So disagree with don’t buy a new car. You will save thousands of dollars on repairs and maintenance having a new car.
no, if you buy a reliable car with low mileage you won't have much to spend on insurance, taxes, maintenance, or repairs. getting a low mileage older honda or toyota is the way to go.

Totally agree, we never buy new cars. We look out for cars around 3 yrs old that have lost most of the devaluation of new cars. Be aware of wasting anything, water, power, petrol don't make multiple outings. See saving money as a game, I try to see how little I can spend in a month, the lower the better. Also dont deny yourself, but look for alternative ways to spend leisure time. We take a flask to a local park when the weather is fine instead of buying coffee at Coffee shops. READY
