It doesn’t matter who coaches the Cowboys as long as Jerra is the GM. They will do what they have done for the last 29 years, lose big when the season is on the line.
No championship runs in sight, but at least every week Jerreh will provide you a fun down-home quote about pigs frolicking in the mud or some bullshit. 🤣
But that's a good thing. It's amazing to me that after 30 years there are still people who don't realize the point of Dallas is to be a joke. Embrace it!
Yes, we are. Idk why Jerry can't just sit there, be rich AF, and just own the Cowboys. Robert Kraft doesn't do anything but pay for happy endings. Even he had the guts to dump Mayo this season. Jerry Jones doesn't have the guts to fire McCarthy. Just like he didn't have the guts to fire Jason Garrett.
Jerry likes the drama. By waiting until the last minute, he gets to be in the headlines longer. Totally horrible way to operate, especially when it comes to star player contracts and the salary cap.
@@LdyVder why not both? It's both. Jerry's a flat out lunatic and Mike is just... not that great of a coach. Where's the offensive guru stuff? Where's the Leader of Men stuff? I honestly think he has the Cowboys job mainly because he's one of the few experienced HC's who was willing to put up with JJ's bullshit. 🤣
because of the way money works in the nfl, (guaranteed money needs to be readily available and needs to sit without being used) teams are inequal. theoretically, if they're not cheap ownership, they should have more power than most or all other franchises. the Cleveland browns and bengals are the opposite of this.
0:05 YES! That’s what they should do! We’ve seen HCs get fired for much less incompetence than what McCarthy has shown over his Dallas tenure. Nowadays he’s a Marvin Lewis who can occasionally win a playoff game!
I remember year back when Nebraska football was a great team, always in the top 10, they had a coach that would lose maybe 1 or 2 games a year, but wasn't getting them into the national championship picture. They fired him and have pretty much been irrelevant since. Sometimes seeing that the grass is greener on the other side and trying to make a change can backfire.
Just follow another team lmfao Imagine literally giving your money and life to a billionaires fan club lmao. Football loyalty is propaganda. You get what you pay for.
I understand that the players rallied around McCarthy and played hard after Dak got hurt, but I have another issue. During McCarthy’s 5 years as HC the Cowboys have led the league in penalties. During the first year I thought, ok this isn’t a great team and McCarthy will instill some discipline going forward, but that never happened! Every year if they didn’t lead the league in penalties they were close. And this year the number of pre-snap penalties the offensive line had (especially Tyler Guyton - yes I realize he was a rookie but it seemed like he repeatedly got benched in games late in the season because he kept having penalties). The fact that they haven’t fixed that problem in FIVE YEARS is a problem. Also, I really think that Guyton has a TON of work to do and think he might be better off not protecting Dak’s blind side.
I really don’t get the cowboys, they’re best season with Dak was 2021… now dak doesn’t even see his option… options that are OPEN! Idk what’s goin on man
It feels like Jerry is waiting till the end of the wildcard weekend to see who is available to interview before he settles for keeping McCarthy. Problem is, the Cowboys job isn't better than almost any of the current openings, especially because of the Owner/GM. If he wanted to keep who he has, he wouldn't have denied the Bears an interview, and would have had an extension signed by now. McCarthy is going to be the settling pick, but Jerry will tell us he wanted him all along and no one else.
Millions of Americans walk around not knowing if their next paycheque will be their last 😢. So some coach with a multi million dollar contract that he knows runs out at the end of the season gets no sympathy.
Most people are pretty set in their job, unless they're working for an unstable company or are just waiting to be caught in their incompetence and fired. People mostly know that as long as they keep their head down and show up, they'll have a job tomorrow. Quit exaggerating.
As a former Cowboys fan, I hope McCarthy waits out his contract and makes Jerry Jones pay up or gives him the finger when leaving to coach elsewhere. Just like certain national politicians Jerry should have retired and let someone else run things a long time ago.
The three years of 12 wins every year is deceiving. You gotta evaluate who they played and how good their opponents were. It’s smoke and mirrors. A tool used to get fans to buy anything Cowboys. It’s not gonna change.
Yep. They were 50/50 or so against winning teams last season. This season was going to be their hardest in the McCarthy era, and they weren’t off to a good start. Now it will all start over again next season with a softball schedule.
2021: 5th highest strength of schedule of any playoff team 2022: 2nd highest strength of schedule of any playoff team You don't know what you're talking about. You're just parroting nonsense you heard from Twitter and acting like it's true b/c it fits the agenda you're trying to push.
Stupid logic. You have to have the same energy for all teams. If the teams like the 49ers, Eagles and Chiefs win and do so vs trash competition, discredit their wins too, goof!!!
I'm convinced that as long as the Cowboys are making money, and are in the spotlight, Jerry Jones is happy. He'd like to win, but if it takes too much money for that to happen, it won't happen.
McCarthy put his house up for sale back in July. In early November this past year, a buyer was found but the deal fell through and the house was taken off the market. Reasons as to why are unknown. This could be the reason.
He gets leveraged on the situation. Sure, he loses the opportunity to hire a different coach but he gains the advantage of holding McCarthy hostage and giving him limited options. "Agree to my terms to renegotiate your contract or be fired." It would be a hollow threat as he doesn't have other options if McCarthy doesn't call his bluff.
Won a SB in 2010, 7 seasons later he was fired (Rodgers wanted him out), 15 seasons later he’s still losing. Good news if he stays no one else will get stuck in dysfunctional “Jerryland”. Dak has 2 years to go before he gets to ask Jerry to fire Mike. Expect a 2 year extension.
Last year of contract: Anxiety over uncertainty? The usual story line among players is to have a break out year to maximize market value. Coaches, don't they usually get extensions to lock the coach in?
If Jerry wasn't also the owner of the Dallas Cowboys, he would have been fired as the general manager decades ago. It's amazing the Cowboys have been an above average team all this time as Jerry wheels and deals his way by both over paying and under paying talent with nothing more to show for it as they haven't been to a Super Bowl or even a conference championship since the early 90s.
I think what is happening is what everyone said before... Jerry Jones wants everyone talking Cowboys, even long after they've been eliminated from the playoffs. Jerry wants all the press all the time, at least as much of it he can get... so he waits until the last minute because that gets more media attention than if he took care of it sooner.
You can bet tomorrow there will be news dropped about him being hired or not. Hell try to dominate wildcard weekend with headlines and these fools will let him.
The people who say "wah wah stop talking about the cowboys" are so silly. I'm not a cowboys fan and in fact I hate Jerry Jones but rich talks about the NFL and the cowboys have a lot going on. It's just how it is.
I think the only NFL owner who legit hates his team’s fanbase more than Arthur Blank HAS to be Jerrah Jones. They are both CEOs who run their teams like corporations and see head coaches as middle management figures. Corporations, as you know, so not win Super Bowls; football teams do.
It always makes me laugh when people talk about NFL coaches/players and how they don't give up even when they don't know about their job security as if the rest of the world has any job security while making 1/1000th of the money.
