I'm a "modified" Christian. I believe in what you said about Christ coming to ratify the Old Testament, not to update or outdate it. I also believe in the Sabbath, although I'm not always practicing it. But, for Christians going to church is sometimes a burden. But, your description of the Sabbath made me realize something new. In addition to being a celebration to God for a day of rest, I should look at it as also a celebration for all the good things that I have accomplished for the previous week which enhances my feeling of jubilation for God's Sabbath that he has given me.
