Love the change of direction they were taking during Humbug. About 'emotional connection', that's down to different taste I think, probably because I wasn't even aware of who Arctic Monkeys are (call me thick if you want) when the first album came out. Only discovered them last year and love Humbug at first listen, still remains my favourite album from them.

that's really a good question, but i think that i would never take drugs, because if i did it i would not be myself. I mean, drugs change people, they start acting in a different way. I think that when we, fans, start listen to an artist we are prepared to know that the most probable thing is that they take drugs; I'm not saying that musicians will take drugs for all their life, some when they grow up and have a family they realise that it's not worth destroying themselves

I don't know if they will be playing any of the new stuff there because the album isn't released till late August and I'm seeing them aug.1. I want them to play old stuff though...... this is my dream come true to see them play and I just want to hear/ watch them play all the old stuff that I love before they go all different on me. But the newer music does sound like TLSP... I'm not fond of that. But I could be completely wrong.. .maybe I will end up loving all the new songs!!! I hope so!

Surprisingly I wasn't too impressed by the all-hailed Whatever People Say in the beginning, now that I understand the band more, I started to like it. Albums tend to get better after a few spins, I always try to find what's in the music (melody, lyrics...) . Kinda glad they moved on from the era of the first album, part of a band's journey I guess. No one can be young forever. But that doesn't mean the soul in the music is gone, seek and you shall find.
they are mature and well developed songs, as good as their earlier tunes or better, if you can't understand "evolution" and growing up as a band, well, then bye.
