Might have been mentioned, but there are multiple rumors floating around that Find Item has a 1% per level hidden synergy from Find Potion on the 2.4 PTR. Didn't test it myself.
I got a horker using WW with P topaz Shako, P topaz Skullders, Laying of hands, String of ears, War Travs, Mara's, Life leach rare ring, Dwarf Star, Dual Lighsabers Main weopons and Dual Spirit Swords for the secondarys for buffing and horking with and my merc is act 2 Might aura with Tals mask, Reapers Toll non eth and treachery but I also have ran him with duress he doesn't really shatter to many corpses with duress so I don't mind it
Items I use: LoH, Highlord, Arreats Cham'd, Gores, Enigma, Dual Grief, 5ll BK, dual leech ring. swap to isted babas. 400+ mf with charms and you dont need more than that imo, 600 gf. Travs runs under 1 min. seems to work well xD
Fantastic video! One other ability that takes away find item is sanctuary aura... so using law bringer is a no which is a shame because it's otherwise a good sword against the ghosts.
I just tried azurewrath whirlwind on arcane sanctuary ghosts and was able to get a rune from using find item. What exactly is it you talking about? I cant see sanctuary aura messing up with find item tbh…
@@chickenfingr600 To elaborate: Sanctuary Aura does Knock Back vs Undead. Which Ghosts count as. The problem unique to Arcane Sanctuary is if you push the Ghosts off of the platform they not only will not drop items but if you're a Find Item Barbarian you can't get to their corpses.
I think a lot of Horker barbs tend to rely on their merc for damage. Specifically because they want to use 2x alibaba swords for extra Magic Find and Gold find.

I thought Find Item worked even at high levels? I was curious so I tried editing cube formulas in 1.13 single player to add +50 to Item Find on charms. Item Find still worked for me at Lv99? Maybe you were just unlucky since the highest chance is 60%. Of course, after testing, I reverted my txt and sold the charms. I didn't loot the items either.

I have also had several people comment to me similar. "If you can help me with something that would be great and I find item stopped working I'm hitting every spot I can trying to get some advice. It's at lvl 25 ( Base lvl 20 )" " removed all bonuses and it's working 30% if I don't swap weapons. I swap to gull w/+100% mf and heart carver with +4 find item bonus 🤬... @@GGMentor Since I hadn't played a Frenzy barb in a while and I didn't notice the game was on players 8, I died to cows twice. I forgot Frenzy sucked for swarms-gotta use Double Swing after building the frenzy stacks up. Cow King + Unique with Conviction up while running frenzy really put me in my place, -13 resists. I geared up a poor-frenzy barb with: arreats, enigma, botd eZerk, death eZerk, string, draculs, war trav, 2x nagelring, maras, anni, torch. I tried the swaps of 2x Heart Carver & Heart Carver + Gull. I did a couple rounds of cows each and found that despite Lv 34/38 (56/57%) for an item, it felt like the ranges were quite spread. For both of them, I'd go as low as 20-25% chance for an item or as high as 85% chance for an item. On average, I felt like I got an item about 45-50% of the time though. I also tried 2 rounds of not switching Lv 30 (55%) and felt I got an item about 40% of the time. After that, I did 2 runs of Cows using 2 cheated +10 Find Item small charms. With Lv 55 (59%), it started with 5 successes and then 12 fails from the first pile of bodies. The very next pile, I got 14 successes without a single fail. The run proceeded with a range but it felt like I got around 50-55% of the corpses to give me an item. Thinking about programming, I came to a possibility that the Random Number Generater (RNG) is seeded with time every 1-3 seconds for Find Item. This would explain why I can see 6 failures in a row despite having a 59% success rate or even the more than 12 successes in a row with a 55% success rate. Remembering when I had to travel a short distance for various corpses that were spread out in tristram for Wirt's Legs, I feel that it was definitely closer to the listed chances. Thinking about other aspects of D2 RNG, the chance columns from cubemain.txt come to mind. For those unaware, you can edit txt files to change (mod) the game and cubemain has output for 3 items. For each output, there are 5 sets of mod/chance/param/min/max columns for adding bonuses to items. The chance columns are often left blank for 100% success but if you were to put 50 in the column, then half of the time you use the formula, the mod should occur. Unfortunately, the chance column seems to be tied to some fixed variable in the item used. This means if you say, "useitem" rather than create a new item, and the chance for it to receive the boost is not 100%, then if it works once, it will always work, and likewise if it fails once, it will never work. There was no fun the day I tried editing that column to spice up single player with a bunch of expensive 1% chance stuff. (ie: 1% chance to add {Conviction aura Lv+1, +4 req level} to a Hellfire Torch at the cost of 1 organset, 1 token, 1 soj, and 1 rainbow facet)

Find Item starts to drop off after level 13 giving +1% chance to find every 2 levels after level 13. Find Potion for every skill point gives +1% to Find Item because of the You're better off going 13 into Find Item and 7 into Find Potion. You get more benefit for doing so especially if you need Full Rejuvenation Potions.
In hell cold damage can shatter yes, but in my experience unless it's a freezes target effect it rarely shatters. Because of the 33% duration penalty. Basically the monster has to die while under the extremely short cold duration effect. That being said some barbs go to the extremes and avoid a y and all forms of cold damage.
Does anyone know if they changed the the player count effecting the chance to get the loot? Cuz last use playing on my barb i was getting alot of elite item drops, now im just going back onto the barb have 75% chance to hork items an 695 mf and i dont seem to get anywhere near as much as i use to get last year. At trav btw
So you have a couple aspects going on here with find item. #1 is the chance of a drop to happen at all. #2 is the magic find bonus applied to the drop. So if you have like 1000% mf but nothing drops then the MF is pointless. However if you have 100% drop rate but your MF is 0% the drops will likely also be Garbage. The general idea here is to balance them so that you have a good drop rate and decent mf. 200% mf is an acceptable level for anyone. Anything over 200% gets hit pretty hard with diminishing returns. So I would definitely shoot for bare minimum 200% As for find item drop percentage the more the better, but if you fall below 200% mf to get higher drop chances you are falling into bad territory

What happens if someone kill a monster and a barb hork the corpse? does it count with the mf of the first who first kill the monster or will it use the mf from the barbarian?

Yes magic find effects the items that pop out of the corpses as does gold find.

yes, uniques, rares, magic, runes, gems, gold, all of the above. It functions just like a monster kill and applies your magic find and gold find.

if you could only max 1 skill, would it be better to max find item, or go 1 hard point in find item and max find potion?

any idea of a list of sup uniqes cant be horkd find item ?
All uniques can be potentially horked it depends on the monster.
Terror zones offer monsters that are above 87 which is the highest TC class
