So nice to see a Special clear, probably the first person ever to do it! There's a couple things I'd like to point out. - Notice how the laser bomb in stage 4 drained half the chain meter when it ended. AFAIK on other difficulties it drains it completely, so being able to continue the chain is part of Special's lenient chaining. - Kouryuu phase 1 only advances through damage on Special. In other difficulties, it cycles like normal then has a 1.5th (?) phase through damage. Thus, the safespot can't cheese the entire fight, though flying Kouryuu still advances on damage, so that cheese still works.
It's good that we are still able to play these old phone games because a lot of them have been lost to time sadly I'm not too sure about Gradius Neo and it's amazing sequel Gradius Neon Imperial
Well, couldn't believe that this is the only thing for the official pc port. 😂 But I must say they did impressive job for porting this overloaded bullet hell game to JP mobile at that time.
Looks solid for a mobile Java game. I really enjoyed playing mobile versions of Gradius (i-mode) and Contra (Tencent Chinese port) back in mid-2000s. But this DOJ port looks really impressive in terms of dynamic gameplay compared to those Konami games.
"Dodonpachi Daioujou DX is a special port of DOJ that was made for flip phones of the 2005 era of all things" Yeah I am as surprised and confused as you are.
Only in the most basic sense. The only mechanical difference from normal play is that you don't get the 5M per life at the end, which is irrelevant for practicing bosses and scores from it aren't saved anyway. The closest thing to DL would be Special Boss Attack, as that also has double Hibachi.
Dodonpachi: Definitive Edition
LMAO

"Mom, take me to an Arcade. I wanna play DOJ."
"Honey, we have one back home."
*DOJ at home:*
Hey, I was planning to make a meme out of that game.
PS2 emulators exist for a good reason
@@pedroaguiar1057 They all suck tho, unfortunately
That guy playing the snare drum must be super tired.
The crazy man doing solos in there
They actually resurrected Keith Moon so he could do foley effects for this port
Also, of all the things to port a CAVE game to..
Java-based Nokia
*What a madlad*
What's a CAVE game, in this context?
@@SpringySpring04 The company that made the game. Donpachi series, Ketsui, Mushi...
As someone who grow up with java and symbian mobile games, this is impressive
the player ship's bullets look more like a boss than the actual bosses
Every enemy sounds like a popcorn when dies

13:46 Thank goodness Double Hibachi isn’t at their hardest. Imagine if the death label existed on the nokia…
The boss theme is a great ring tone
It's weird but also entertaining for some reason lol
Not a shocker seeing touhou players here lol
@@Takezhu88 says the touhou pfp!
@@SpringySpring04 damn right, I play touhou too
I kinda dig the Nokia-ified version of the boss theme.

Finally DOJ on Steam and it has to be this version
man that hibachi theme isn't even that bad
I was not prepared for the Hibachi theme as played by Timmy and the 3rd grade class

I like the sound of popcorn

god the stage four boss is so nerve wracking in this one
The dodopachi on java phone was never released at outside Japan and can't find it but is only Japan have it phone like G-mode cellphone
So cool! Thanks for sharing.
It´s surely surprising to see this in a Nokia
But
The snare is so funny i cant XD
so is there actually a more accessible form of this game that's playable because I can't believe I'm considering snagging a nokia phone port
Wow, insane
The midi music is sacrilege
DX G-mode DOJ bullet pattern seems like DOJ novice mode if its not with mobile graphic.
DOJ Shitpost Label
I kinda wanna play this

Is Boss Attack similar to Death Label?
