While Flaming's Bond tales can be bad I have read far worse book series riding his coattails. I think with Bond part of the reason you can keep with him even with all his problems is one he can have more depth here and there and two there is a avarage guy doing his job feel to him. In the books he doesn't come off as superspy cool guy who beds hot women, he is just a guy whose job happens to be killing people for the govermant. Also he clearly has a drinking problem.
That is why I’ve come to like and prefer the books over the movies. I think Fleming might’ve mentioned that he wrote bond as an ordinary man who gets tossed in EXTRAORDINARY circumstances and situations which is why I like that better, for example Indiana Jones, John mclane and so on and so forth….although they get tossed in fantastical and a little bit over the top situations but they have normal jobs and they get hurt and react to pain like a normal person and have normal jobs when they’re not going on exciting adventures. I think they work and have a timeless appeal because you can relate to them. Also if you can’t read or watch something and acknowledge that it’s OF it’s time and instead be offended then the problem is not it it’s you
“Why doesn’t he do something?” Gee I Don’t Know maybe perhaps because krest has men on his boat and can have bond and fidel killed and thrown overboard if they were to do something
I mean, James Bons is a secret agent. His job is to literally kill people. I don't see why it would be such an obstacle for him, safe for it being in cold blood.
your retelling is a lot more fun than the text. lol.

Great video! Any chance of Drunk Classics coming back in the new year!? 🎉
Thank you for the Ian Fleming reviews. I would like to hear your reviews of some of the continuation novels.
I’m going to do the whole series
