I came to an interesting thought - GTA 4's main antagonists all died because of their involvement with the heroin, or their involvement led to their death - Dimitri -either killed while in the heroin's possesion or after selling it at an ambushed deal, orchestrated by himself. Billy - killed after being arrested and attempting to testify against the Lost, after being arrested during the heroin deal, which may have contributed to his dire situation while imprisoned. Bulgarin - tried to buy the heroin off Dimitri and Pegorino, failed and later claimed the heroin after Dimitri's death, and was killed because the heroin deal caught Tony's attention. Timur - involved in Ray's drug deal and died after failling to protect the product. Brian - a part of Billy's deal, and his betrayal occured after the deal's failure, which was made worse by Billy's second arrest, ultimately sparking a civil war that leds to Brian's death, or second betrayal. And Jimmy. Tried to do what Billy did, albiet without setting up his men, and either failling or succeeding, but is killed either way after his involvement with the heroin, either by Niko Bellic or Rascalov.

The Triads smuggled The Heroin into Liberty City on the Platypus (the boat Niko used to immigrate to Liberty City) The Angels of Death stole the Heroin from The Triads offscreen The Lost steal the Heroin from the Angels of Death. Johnny, Niko, and Playboy X (with the help of Elizabeta Torres) tried to sell the smack to a buyer named Charlie but were ambushed by the police because Charlie turned out to be an undercover cop. Johnny and Jim hand the brown back to The Triads. (Curtsey of Billy, The Triads became hostile and attempted to kill them) Niko steals The Heroin from The Triads and gives it to Frankie (Phil’s nephew) to keep it hidden from the cops. Niko, Phil, and Frankie get ambushed by the cops who’ve been watching them the whole time. Pegorino asks Niko to sell the heroin with Dimitri Rascalov (No matter the option, the buyer doesn’t get their hands on the smack) After Dimitri’s death (which in turn wiped out the Rascalov Mafiya) The Heroin Supply gets transferred and is now in the procession of The Bulgarin Mafiya. Luis destroys the Heroin and wipes out The Bulgarin Mafiya along with killing Timur and then Bulgarin himself. (Wow, this Heroin arc has as big of a storyline as the Diamonds.)

IMO it’s not the worst. It’s definitely the most depressing story. It’s dark and gritty, even more than GTA4. The worst is in my opinion GTA Online and it’s ridiculous story. Don’t get me wrong, I think it’s fun and all. I love all the cameos from different characters from previous games. But the overall story is just meh.
