Back in 2001, i was sent a letter by the DWP saying I was overpaid by £1.00 as I used to work ex amount of hours and ex amount of Dole Money. They wanted me to turn up and be questioned under caution. I wrote back a not-so-friendly letter telling them I'm not giving up a day's pay all for the sake of £1. Also I sent a cheque with it for the money overpaid and got a nice letter back thanking me and a sorry for sending their letter in the first place.
My wife gave up a job she loved as a child minder, she gave up when I was suddenly diagnosed with a rare and aggressive Cancer, unfortunately she didn’t qualify fora full aged pension! Please tell others a simple mistake will be severely treated by DWP! 😢
Many years ago i nearly had a heart attack when i was claiming benefits and received a card through the door when i got home from the job centre from the visiting officer at the fraud department as it was unannounced! Thankfully the visiting officer was nice when he came round and had said how most people who claim are honest but a few arent!
@@MoneyNerd Being a Carer has stress and anxiety through the roof. I know. Hearing all these horror stories about what DWP is going to do doesn't ease it any. And there is no wrong doing here at this end. It's just in knowledge of what the DWP are like.

I had so many problems with DWP. They made so many mistakes. I always had to sort it out.
They never apologise for theirs sloppy work.
