Easy way to find the 7th and 9th of a triad chord.
A 7th is always a note below the octave in the scale. For example, in C major scale, if we are making a C major triad C,E,G and we make it a 7th chord, we can just take the note just below the root of the chord in the scale. In the example it will be the B. If we are in C minor scale and we make a C minor 7th, we make the triad C, Eb, G and then take Bb, the 7th of the scale.
Same goes for 9th chords, except we take the note above the root. Cmaj9 in C major scale is C,E,G and then a D, the note above the root. Dmin9 in D minor scale is D,F,A, and then an E, the 9th of the scale.

How can you learn how to make great music so well without school? I have been working on it for a while now and its just so overwhelming idk where to start tbh I have a natural ear for music luckily but the producing side and how to tweak certain things to sound how I want and just general use of my fl studio daw I am big time struggling with. I have 2500$ in equipment that I have had for months and cant even use it because everytime I try I end up just getting overwhelmed and lost on how to make it sound the way I want and how to edit properly and all that. I cant even get both my speakers to work for some reason I have the same ones as Simon does and I have checked the connections and everything I just don't know if I am ever going to be able to get anywhere in making my own music without dumping loads of money into schooling... -_-….someone please help me with some sources or a contact to help get me through this noob stage lol

You made a few mistakes though! First when adding extensions to chords you don’t count from the key of the key you’re in, you count from the major key of the chord you’re playing (if you’d play an F7 when in the key of C you’d count 6 steps up from the F key, not the C key.) also, you talked about Fmaj7 and Em7 the same way, while they arent the same chords, the Em7 has a lowered 7th, which is the “blues way” of doing things, usually when talking about a 7th chord we use the flat seventh of the scale.
