    Great information and tips. It is time to dig out the bags and go through them.😬. Due to the spouses health, we'd only be able to bug out by vehicle, but would still need the bags.👍. Guess I need to make up a bag for our little Bichon and include food, dishes, brushes, scissors and nail cutters. Would load her stroller into the car, just in case. I bought a sturdy one with a lot of storage space.😄 Keep praying for America.🙏 God bless.

    Hey Grey, day off today and this evening catching up on a few videos as i am doing some canning. Lol, i was just thinking of going through my get home bags. Yes, one of the most important things to consider when putting the bag together is environmental and season. For example, my city bag is different from my country bag. Then with winter coming up, there are a few items i will change out from summer gear. Good video. 👍

    HI Grey I appreciate the time on the break down on your kits for your family I have one general medium ish size bag in the car and we do thow added things in as winter here in Minnesota can be a bit rough, but I told my husband we definitely should make a one more for his main vehicle the truck although his commute isn't super far away it's far enough for a good hike if crap hits the fan I really like your wife's inputs on the smaller items they just make better since for me personally since I'm smaller and don't have the strength I once had. As you said better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it. Thanks Grey and Ms.Grey

    nice video. i have another "C" to suggest. Cleaning or Care items. i would add toilet paper in a zip lock bag. everyone poops. no other way to say it. if she has to walk home, she will need to go at some point. if you have some in the car, will she remember to grab it? if she has a friend or two walking with her, they probably will need to go too at some point. with these kits, it better to have and not need, right? and then add a small hotel sized bar of soap or two so she can wash her hands. if there is room, add maybe a compact toothbrush and small tube of toothpaste. again, she might have these in the car or already with her, but will she remember to grab them if she has to head out on foot?

    • @GreyManPrepping
      @GreyManPrepping  Місяць тому +1

      @lorknozzel11 thank you! And yes, having a proper hygiene kit is essential in my book. In my EDC kit, I have a tube of compressed tp. Just add a drop of water, and they expand pretty large, very compact. I'm my GHB or vehicle bag I have as they call them "dude wipes," 😆 but they are just a pack of moisten towelettrs similar to baby wipes. As well as travel toothbrush, paste, chapstick, and other compact travel hygiene items. I like how you converted it into a "C" very cool 😁👍

    My problem with the c’s is they leave some things out like hygiene and first aid. I know there’s some like tape and cotton, but it’s not adequate for emergency disasters or whatever. That chain you have for the tripod is a boat anchor if you don’t have the bail that’s sold separately, Dave has some cool stuff but sometimes he’s too much of a salesman. I’d suggest a pot with a bail if that tripod is something you need. The shelter has a bug net but what about a head net for the swarms of pests down there. Don’t recall seeing a tarp either. Lastly, I kind of disagree with the whole grey premise. In war zones there’s a term used called “military aged male” that makes any man or child old enough to hold a rifle a threat or a target. But maybe I’m just thinking too much into it. I’m more of the mind to hide and or anti tracking typed measures, being able to change looks or disguise. Just my take

    • @GreyManPrepping
      @GreyManPrepping  Місяць тому +2

      You make very great points, and yes, the C's lack in certain areas. Kinda why, towards the end, I mentioned medical, communication, and self protection and evasion. The main goal with this video was to at least give folks an idea of building a foundation for their kit and build off that. I truly hope people understand that and that this is just some basic concepts and ideas when building a bag as everyone's needs will vary. I also prep in a more tactical sense than a grey sense. Many people see the name "me" lol and think one way, but don't see that in some instances going grey is good and others not so much. My friends in my group always laugh at me when I'm all decked out in high-speed gear, and we are running drills. They give me a lot of crap calling me not so greyman with a plate carrier loaded up lol 😆 I personally believe knowing and understanding the concepts and where to apply each is important.

    • @n8mayfield
      @n8mayfield Місяць тому

      @ I’m not knocking the video. Hope you don’t take any offense to what I’m saying. Dave rubs a lot of people in the outdoor community the wrong way, taking ideas as his own. The c’s list for example was taken from a mountaineering book. I’m just saying there are better building blocks than c’s that leave whole categories out. Another thing I wanted to mention was the use of Mylar. It works great for 30 minutes while you’re waiting for the life flight to pick you up but after 30 minutes it starts to have the opposite effect, and as a shelter system it’ll shred in the wind

    • @GreyManPrepping
      @GreyManPrepping  Місяць тому +2

      @n8mayfield Oh no offense takin 😁 I prefer folks to express their opinions as it helps create helpful conversation in most instances, lol, and yeah, I remember the controversy when he was doing that show on discovery or something. I do like Joshua Enyart, "The Grey Bearded Green Beret" solid wilderness and survival instructor well atleast from perspective. Anyway, I appreciate you chiming in and sharing your thoughts! 😁🤘
