Cause they are
these guys got so much spunk they're showing the world that traditional chinese instruments aren't only for old-timey music. of course there's also what sounds like an electric guitar in the back, but i think it's awesome that the different cultures' instruments can complement this well.
same with japanese instruments like koto or taiko^^

oh my god the dizi player is really cool i just fell in love with a new instrument.
Same! I'd never actually heard of a 'dizi' before, thought it was just a flute, but looking at it on Wikipedia I see it has a membrane, which I guess adds a slight harshness to the sound when required. It really sounds awesome.
