I could listen to him talk all day. He has a calm in his voice that few others have.

Me too. I have found others with a similar, inner voice...just gentle voices and word choices whenever I speak with them. They are also Buddhists-

You may not know this. As Buddhists we strive to be compassionate. Which means, of course, that we have empathy, and wisdom.
He was in a car accident which paralyzed him on one side of his body. The pain must’ve been ubiquitous for him. Even after speaking to his students and reading everything I can about him, I never once heard him speak about bodily pain. And yet it was impossible that he was not sometimes in agony.
Another thing you may not have thought of, is it very cold in the Himalayas. In order to keep the body functioning, many religious people drink beer. Again, to indulge in drunkenness is against precepts. To drink alcohol isn’t.

The sutras say not to indulge in drunkenness. They don’t say anything about refraining from the alcohol. If you’ve ever seen a speech of his transcribed from a time, when people would’ve said, he was drunk, you’ll realize your error. They are lucid, even brilliant.
Moreover, it’s not smart to indulge in assumptions. You may get drunk. It’s not smart to assume that others are drunk, even when their behavior mimics your own. It is far worse to accuse wrongly, then to behave in the way you describe.

YOU are the book that must be read. All other books are secondhand accounts of that book.

See the self. This is the Key.
See its nature, structure, and movement in daily life.
See it not merely intellectually but with one's whole being.
      1) Without condemnation or justification.
      2) Without a desire to change anything.
The very Seeing of the I, the me, the self, opens the door to a Whole New Way of Living rooted in Love and Wisdom for the very first time...in each and every moment of daily life...once and for all, now and forever.

      You must stand alone.
      No teachers. No books.
      No beliefs. No concepts.
      No techniques. No rituals.
      No saviors. No gods.
Perceiving directly the I, the me, the self, the so-called True or Higher Self, opens the portal to a Whole New Way of Living rooted in Love and Wisdom for the very first time...in each and every moment of daily life...once and for all, now and forever.

The last thing that I have to say, and then I’ll shut up, I promise! Because of this about examining yourself. Your own thoughts, your own behaviors. It’s good to keep that in mind, when commenting on other people.

He died because black magicians, who wanted to steal the secret teachings for mind control and psyops poisoned him with bioweapons and alcohol kept him alive longer
