This is one of my favorite songs. It gets me every time. My grandfather smoked 2 packs of cigarettes and a case of beer every day. Worked 10-12 hr days 6 days a week. Raised 6 kids. 5 that weren't biologically his. And then raised 3 grandkids. When he got his leg cut off he was mad he couldn't work anymore. He died on my 28th bday. He was my best friend. Love u grandpa
One of the many reasons i love these guys is because of this. They are real and honest and show us everything and he could of walked of stage but he decided to stay on stage and show us how he was feeling. Also Zach half way through could see he was struggling and heard him say "I got you" he hardly left his side after that. And the talking at the end Barry hardly ever speaks but he did so Brent wouldnt have to.
Ive seen shine down more than any other artist ever! I don't mind one bit either!!!! This dude can wail, And live.... Omfg what a show. Hats off to THE MOST UNDERRATED ARTIST IN THE HISTORY OF UNDERRATEDNESS...

The more I listen to this song, the better I like it, and the meaning is not lost on this end. I can't listen to TAPS without shedding a tear - WAY to many military funerals. 😢
I thought that too. You could clearly see from the begining he was uncomfortable from the way he just stood there. Not just that but everything about him changed as soon as he knew what song Zach was playing.

Also i admire anyone, not just him, who can stand on a stage and bare their soul and stay on the stage while being at their most vulnerable. He could have walked of but chose not to.
