disagree on a few points. While the cinematography, and story line are well done, there’s too many flaws to keep me engaged. Cliche dialog (a character says ‘look at me’ in every episode), strange depictions of San Francisco (uncrowned public transit) inconsistent editing (like when everyone keeps asking each other if they have a drink in the restaurant and party scenes). Too many scenes had us laughing (deprivation chamber, art gallery party, hotel rest room encounter) where we couldn’t relate to the main character’s decisions or motivations. Like many streaming shows, if you can’t find the hook, the rest falls apart. In Blackbird, most of the detractors couldn’t tune into Huasers performance, had issue with the rest of the show like the ensemble and continuity. Same here, where the story twists and camera work are excellent, they aren’t enough to make me connect to the characters due to the stiff acting and thin dialogue.
@@fedepetit same, if all of the dream scenes where she fell off a horse were only lead-up’s to a season 2, then it was a sad payoff. Also in the last or second to last episode, I think they leave and come back to their own house 3 times in one night, and each time they look so surprised at each other when they return, it was as confusing as it was comical.
Uh ... no. Crappy script with lame dialogue, inept direction, constant "shaky cam" in every scene, poorly paced editing, cliched premise, generically beautiful people in generically beautiful settings. Bleh. I just couldn't care.

Born and raised in San Fran and she literally ran 100 miles a day the way it hopped locations
Wow! This looks good. I love these actors. Thanks for your review. I will check it out. 👍

I lost interest in the last episode. I really don’t care what will happen to Sophie/Tess. It’s a convoluted mess that leads nowhere. I wasted my time.

Another S is SEE
I was just about to mention See. I love it!
the apple series are looking like soap operas; the same subject only changes one detail
i am tired
it's turning netflix where few things are saved

Yeah, I agree, this series was a complete and total waste of my time.
Mbatha is pronounced as 'Mba Ta', South African surname not American 😂
