Thank you. I just purchased a junior guitar kit and the neck is not fitting the pocket properly and it leans back more than 14 degrees which I need to fix as well. I am not talking about the head of the guitar and it's degrees but the neck really angles a lot backwards. So I need to raise it to be more flush with the body . You gave me some real good advice and ideas for fixing these problems I mentioned.

Nothing about the end of that neck is speced to fit that neck socket on the body. They do not go together.

I think if the pocket shape had a tight fit to the neck heel shape, you might have gotten away with veneer as a far as the scale length. But as it is, it came out a bit too far because the neck didn't seat fully inside.

Why there and not in a pocket hole??

Either way works fine. If you are using heat melt glue, it's probably easier to apply the the heel. If using CA glue with a kicker, then in the pocket works too.

snarky jokes with laughter about one's wife are stupid and not needed. An iron that can be ruined would work and a clothes iron may not be that ...
