My daughter has just started school age 5 - we have 1.5 hours in the morning. Then 5 hours after school. Then the whole weekend and then 15 weeks of school holiday a year + bank holidays. That's still a lot of time without homeschooling 👍

I guess it’s all relative to what’s your doing with the time you do have. In the morning in my house it’s pretty rushed with packing bags and getting everyone ready. But I’m not a early bird, maybe if I woke up early is would be more relaxed. Again with weekends.. it depends what’s your spending your time doing. A lot of family’s work on the weekend, do house maintenance, visit friends, have appointments… etc. I’m sure if your daughter is 5 she is still spending a lot of time with her parents however as children get older they spend more time alone or with friends. I encourage parents to be the host and have people come to their house rather than your child constantly being in someone else’s home because that just separates families even more and you can’t see or control what bad influences they are being exposed to.
Its also depends what you deems a lot of time. Some argue that a child at school for 8hrs a day is crazy. My niece is 5 and just started school and she is in a nature school which allows up to 3 hr of outdoor time, which is great! But a lot of schools the kids only get outside for a 30 min lunch and a 15 min break. As our children get into older grades they will also have more homework. After school can also be a busy time.
I use to run a dayhome and parents of toddlers would not want their children to nap because they wanted them to sleep good at night, which I understand. However, they drop their kid off at 7 am and pick up at 5. Then their child is grumpy and exhausted because they need sleep! So they go home, have supper, bath and bed. Then repeat that 5 days a week. That means that whoever is the child’s caregiver is the one raising them not the parent.

I'm glad you commented. I'm pregnant with my 1st and already feel guilty about having to use daycare.💔

That question of who is raising the next generation is the primary argument as to why many families choose home education. There is a brilliant video here on UA-cam titled, Children of Caesar by Voddie Baucham (green background. Older video). I think you would genuinely love this video, at least the part one segment.
