    I just found your channel and I know this is a somewhat old video by now but I wanted to comment anyway and say that I know what you’re going through, and I appreciate you talking about it in such an intimate way.
    I’ve had Type2 for 16 years now, was diagnosed when I was 19. Diabetes runs in my family but I kind of brought it onto myself for a number of reasons. Depression that lead to bad eating habits mostly paired with a bad doctor that made me go through years of unnecessary testosterone shots because he decided mine was too low and of course that didn’t help.
    I was a lot older than you when I got diagnosed so I had the mental capacity to understand what was going on and try and make it better. And I did, for a time. But I relapsed after a few years and had to start all over again. Thankfully it never got too bad, not 700 bad I mean, but my overall health was at risk with my liver getting oversized, my kidneys, my heart, my blood pressure etc. 118kg was the heaviest I’ve ever been and I remember one day looking at myself in the mirror and getting really scared.
    I’m all better now, at my ideal weight and still taking metformin after every meal but everything’s in check and my doctor says I technically don’t have anything anymore. But I always feel like it’s still there hiding somewhere behind a corner. So I do everything I can to stay healthy and active and eat well so I won’t be scared anymore.
    Science has gone a long way and I’m so, so thankful for all the improvements we’ve seen in the last few years.
    I don’t know you personally but I just wanted to thank you for sharing your story because there is always someone out there that needs to hear it. Needs to hear that it can get better and that one can find the strength to fight another day.
    I really felt something when you said your mother is an Italian terror, being Italian (100%!) myself. My mother was the same when we found out about my diagnosis and made damn sure I was following prescriptions and everything every single day 😅
    I really appreciated you being so open about your story and so kind to share it with us. Thank you.
    Also love your ASMR work and I’ll definitely be watching!

    Thanks for the earlier Q&A. Hoping for more, like a role play for applying a job.
    That was me who was requesting for Q&A but this one is also great you narrated it so well.

    Thanks for sharing your story. My Type 2 went unchecked for a while. Your 700+ shocked me. I was at 300 in July. I'm taking the daily pills and weekly subcutaneous shots and diet and exercise. Seems to be helping. Best wishes to you.

    I think they're developing a vaccine against type 1 diabetes? I was diagnosed with type 2 over two years ago and so far it's under control with medication

    • @mikeistiredasmr
      @mikeistiredasmr 2 роки тому +1

      That vaccine would be meant to prevent the onset. Unfortunately it would be useless to me 😂

    Your hair game is off hook. Also my blood sugar is high. In fact i could have diabetes right now. Eh. Yes i should do something about that. Just telling myself i won’t eat sugar isn’t cutting it. But i can’t imagine what it would be like to grow up with type one diabetes. Edit 727!! Omg. And yes the finger pricking does seem like an ordeal, it terrifies me. But there are the wearables like you said. Although insulin is confusing, I’d probably start with ozempic or something once weekly. I also think i had higher blood sugar maybe into diabetes during a long span of unemployment in my 20’s. Now i work on my feet and sometimes work out and my sugar is near the border.
