  • In this video I take the left over veneers from my previous tutorial and create some random artistic designs using the mirror bead or Natasha bead technique (revisited) and then create even more veneers. 😊
    If you look closely, you can see cats and owls and birds and even butterflies. Have fun creating as each time is totally different and such a surprise it never gets old!
    Thanks for watching!

    Great tutorial again. Thank you so much for sharing. The last piece didn't look like someone doing yoga. Alison, it looked just like you asking your husband to get rid of the big spider on the roof. Once again, thank you for sharing. I for one love your videos.

    I absolutely love this, I really wish I could make the exact same pendants that you did. I understand that you didn't invent the natasha bead, but your take on it is still genius and you should claim the rights to it, just like your last mokume gane technique, and nobody should make you feel bad about doing so, you deserve the credit!

    • @jasminehealey9405
      @jasminehealey9405 5 років тому

      And thank you so much for sharing it with us! I saw this video & had to try it but had already balled up & blended all the scraps from your last tutorial, so I make a whole different mokume gane block & took slices from it then tried forming the natasha beads as you showed us. I did it twice actually but I'm doing something wrong.. for some reason they all come out where the designs & details are very very close together, almost to the point of just blending the colors. I dont know what I did wrong or how to fix that or if it even makes any sense but it's like the designs are so difficult to see because all the lines throught each slice are so small & smushed together. It's getting frustrating.. I dont know

    • @ThinkingOutsideTheBox
      @ThinkingOutsideTheBox  5 років тому +1

      Jasmine Healey depending what the accent color was that you used with the Mokume Gane, add some of that to your slices when you layer it to create the Natasha bead slices (like I did with the black. I also added some solid colors that I used with the Mokume slices. Twist only twice so the colors don’t blend too much. I hope this helps 💜

      Bee Robins Thank you so much! Once you start polymer clay, you will be hooked 😊
      You can use an acrylic roller if you don’t have a pasta machine. I like to use Sculpey Premo Polymer Clay (in my opinion it’s the strongest). There are special cutting/slicing blades made by Sculpey also for polymer clay. All these items can be found at your local craft store like Joann’s, Michael’s...Hobby Lobby including the pasta machine 😊💜

    Hi again Alison- I don't know if you will check these & see this so I figured I just give it a shot in case you do. I 1st wanted to say that I missed seeing a tutorial from you this week & I know I'm not the only one. Secondly, I want to say that I really really hope everything is ok. I hope Alex is doing well & that you & your family are great & I just hope that nothing bad happened. And lastly, I just wanted to tell you about something I found tonight at Walmart, of all places. Do you know the Folkart Color Shift paints? Most of them were called Blue Flash, Red Flash, Purple Flash, etc. Well anyway, I found a few new ones tonight. They all looked pretty but I didn't want to buy all of the new ones right away so I just chose 3 of them. It was a very easy decision for me & so I chose Raspberry Flash which is a pretty reddish color that has lots of gold mica particles in it & Plum Flash which is a very nice purple w/ gold & Dragon Flash which is like a real color w/ gold mica. They are absolutely beautiful, so cool looking & quite different from all the other Color Shift paints by Folkart (or at least all the ones I have seen & bought over the last few years). I had to try them out on some black Premo the second I got home & they are very very pretty on it. Haven't tried any other colors yet though. Anyway, I am really excited about them, just wish I was creative enough to come up w/ some cool ideas as to how to use them on paint like i know you could! So I just really wanted to tell you about them in case you're interested (and I selfishly hope you'll get them, love them & create a tutorial on how to use them with clay!). I also wanted to check in & see how you were doing & say I hope everything & everyone is ok. Oh & I also meant to tell you that I saw Dragonfly Glaze in Walmart tonight! I couldn't believe it! I already have all of them but I don't know, I was pretty excited to see them there. I know that Walmart is a lot easier for a lot of people to come across than, say, Hobby Lobby. And Walmart also now sells Glitterific paints. I don't have any of those & haven't even tried them yet but it's good to know that it's so readily available now. Ok I'm finally done. Hope you see this & hope all is well💗
