Jamara/ How to grow Jamara (Barley)/ जमरा उमार्ने सजिलो तरिका

Jamara (Barley) is grown during the auspicious occasion of Dashain festival in Nepal. Traditionally sown on the first day of Dashain (Ghatasthapana). Jamara is grown in a dark room for 10 days. The lack of sunlight gives it a beautiful yellow colour. On the day of Vijaya Dashami (10th day of Dashain) Tika and Jamara are given to younger family members and relatives with the blessings.
