I'm preferential to Milwaukee and DeWalt myself, but I love seeing honest reviews of brands that might be considered "lesser" or scoffed at. Competition is what keeps prices reasonable and innovation high. Great video!
All true points with one exception: Totally misrepresented Video Title from VCG. Terrible they labeled this video this way when it CLEARLY it did 99% of everything they showed. A NUMBER of drills can't spin a 2-1/4 hole saw bit through on #2 speed... Shame on VCG Construction for clearly false presentation as clickbait. The video proved it otherwise...
@HeWhoIsWhoHeIs Milwaukee & Hercules 20v batteries have the exact same samsung cells, and have the same warranty (and in all likelihood, are made in same factory). essentially, you're paying extra for red plastic and a name...
@@jtplumbing6592I prefer Hercules than Milwaukee and DeWalt. I know those brand are professional made but $$$$ cost more. Hercules is going to do the same . My coworkers use Milwaukee and some DeWalt and they completely do the same thing. And they have to replace batteries every 4 years. Cost a lot money.
Torque test channel just put out their video on this too. It performed as well as the Milwaukee gen 4 and thanks to the price is the current best hammer drill on their chart.
FACT. This drill clearly performs at this price point OUTSIDE of the best industry standard warranty OUT there... A shame VCG Construction took a below the belt punch on Hercules with misrepresenting this.
I went from Makita to Dewalt and for this past year tried the Hercules Line to put them to test. I used and abused Herculess tools for a number of Remodeling projects for this past year. Still going strong, no issues. They were dropped, left outside under rain and sun, used daily. Durability is there. Jobsite use approved. Whenever batteries go out I know I can go replace them with their new warranty. (Oscilalting cordless multitool, Impact, hammer drill, sliding miter saw, table saw, circular saw, grinders...) Now I am considering into getting their full line up of tools.
I just had my Makita set grow legs and walk, so I am replacing those with Hercules. I think what a lot of people don’t understand is that the batteries are comprised of Samsung cells that really are top of the line. Makita makes their batteries from the same cells. The only battery brand whose cells perform better are not as mass produced, so no major manufacturers make battery packs out of their cell at all anyway. Samsung 40t cells are what’s in the 21700 cell battery packs
Got the little Hercules 12v impact a few years ago to take off a grumpy pulley on my self propelled lawn mower. Worked great. Compact, light and handy for little jobs around the house. I think it's biggest job was building a 6 ft picket privacy fence in my backyard. So, if the big drills are anything like this little guy I wouldn't be afraid to purchase them.
I own Hercules 20v tools for home use and I love them. But I will say, as a plumper, supplied with Milwaukee fuel tools at my disposal, the Milwaukee easily drives a 2 9/16 bit through a 2x4 fairly easily. If apprentices made more I would 100% invest in an all Milwaukee setup. But I am extremely impressed with my Hercules 1/2 inch impact driver and angle grinder, would definitely recommend. I feel Hercules is just as good as dewalt if not better. I would recommend Hercules tools to anyone without a doubt of remorse.
Best part is I don’t have to fuss with BS if it breaks. I just take it a mile down the road to my Harbor Freight and get a new one. No send off for repair, just get a new one. Easy.
I'd say HF is now trying to compete with the big guys but I see one huge difference. Time. The other high quality tools have proven themselves through time and already have customers with multiple batteries. Impressed with that even being able to drill a 1 inch bit lol thank you guys for showing the performance with heavy duty driving and drilling. I appreciate u guys showing these tools off it helps me make better decisions
Same here! I picked mine up about a week ago got the hammer drill, the 1/4 inch impact 2 2.5 amp hour batteries the charger all that for 199 I couldn’t pass up that deal after watching all these demonstrations and tests!
I have used Hercules since they first launched. I dont use them professionally, just for homeowner work around my house and my parents houses, they have stood up to me accidentally dropping them off my ladder and pushing them hard by driving oversized screws/lags. I like it for what I do.
I’m a Milwaukee, dewalt or makita guy, but I work as a maintenance man for a private Christian school and find Hercules power tools to be more than adequate without breaking the bank. I’ve found the Hercules line to have everything I need for maintenance work although I haven’t purchased everything I need yet. I think for the money they are hard to beat, time will tell how long they last.
I have the Hercules miter saw that competes with the DeWalt, it's a fantastic saw and stand. Much better than i anticipated when my fiance got it. I think as Harbor Freight stores show up more places, Hercules tools can take off for the pro because they can walk into a store and exchange a dead tool right there under warranty, where the other guys cant offer that. Time will tell if their strategy pays off.
I just bought the miter saw last week! got it for $300 down from 400 during there spring black friday sale! now im waiting for the tablesaw to go on sale.
Not to sound too sour grapes, but not being able to bore the big hole in speed two is probably a good thing. Self-preservation is a good thing. I'm pretty excited about the Hercules line. I think it will give Milwaukee and Dewalt a run for their money.
One drill I have turns 1,300 rpms in 2nd gear. It's a Milwaukee M18 drill that I bought around 2008. My new M18 Brushless drill turns 1,800 in 2nd gear. The Hercules drill turns 2,000 rpms in 2nd gear. I would prefer having higher RPM's in 2nd gear. I hate the 1,300 rpm drill I have, it has horrible battery life because the motor is always screaming at maximum RPM's to get any work done. A 2,000 rpm 2nd gear is perfect, because if you're using a wire brush in your drill, or drilling small holes in soft materials, you want the extra RPM's available.
I do fiberglass construction and have started doing more around the house. I won a Christmas raffle and got a large Milwaukee cordless tool kit and thought I’d start working on my own tool collection. I’ve watched you for a while but I’ve been back recently trying to compare tools so I can decide if I want to stick with Milwaukee or switch to a different brand. I’m really looking for price to performance. I don’t want cheap by any means. I just don’t want to spend extra for minuscule improvements that won’t really be noticeable in day to day use
Another great video sir! I've seen more and more good reviews of the Hercules tools, I'd love to see you review the 12" sliding compound miter saw of theirs!
They just did a comparison between the Milwaukee hammer drill Gen 3 & Gen 4 and also the the DeWalt and over all the HFT Hercules took top honors. Only when the Milwaukee with the HO 8.0 AH could it out pace the HFT but at a higher cost so the Torque test channel agrees with it's Stellar performance. This is a far cry from the HFT product line of Battery powered tools from the old days but the price reflects that. I personally am way to far into M12 Milwaukee to switch now but I do miss the hard shell cases..
Great Review Video! The Hercules 20V $199 Pick 2 of 7 Deal (still ongoing) is a great deal! One of the 7 is the 8Amp Battery. I grabbed the Angle Grinder and OMT, both for $119. Already had the High Speed 8Amp Charger plus four of the 5Ahr Extreme Batteries, the 7 1/4" Circ, Compact Recip Saw, Impact Driver, and Hammer Drill Driver. So, once into the Battery & Charger ecosystem, the Tools themselves are outstanding and inexpensive! Unless you're doing sustained high battery drain drilling, grinding, or circ sawing, I have found the 5AHr batteries to be working fine. I've yet to encounter a situation where I needed the 8Amp Battery. Yet, it's good to know if needed I can always grab one to add to the set.
I am Considering switching to this. I've burned up Ryobi, Craftsman, And Bosch. At least with this, You can reup the warranty and keep going. Also, It's in store exchanged no questions asked.
I’ll wait until they’ve been around a couple of years and see how they’re holding up first. Having the same warranty period as Milwaukee but being able to drive across town to use that warranty instead of sending the tool halfway across the state to a Milwaukee approved repair facility sounds very appealing to me, but I don’t want to do it every other month lol.
Until you read the warranty fine print... "... and may require shipment by purchaser to a service center at purchaser's expense." It doesn't sound like you can pop into HF and walk out with a new one, same day.
Thanks for the review. I’m 100% in the Fuel lineup and love, love, love them!! Tried one of the Brushless Hercs, was impressed, went back and bought a few more as they’re so dang cheap, and just to use as “beaters” and loaners, and have done things to them and with them that I would have never done to my beloved and coddled Milwaukee’s. Haven’t picked up Red since. I’m saving them back for good 🫤.
I use various tool brands for specific projects. All Colors. That’s based on my personal preference. I use them all . I’m a senior citizen as well and have various tool stations on all three Floors of out century plus old house. We have a large carriage house barn too .st Louis Missouri. It’s a very impressive demonstration.
As a serious hard core home user, Hercules brushless is just what I was looking for. I am now waiting for the cordless Hercules bandsaw to come out. (I was a contractor many years ago and it was time to upgrade everything and embrace a whole new brushless line)
As a someone who does my own work on my truck I'm waiting for them to come out with bushless ratchets. I already have their ultratorque and I've been extremely pleased with it so far. HF has really stepped things up over the past 5 years since their shakeup with sending US QC teams to China.
Just used this drill today to put some shelf brackets into concrete. Works great as long as you dont hit a rock. Dont buy expensive brands if youre a home owner. You're going to use this 10 times over 20 years.
I want to switch to the Hercules line, but they need to expand their tool line like Milwaukee. I like to stick to one battery plarform when I need specialty tools.
I love Hercules tools so far. I’ve had kobalt, also dewalt. I’ve been thinking of buying this drill. I wish HF would make a large bundle option like competitors.
My HF is selling these new drills as a kit all in one box ($100) for the first time. Drill, 2 Amp battery, Charger. Ive only ever seen these sold separately with some kind of discount if you buy them all together.
When they first came out you could only buy them in kits w/ hardcase, I'm talking about the brushed ones from like 5 years ago. I think they gave up on the kits after about a year. I still have mine but I've also upgraded all my drills to brushless, they are power hungry so I don't recommend the 2ah batteries if you filling with bits bigger than a 1/2in, slap a 5ah in there and you're good to go.
@@ThePainkiller3666 I agree, the kits a good price though considering you get a charger with it. I started with Bauer a few years ago because they were less money and had more tools. Now I'm thinking of getting the impact kit Hercules has for 100 bucks and then adding tools that I want need from the Hercules line.
@@nickabel8279 I disagree, anyone experienced knows they are gonna want a bigger battery and I bet a lot of the less experienced users are just driving some screws and drilling a few holes on occasion. The other thing is UA-cam is here and they will gain a lot of experience with these tools by watching videos and reading comments like these.
Like you I love tools and have a huge range, as a plumber my go to is Milwaukee but I use dewalt as well, that being said I have Hercules just to see what it can do
Hercules uses the same samsung cells as Milwaukee and Makita. With everything being made in china these days, there are only 2-3 oem manufacturers of cordless tools producing for all the major brands, so it's very likely that all 20v batteries are produced in the same factory.
HF cordless is pretty good in my experience so far although I don't do residential work but heavy industrial and my tools so far haven't let me down, for the cost I am definitely sold on what I get for my money. Although I don't suggest getting the grinder for anything other than light grinding jobs.
Ah, I had wondered what possessed Milwaukee to have the sales they are having lately, and this answers that question. Without the sales, these look like solid options for the weekender that will barely use these things, but with the sales, Milwaukee has them beat. Thanks for the review!
Thank you for this video! Was not expecting that. I have the new Hercules brushless impact driver and it's amazing. There's many videos out there to show that, but I've been wondering about the drill. Some say the electronic clutch is the weak point. I'm on the fence about getting it. If I do, it will be a life of abuse for the tool as I will be using it to drill 3/8" and 1/2" holes through stacked railroad ties for rebar. That usually makes any drill I use too hot to handle after a bit and I don't wait for it to cool down. I slap a new battery on and keep it going. I've used porter cable brushless and m12 Milwaukee fuel for this purpose, but that 1200 ft/lb torque got me wondering if it can hang.
@@jacobsebastien3910 ah, you caught my typo. I still haven't taken the plunge on it yet. I did buy the brushed Hercules for $20 in the clearance/open box area. I figured for $20 I could drill a few holes and if it burnt up I wouldn't feel bad about it. Turns out, it's not that bad even though spec wise it's half that of the brushless model. It has no problem drilling 16" x 3/8" paddle bits into railroad ties, it doesn't get that hot, and it still hasn't let the magic smoke out yet so I got my $20 worth so far.
Got a few Hercules corded tools and they've all been good. Even with the new warranty, their battery tools are a tough sell. Pretty much DeWalt prices these days...
LET'S GO Vince 🏁 10:52.. But once you get over that initial expense you're good..you don't need to buy a bunch of chargers, the batteries aren't very expensive and 8AH for a 100 bucks is a h*** of a deal...
I have a pretty wide variety of cordless power tools from black and decker/ skil to Milwaukee for home repair and car repair tools. I think the best quality is Milwaukee for me, but i have a few Hercules tools and i think when it comes to bang for your buck Hercules is where its at. They just seem like good entry level tools that you can save money on and can still perform. Also i just picked up two 5 amp batteries for 89$ they were on sale so i had to take them home.
But the difference now they have a deal where you get the hammer drill, the 1/4 inch impact, two 2.5 amp hour batteries and a fast charger!! All for $199 just picked it up two days ago hell of a deal!!!
Hercules brushless cordless pro tools appear to be a good line of tools, to bad there isn't a Harbor Freight outlet in Australia for them! Might be worth a consideration by Harbor Freight down the road!
I've got a few Milwaukee tools, but only 1 battery lol. I just got 5 and 8 ah Hercules batteries with a charger for $99. With a 3 year warranty, too good to pass up.
can't beat Harbor Freights no hassle return policy either; just date batteries & tools with paint pen and replace them before warranty runs out, voila, fresh batteries & tools at no expense...
I have Hercules products I have Craftsman products which goes back a long ways DeWalt I've owned them all and honestly I don't have a problem with Hercules products they're about the same as any others out there and sometimes when they have a sale you can get some really good prices
I’m watching this video because I have recently bought in to the herc brand and need to see “real world” testing. I’ve watched a lot of torque test channel but I need to see real world performance
Can’t finish my work. I have had my hammer drill for almost 3 months. Working with it the other day and it stopped dead. Battery is charged to full. I’m quite disappointed. Any idea what might be the problem.
There are advantages price wise when buying in a kit but in someone’s like it better cause tools I run for work is Milwaukee I run nothing but HO batteries for my m18 and soon I want to get some for m12 but rarely do the HO batteries come in a kit unless it one of the huge tools I don’t need so custom building the kit I can appreciate
Today you can buy the 8ah battery for $99 and there is a deal (get the drill/driver included ). The charger now is cheaper too $49.99 so $150 total. I inherited a Milwaukee 1/2 drive m28 right angle drill "heavy ass beast" without a charger or battery, for use in driving my sailboat mainsail winch. Needs torque! That M28 is obsolete now and batteries are obscenely pricey so that will be sold. This HF may do the job!
Vince! I've been a subscriber for about two years now and i love to hear your opinions. Do you yhink you could do a review on the new Hercules impact driver? I wanna hear what you have to say about it my man. In REAL time 💪🏽
I started buying hercules tools cause a co worker wanted to buy one but didn’t know if they were worth it, so he was able to convinced me to try them and I now have an addiction to buying tools now 🤣🤣🤣🤣
HAY VINCE LOVE THE VIDEOS..NOT A BIG FAN OF HUCULES TOOLS BUT LIKE HARBOR FREIGHT. I DONT KNOW ITS WAS THE CAMERA ANGLE OR SOMETHING BUT IT LOOKED LIKE WHEN YOU WERE HAMMER DRILLING THAT LAGE BIT YOU WERE IN REVERSE. DONT KNOW HOW BUT IT DEFINITELY LOOKED LIKE THE BIT WAS SPINNING IN REVERSE…….PARTY ON WAYNE
Normally wouldnt buy them. But the addition of the 5year warranty on the new brushless line and and 3 years in the battery is hard to beat. The pricing is really good and the performance is extremely good for the price. The reliability might be a concern but again it has that great warranty. And the batteries are cheap enough where after three years you will probably either have newer or can just go pick up a replacement
After 2.9 yrs walk in and say the battery no longer holds a charge. HF won't quibble they will hand you a brand new battery. Later you can dig the old one out of the trash out back, that is where it will go unless they recycle it.
yep, no hassle exchanges; and if it's a boxed item, many employees don't even bother to examine box to make sure all the parts are there. however, they do put old/returned batteries in a recycle bin inside warehouse; but tools go in dumpster with everything else, and the company itself doesn't prohibit "dumpster diving" (that's up to local laws/ordinances). Just date your batteries/tools with paint pen and take them back before warranty expires, voila, fresh tools and batteries for life... - former HFT employee

9:50 is the drill running in reverse or is it just me
It's running backwards but Vince is putting his 200 lbs into it like a champ.
It do looky like it spinning backerds
Play it at .25 speed and you can see it is.
It’s the frame rate of the camera
@liquidrockaquatics3900 you're the frame rate of the camera
I'd like to have seen that long 1" bit turning loose, to find out if the earlier detected wobble was in the bit holder, or in the chuck.
@@SwampHippie Yes you can! Been there done that!
The wait is over lol, they been around for a few years now!
Thanks for the review!
Nice video!!thank you sir!!
I want to switch to the Hercules line, but they need to expand their tool line like Milwaukee. I like to stick to one battery plarform when I need specialty tools.
I like the new graphics you guys have :)
Were you in reverse drilling the 1 inch in concrete?
yep
Awesome vid glad to see you diversifying into other tool names can’t wait for the next!
Had mine for a year beat the he'll out of it and love the Hercules brand
I love Hercules tools so far. I’ve had kobalt, also dewalt. I’ve been thinking of buying this drill. I wish HF would make a large bundle option like competitors.
Great video and great demonstration
Thanks
I run only Hercules tools and I have had no problem with the ones I have and I work on cars daily.
I got mine for 120 fast charger 5 amp battery and hammer drill ,plus 5 year warranty , it's a no brainer
I think that battery will put a sour taste in many novice users
@@SVMSICE like I said.. Novice
Like you I love tools and have a huge range, as a plumber my go to is Milwaukee but I use dewalt as well, that being said I have Hercules just to see what it can do
I'm watching because I noticed the battery received closely resembled my Makita 18v tools, and I thought I'd learn if they are now factory cousins.
1200 inch lbs . you mean 😅.
@@allanb3222 Yes sir. Human error. I'd hate to be a robot lol.
1200 ft pounds on a drill would twist your hand completely Off Lol 😅
Ty are at the hammer dill big difference from just using drill driver and a hammer drill 😅
LET'S GO Vince 🏁
10:52.. But once you get over that initial expense you're good..you don't need to buy a bunch of chargers, the batteries aren't very expensive and 8AH for a 100 bucks is a h*** of a deal...
HF has my attention Craig!
@@wildbill6976companies downgrade their warranty policies because of crap like that. Don’t stoop
why does it look like that one inch drill is going in reverse?
Noticed that too..
Frame rate of the camera. Watch videos of an aircraft propeller
Hercules now offers a kit two batteries, charger hammer drill/driver and 1/4 inch compact impact driver for 249
I went with Ridgid instead of Hercules but am considering getting Hercules as well because they are a great tool.
Harbor freight is def stepping up to compete with the big league. However so has their prices.
Hercules tools new brushless 5 hour warranty got me to try them out. Any issues I drive to the store 5 minutes away and get a new one.
I want to see the big brands smacked and humbled. 💪🏽
Your covering the cooling fan system 😮
I would love to use Hercules tools after having my ryobi stuff .. they do the job ... it seems like a pro grade tool for a consumer price
I have Hercules products I have Craftsman products which goes back a long ways DeWalt I've owned them all and honestly I don't have a problem with Hercules products they're about the same as any others out there and sometimes when they have a sale you can get some really good prices
Please take a look at skil's new compact 20V line
i want to see this new hammer drill vs the old brushed version
I've found myself getting more specialized tools and misc items at Harbor Freight. SDS Demo Hammers, Wall Breaker Hammers, Hand Tools, Gloves, Alot of potentially throw away items. Drill bits, moving supplies.
Vince my man.... We need more power tool races.
I’m watching this video because I have recently bought in to the herc brand and need to see “real world” testing. I’ve watched a lot of torque test channel but I need to see real world performance
5:56 what's the name of the song?
I already have the ultra torque so prolly getting more 20v stuff
Can’t finish my work. I have had my hammer drill for almost 3 months. Working with it the other day and it stopped dead. Battery is charged to full. I’m quite disappointed. Any idea what might be the problem.
What happened at 9:43?
Hercules new kit drill and hammer drill with 2 batteries 220 cant beat that with a 5 year warranty
You also have the 8 amp hour battery which costs a $100.
Current special till 9/30 it’s $119 5amp battery + 4amp charger and get a tool (eight choices) free.
If you are already in the battery platform a bare tool deal is a deal
I'm not saying it's going to break, but I'm going to break it!!!😂
Vince! I've been a subscriber for about two years now and i love to hear your opinions. Do you yhink you could do a review on the new Hercules impact driver? I wanna hear what you have to say about it my man. In REAL time 💪🏽
I know dewalt is not doin good with their batteries of late...so im switchin to herc.
Thats an expensive test slab you have there. Nice work 😀
All for the #VeryCoolGang Howie!
I started buying hercules tools cause a co worker wanted to buy one but didn’t know if they were worth it, so he was able to convinced me to try them and I now have an addiction to buying tools now 🤣🤣🤣🤣
No go for me. I'll stay with milwaukee if I want a budget tool, I just grab ryobi. Must of the time I rub milwaukee batteries
Yeah, I picked up on that too.....
I love all my Hercules tools.
Good review
Love ur channel
Not for nothing, but you did a video with the big hole saws on a milwaukee drill and it couldnt get through the wood without stopping or struggling.
What the hell is the very cool trailer doing in Camden?
