Wayne Shorter 4tet (Danilo Perez, John Patitucci, Brian Blade):
I was there 13 years ago... A privilege to see those legends
wow
...just smoked it! One of the great Jazz quartets of all time, incredible, Wayne Shorter's mercurial career from Miles's great second quintet to this astounding quartet.
Gotta mention the Jazz Messengers also
This is amazing, thank you Remi!
Saw this live at Detroit’s Jazz Fest, went right over to the CD booth and never stopped listening to the CD for the next 5 months......it blew my hair back...wow!.
The form is pretty complex. Those guys sounds so good on it. And Wayne is always so much right on.
@@remi.bolduc Thanks for putting this up brother...👍🏾
So um, this is wanna the best quartet's ever assembled in Jazz...yeah , like, literally....yep
This is jazz! Genius masters. Big men game.
WAYNE SHORTER GENIUS !!!!
Magic exists ✨️
At 2:45 I wonder what Wayne was seeing / feeling cause they was seriously out there. Clearly he was moved. The mighty Wayne Shorter!!!
Remi, thanks ONCE AGAIN for uploading, for us, YET ANOTHER staggeringly BRILLIANT musical offering!
Keep 'em coming, PLEASE!!
Freedom!
This Tune 🎶 Gave A 13 Yr Old Boy Hope & Win To Aspire & Be Inspired So Much His Composition's Named After My 8th Grade Baking Contest 1st 🏆🥇🍓🍑🍒🥧 Entitled: "Joyryder Fruit Pie Supreme"(& I Still Have My Plaque From That Life Changing Experience!!!!!
Shorter's Quartet belongs with Trane's and Miles' Quintet as the greatest small combos in jazz.
Have transcribed and arranged for octet! ;-)
wooooooowww!!!!!
¡Qué maravilla!
This is a very useful video, thank you! So great having the form/metre outlined.
It's pretty cool to 'see' how Wayne is always right on
Absolutely. It definitely answers some questions I had about the kind of stuff that they play - but makes it no less impressive! It would be great if you could do some more of his quartet. Massive thanks for everything you do on the channel!
What questions were they?
Bam!!!
Joy Ryder...with a Y
I never understood Y?!
3:56 🔥🔥🔥
Much prefer the studio version by far for so many reasons.
That's the thing about improvised music and live playing. It's never the same. Sometimes we get used to one version also. This said, I am not arguing with you. As for myself, I am really enjoying this live version.
I had never even heard of this tune before, or the Footprints Quartet - until I clicked on a video last month. I heard the album version first and liked it instantly. Mostly because of the synthesizers and the slower tempo.
All the way Grubhub !!!!!
Are there chord-changes or is the harmony pretty 'free'?
I just marked the form and did not transcribe the piece. I would think that there are changes since the from is so strict. I'll have to transcribe them at one point
The pianist in this video rendition is playing chords. On the studio cut the Head is pretty much in unison throughout.
かっちょいいけど、リフがないとこは全く何を弾いてるのかわかりませんでした・・・。
