Just watched this again King Ronnie as he known in Rotherham trains kids at my local 5 a side footie centre and has is own academy .I play footie there and often stop for a chat all things Millers hes is just as big of fan as i am .
Great podcast, some of the most memorable moments watching the Millers under king Ronnie a legend both player and manager, we always wished him well at other clubs, but if he had gone to Wednesday he would have been lynched ! The fans still deny they wanted him or said wasnt good enough when he turned them down. But Hartlepool was a great achievement and the video of the da doo ron ron was a classic
Great pod yet again lads 👏🏻 , can someone have a word with the owners at our beloved macclesfield town as I would renew my season ticket in a heartbeat if Ronnie became our manager instead of Mr ego sol Campbell! I'm convinced he would keep us in the football league 👍🏻
Great interview. Bonus points at the end for Brownie being oblivious to the fact that footballers are professional athletes these days and lots of them don't even drink / would rather have extra training than 3 days off.
Chris Wilder . Best current manager in Football League. Im a Rotherham fan so no bias. Just a genuine belief ...which i think is widely believed across many other club managers ....players.. and to some extent opposing Fans .
Simon Rodgers I was referring to 1:58:30, but I get your point, Chris Wilder is a very good (potentially great) manager, who has worked minor miracles, especially at Oxford, Northampton & Sheffield United.
Re: Ronnie Moore to Ipswich, it's an infamous hoax and the perpetrator of the hoax is known amongst ITFC fans forums. That being said plenty of Town supporters would have happily had Ronnie in the hot seat at the time.
Great interview, seems down to earth and a good guy, I'll even forgive him for coming over to the kop at Hillsborough and bowing when Rotherham beat us 2-0 😆
Rotherham legend and all that. But he got sacked 2nd time around cos he took over a team that was all set for a huge promotion push and destroyed it. We should have been winning that league that season and the performances were terrible. It doesn't matter cos we went up 2 years later but let's not look back and play down just how bad a job he did 2nd time round

This didn't age well... Campbell kept you up
Ronnie wouldn't have touched your club back then, especially now.
Quite simple : LEGEND
You've just gotta love Ronnie.
We love you at Hartlepool ronnie.
Great interview. Bonus points at the end for Brownie being oblivious to the fact that footballers are professional athletes these days and lots of them don't even drink / would rather have extra training than 3 days off.
You obviously don’t know many footballers. Watch the Arsenal documentary, the changing room erupts when he gives them an extra day off
@@undrthecosh I bet Thierry would've been appalled by that too!
Brilliant podcast
55:03 Chris nearly goes flying backwards off his chair
Wrote to this guy for a trial when was head of youth at tranmere in 08
Ronnie Moore was manager in 2008 not head of youth
I got to the academy
35:30 story about Branston twatting someone I'm sure it was Norwich game. Drew 4-4 and he hit Leon Mckenzie
‘Who’s the best manager in the football league?’ Excellent interview/ podcast, these just get better & better (& longer) thankfully.
