Hi Laura, I heard you and Ernie's program yesterday at the Lapeer SDA church, both am and pm. (I had to leave the evening show a little bit early because of a commitment to my wife). You all did a great job. This was perhaps my favorite song of all of the music performed, lovely melody and thoughtful lyrics. I personally thought that the morning program was much more moving than the evening. ( I was the older fellow with a beard and I'm just about the sole person in the church who is always encouraging folks to get involved in special music. I play guitar, violin, sing and do some song writing, arranging.) I do both spiritual and secular music based on the principles of what I call the "school of home cooking." Everything from scratch, do it by hand = limited technology, chew on what's in season, limit what's canned and frozen, don't follow too many recipes, toss in a healthy amount of seasoning." (so that it doesn't get tossed out and trampled on.) So this is what I want to leave you with. I realize that you are a polished musician, with good song writing skills, have a classical background, and know tons of other musicians with a similar background. Ernie is not. That's OK because he has much less experience than you in this "performance" craft. He does well to share his testimony, and the "timber" story was a good one. I would suggest that you try to work him into the musical act a little more, even if that means that you focus on some music that is a little less majestic and orchestrated and canned. It may be enriching if you come up with 3-4 dual-performance tunes that are a dramatic representation of your mutual love for each other. They could be songs that are simpler, more well known, perhaps more lively, even less pious. People LOVE harmony. May the Lord bless you in your ministry.

It's funny you mention that as we are currently working on integrating more music with him into the concert. We actually have two songs we do together (He plays guitar) that come at the end of our evening program, but you may have left before we got to them. We are working one more that we can add, but we are very limited on time to practice. Hopefully we can add another to the program soon. :D Thanks for your feedback! Perhaps one day you will be so popular you will be swamped, so enjoy the moment. So I just got off your website and ordered two CD's Going Home and Redeemed. Yes, my comments were inspired by what you might call balance. It appears that (based on the sparkly video above) that Ernie adds a lot of "Fire" to the partnership, which sort of compliments your musical "forte" which seems to be "grace". So if you want that fire to shine you might cultivate him a bit more as a musical partner. The violin by Josh also adds a swath of burning passion. I think if you could somehow bottle that and capture it in live shows it would be wonderful. Carry on with your quest. One day you may have a family and this will be harder to juggle. Shalom.
