You are just so precious! Glad you learned to make your candy. Good to know how to do it yourself. Hope you and your family have a wonderful Christmas. God Bless!
Oh dear friend💗. I had a flash back when I saw the cornflake brittle. Back in the dinosaur days when I was in school 🤪🤪🤪 our cafeteria workers made these as dessert with our lunch. They would put them on a baking sheet and cut them into squares. I need to make that for my grand boys. ❤️. Thank you!
I am so glad to find this candy. When I was younger, like 60 years ago my mother and I would go to a specialty cheese shop in our town and they made this candy in a maple leaf mold it was beautiful and the taste is heavenly I am going to make this I have never seen the recipe for it before I can't wait to see what the next recipe is... thank you so much
We make maple sugar in a small loaf pan and just slice it. So much easier than molds! Or you can drop it by small spoonfuls onto waxed/parchment paper. Can I just say you look AMAZING! I love the hair cut!
I am glad to hear from you. I was concerned when the news reported that NC was in the dark. I heard about it at 3:00am but the Today's show reported it was a different county. I thanked God for the news and requested that He send help to the people without heat in the name of Jesus.
Thank you for praying for Moore County. Please pray for those who committed this act of vandalism and that justice will be done. And please pray that this won’t become a thing and repeated in other places.
@@JustBethTrying , our Lord Jesus said if 2 or more agree in prayer, He will act on the request. I agree with you that the Lord Jesus will bring the people to justice that committed this act of aggression against the state. And, Lord, please place a hedge of protection over NC; it is in Your name we pray, Lord Jesus.
I love your hair! I have worn mine in the same style for 30 to 40 years, with a perm. Since perms are so expensive I've decided to not get them any more. So having to get use to straight hair and how to style it is a problem. I'm 85 and hard to make changes. God bless you and your family! Merry Christmas!
Leslie, I was looking back at some of your older videos. You have always been absolutely darling with your sparkling personality. I have to say that you look a good ten years younger now and your health and vitality really shines brighter now. God bless you and your family throughout this blessed season.
Thank you for the recipe for your maple cream candy when I was a little girl every year we would go to the Maple Festival and they would sell hot maple syrup and a little bowl and would give you a popsicle stick to Stir It it would cool down and then we could eat the candy and it did just the same thing that you just did so I know how good it is thank you! Matter of fact I'm going to send it the recipe to my sisters
I love the maple candies! I've never tried making candy-thermometer candy before because it seems so finicky and so intimidating, but I may have to give it a try. Thanks for sharing!
My wife has made candy for Christmas years and years. She watched your show and now has two new candies to add to her list. She is making it and taking it to NE when we visit our 2 daughters and the rest of her family. YUM! YUM! Can't wait to eat some when we get there.
I make a lot of candy. Your best best with the maple candy is a small spoonful on parchment paper that you can shape while it’s still warm. You’ll get that crust on the outside, soft in the center. You’ll lose that crust on the sides if you cut it like fudge. You have to work fast with candy. I use my molds for old fashioned “stained glass” candy. Spray those molds with cooking spray first! Makes removal(& clean up) much easier.
Amen Chrissy I make a lot of candies also parchment paper, wax paper can spray r my best friends my grands favorite is the peanut butter bon, bons, this yr I will do with crunchy peanut butter instead of the creamy peanut butter yum
@@penniecurrie2424 I’m checking my stock to see what I need to pick up before my big batches begin. My husband’s co-workers are already talking about it.
So glad that you are now able to make your favorite candy at home, Leslie! Loved watching your excitement as you discovered that this found recipe was it! 🥰
I would have dropped by tsp full on the maple and Tablespoon for the cornflakes. They both are good. Love your videos, have a Merry Christmas. Peanut Brittle can use any raw peanuts, but it can't be humid outside, it will not turn out.
Both recipes look amazing. Yes, totally agree, get tired of fixing the same thing every year. I usually do fudge. I'm gonna do hard candy this year. Delicious recipes 😋. Thank you, and I'm so happy you nailed the recipe ❤️. Merry Christmas to you and your family 🤗
Leslie, could you get the little paper candy cups and just drop spoonfuls into them? Then you could just let it cool and they are ready to box. I think those little cups are waxed. That would mean no cutting or shaping.
Well i now have 2 more candies that I have never done on my list of candies to make. I'm so glad you were about to make your favorite maple cremes. Thanks for sharing.
I love to watch your channel. I have always loved cooking, but due to being disabled now I don't do as much as I used to. I'm just a southern girl living in the midwest now, so I really love your channel. Merry Christmas to you and your family.
I can remember as a child, going to the little country store in our neighborhood. They had this round maple candy, probably as round as a canning lid, in a big clear jar, they were 5 cents each. It would last for quite awhile. I’ve never made the cornflake cookies before but I’ve have eaten them. The ones I’ve seen, they scooped them into ball shapes. My mother always made divinity candy for Christmas, I’ve never made it. If you have, please make a video. Thanks!🎄🤶🏻
Oh Leslie, we live in Wisconsin and my husband taps about 400 trees every Feb/Mar syrup season. Most of our woods are maple trees. So he has made maple syrup every year for a long time. However I have never been brave enough to try to make maple candy. But I think you gave me confidence 😅 I share your excitement when I master something that means a lot to me. So it tickled me to watch your excitement when you “nailed it”. When my husband returns from our business in Georgia later this week I am going to try and make him some. That would also make fun little Christmas presents. Thanks you for another fun video.
Honey, you are looking great!! you sound better in this video, I was concerned about about you, watching your video you made on Wednesday. You look like you feel better. I sure hope so. God health to sweet heart.
The mock peanut brittle you made is almost exactly what I make, except we call it cornflake candy. I mound it by spoonfuls onto wax paper and let it cool, then put the pieces into Christmas tins. That’s one of my favorite candies. Have never tried maple creams, but it does look good. It’s amazing how the syrup changes after heating and stirring…😱…..Thanks for your video!….❤️Brenda
Hi Leslie the candy really looks good I'm eating one and I don't think I ever made candy in my life enjoy I meant to put I am 81 years old and I have never made candy in my life enjoy

Awesome video, Leslie! Thank you for sharing this! I’m so glad you mastered the maple candy! I love maple candy too! The cornflakes candy looks awesome as well! Great job Leslie! I love you guys, God bless you all! 🤗❤️🙏🏻🎄
Can’t believe the maple candy is only one ingredient! Definitely going to have to try that one! Both look delicious! So fun to work with you on this collab!
The maple cremes I've never had but seeing how easy it was I may try it. My favorite maple season sweet is maple butter. It must be along the same lines as heating and cooling but it stays spreadable. Sooooo good on toast! My indulgence when the maple syrup is flowing!
Love your recipes today...I WILL BE MAKING THESE for Christmas...and also...I Love your hair cut...looks so good on you...wish I could wear that style but I have Natura curly hair and if I cut it that short I would look like a MOLE...LOL..looks awesome on you...take care and Gid Bless
Love them candy molds. What wonderful recipes! I have never had the maple creme candy from Cracker Barrel. But with pure maple syrup, you know thats good! Also will be trying the mock Brittle, looks yummy!!! THanks for sharing
Love love the maple candy from Cracker Barrel too and just had my pure maple syrup brought from my friends from his trees. I buy from him every year thanks for sharing ❤️🙏😍
I haven't watched your videos in quite a while and I wanted to tell you really quick that you look stunning. You lost a lot of weight right? it makes you look so much younger, and your hair looks very becoming on you.....BEAUTIFUL 🥰💕
Being a peanut butter fanatic I need to try that second one you did! It reminded me of the popcorn cake I make. I also have a microwave peanut brittle that is so good...and easy!
I’m just recently found your channel. I’ve been binge watching. Love your recipes and love that you’re a Christian sharing with us all. May God bless you and your family.
I just love you, you are so down to earth and love the Lord, like I do....anyway...just alittle tid bit about peanut brittle. I was taught by my mother in law to stir it with a metal spoon, makes it airier, sp? Also pour fast and it also makes it airyer.
Both of these look drool-worthy! I haven't had homemade maple cremes since my great-grandma passed away. I may have to try these and shock some family at Christmas.
Leslie your excitement is contagious over joyed with your candy. I've never had either candies but my Mom she buy maple candy buy Brach not sure if same but it was good. Good luck with your collaboration.
Hi Leslie... this is my first time commenting, I subscribed and been watching probably a year ago or so. The maple candy looks amazing! I will try that one for sure. I've been making your peanut butter cornflake candy for years. Our public school cafeteria (West Memphis, AR) served this yummy treat at least once a month for years with the homemade pizza lunch. Everyone was so disappointed, but we understood when they stopped serving them due to the students with nut allergies. I'm 68 yrs. and had them when I was in elementary school! We spoon the mixture onto parchment paper and call them Peanut Butter Chewies. Everyone should try these... so easy to make and so... so... good. Once made be sure and keep them in a ziploc bag or any sealed container to keep them from drying out and becoming hard. Love you Leslie and I enjoy all of your videos, as well as your recipes! Happy Holidays to you and your sweet family! XOXOXO ❤❤❤
I love how you can’t quit eating it! It must be good

I love that most people are doing simple recipes. My husband loves maple creme.
