In the beginning of the program the woman Jane said that they haven't had a chance to make their mark on the house, I'm not surprised, they'd only lived there for 2 or 3 weeks.
The thing about this program is that it's rushed and leaves a horrible unfinished and tasteless look. For the kid's rooms it's not so bad because they will redo them in about 5-10 years anyway but the other rooms are meant to be "stable" for probably the rest of the time that the family would stay there
Colette Adams ikr it could be less rushed or they could name it something to do with 2 hours well that's not what it could be called but something to do with two hours cause they need to make it look less rushed
Obviously the homeowners are NOT all that interested in the long run (at the time of getting all that done [for free?]) = they want it done NOW & aren't concerned about a year or two from now = until that year or two has come & gone with the poor results showing.
60 minutes? I am an expert painter, and paint barely dries in that amount of time. It would have been better to make it a 24 or 48 hour show to give them more time to do a good job. Even to redo a house in that amount of time is amazing--and would allow for a more beautiful home.
@@chloe8676 You mean the family has been sitting outside for a week? They clearly say it was done in 60 minutes with one tea break hence none of the floors were dry. A ridiculous concept for a show. Take your time (one day per room with fewer workers), do it properly then simply air one hour of it with editing.
that wouldn't be a enough time either to do proper job. especially if the homeowner has done it you will have bits in every wall lumps of filler caulking will 9/10 will need cutting out no knots will be sealed wood work will be a peace of crap etc
My dad used to be on the show and he said that they did allow time for the paint to dry and it was longer than 60 mins but the actual decorating was only 60mins
At 40:10 when they enter the master bedroom, they definitely told them about the wet floors and gave them some alternative shoes to stand at the doorway and told them they'll repaint it after the cameras are off. Hence why she laughed while entering the room and looking downwards, as well as only standing next to the door 😂
Having read the comments first, I thought I'd hate it...but I don't! We all know it wasn't done in an hour, just google how these shows are truly done. House hunters have already bought the house, some furniture in the reveal is not left for homeowners, tension between owners/decorators is for drama, etc. I do wonder why they don't change the swing of the door in some rooms so you're stepping into the room, opposed to a wall. The master bedroom needed a large rug and the little girls hanging seat should have been centered in the room. And of course...lots of plants!
the poor girl said she liked light blue, football, and ancient egypt and poor her she got none of that, she got a small not even noticeable football cushion, and not a spec of ancient egypt and LILAC, not even light blue... what kind of thing is that, obviously she was hiding her sadness
2ndWatching: Love remolding shows, they tend to build and create more than destroying as they should, however some designers and helpers do put a lot of effort and heart in creating! #2022❤🧡💛💚💙💜..
They were going flat out, all planned in advance - a sprint not a marathon and all on top of each other. Plus it is Britain - nothing’s done properly without a cup of tea 😉
Paint needs to dry, also sometimes things don't go as planned.. Creating solutions under time pressure is stressy as hell.. It's better to take a break, rethink without a clock rushing you and have a clear view of everything that needs to be done again..
I remember this show being a calamity every episode. Firstly who in their right mind would want a renno done in just 60 minutes even if it's free?! And because it's free the show takes liberty on design aspects that match the owner's wishlist. Almost ending in some gawdy feature that wrecks the room. And not even tricky camera work can hide the shoddy painting and finishes. That said it's entertaining watching them ruin someone else's house.
Cool idea thooooough... wall paper can't be installed fast without appearance issues. May I suggest prepared stencils and stencil brushes. Background paint can be rush dried with blower fans. Could even get fiber boards and pre paint and stencil those and brad nail over problem surface wall.
Well 21 employees Ans 2 Bosses or Designers , Wonder how many times they forget or miss things . This house is a Big Job . To clean out for Starters . Either you find the same Brand and Blend of Paint . 1 Thing is For sure . Suppose to wash all Walls before Painting . If to dirty or another kind of Paint . The Paint will Peel off the Walls . Between these 2 Jobs it time consuming . And do their own thing All Because they don't do as the Person Wants in their Room ! ? __________________________Very Questionable
if you think a room can be decorated in 60 mins yourve never decorated in your life looking at around 4-5 days to complete a room to do a good job. especially if the homeowner has done it themselves.
I don't know what you're all talking about. The rooms like nice especially the living room and the kids rooms. All they need is a few things hung up on the wall so it doesn't look as bare and open. The master bedroom was the worst room. It would look better if they had a better bedframe. It looks awful lol.
you know you scrolled down here to read the comments after having a little perv on these two women, claire and jane and you being sandwiched between the two!
The spokes people are so annoying!! Talk way too much getting on the way of the workers .. please make them stop talking so darned much . Some makeovers are really terrible
What is with so many bright yellow walls & gaudy wallpaper? I haven't seen this one, but so many do that...& they usually look better before than after. They end up with EastEnders fashion. Those decorators have no sense for design. Take a lesson from "escape to thee country"!
This show has got to be a Joke or a spoof or a cancellation in the making. Worst choices of any show I've ever seen you notice I didn't say design choices.
Most modern enamel and latex paints can dry to the touch in 30-60 minutes, especially in a well-ventilated room, where the air circulates freely, either naturally or with fans. However, it takes hours for it to fully cure (i.e., bond with the painted surface). On the other hand, oil-based paints can take many hours to cure, which is why they are rarely used, these days.
It is completely impossible to do a room in 60 minute's, it doesn't matter how many people you have, you just end up in each others way, precedes, paint can take up to 3 hours to dry depending on the walls, boils my piss tbh the title, and the work that is carried out is horrendous, biggest pile of shite on the Tele lol
Episode almost 6 years old. Can't imagine this show lasted very long, or did it? Foolish concept to have people rushing and doing such a sloppy job on everything. How long would that slapdash single layer of paint stay on a floor? If they had time to order furniture there was time to order decent artwork. Just a badly produced show all around. I had assumed it would be a decorator reusing and repositioning what was already in a house seeing as there was only an hour.
In the beginning of the program the woman Jane said that they haven't had a chance to make their mark on the house, I'm not surprised, they'd only lived there for 2 or 3 weeks.
This used to be my favourite daytime show
Are you retired.
I totally love this show. I love the attitude of the people. They are so friendly. And work well together. I hope the show always comes on TV😊
I just love this show on DABL. What a great job !!!
And when they cleaned their house a week later, they relized that their furniture was stuck to the floor...
😅😅😅
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Looooolll 😂😂😂😂
Wish the show would do a comeback
Just watched this in 2024. Those girls would have left school or near graduating. I am sure they have had a great childhood.
I can’t even clean my room In 60 mins 😂😂
Lol

Who pays for it if not the family?
Thank you for uploading this episode!

They've only just moved in. Isn't it cheating to call a makeover team in before you've even tried?
At 40:10 when they enter the master bedroom, they definitely told them about the wet floors and gave them some alternative shoes to stand at the doorway and told them they'll repaint it after the cameras are off. These make over shows are a great cheer up
So glad you're on You Tube; was seeing this on tv and had to find out if I could watch it on the internet; great show!!
The painted floor is so pretty. I love their blue walls.
This house looks old fashion but I am watching this at the bagging of 2018
Megan Davies ‘Beginning*’?
It was made in early 2000

I loved this series.

Indeed!!! They could've done so much with the egypt concept and blue.. And the other girl never mentioned a jungle..
They are fantastic, really wonderful. I wish they would come to my place. Probably too far cause I live in Australia
Brilliant ❤

#2022❤🧡💛💚💙💜..
Watching them do so many things in 60 minutes is giving me a panic attack!!
They can't work for 60 minutes without a tea break?
They were going flat out, all planned in advance - a sprint not a marathon and all on top of each other. Plus it is Britain - nothing’s done properly without a cup of tea 😉
nope its impossible if u live in uk :D
The purpose of the tea break was to give those painted floors time to dry
Paint needs to dry, also sometimes things don't go as planned.. Creating solutions under time pressure is stressy as hell.. It's better to take a break, rethink without a clock rushing you and have a clear view of everything that needs to be done again..
we've only just moved in.... and frankly we just can't be bothered
Why does Julie keep touching Adam?😂😂😂
I remember this show being a calamity every episode. Firstly who in their right mind would want a renno done in just 60 minutes even if it's free?!

And I am whatching this in 2018!!!!
Oh Boy, It's those two again!
When I looked at the most ugliest bed it burned my eyes
Welcome to 2004
looks lovely but think a carpet in each room would make it even better..thumbs up❤❤
Cool idea thooooough... wall paper can't be installed fast without appearance issues. May I suggest prepared stencils and stencil brushes. Background paint can be rush dried with blower fans. Could even get fiber boards and pre paint and stencil those and brad nail over problem surface wall.
I'm not going to lie.. I always count backwards with them before the whistle blows.
Omg! I bet the family wished they could get those 60 minutes back so they didn't have to have such an eyesore makeover! 🤪
anymore eps u can upload?
can't do a ok job in 60 minutes ... its silly to try
Jermilia oh well..

Rubbish iv never used the same paint my walls or doors have ever peeled!
It's always nice to know that one's second floor bedroom feels " solid" Ffs.!
if you think a room can be decorated in 60 mins yourve never decorated in your life looking at around 4-5 days to complete a room to do a good job. especially if the homeowner has done it themselves.
Glad this is not my house would have to run away 😊
I am soo strange and watching this in 2020 and am like wow
this is really funny..how do you get in a house just painted..they slept in the garden😂😂
Recorded on Friday 24th October 2014

Did they ever make any prints of this POP art??? my 3 year old loves 60 minute makeover
I'm seeing some of the same clothing trends today!
where can u watch this?
£600 for a cheat of drawers in 2004? Madness!
Why weren't they using rollers to paint the walls?
I'm watching in 2020 this channel is basically what I watch. I like the men decorator the men has a more sophisticated style.
60 minute makeover -
an Inspector Calls!
have not seen this host for ages on television is always the very skinny one lately
Aqua T-shirt needs a support bra and someone to screen her before leaving home.
Lovin' those milk maker 😛
i think it needs a week to dry..😂😂❤❤
They should add 30 minutes for every additional floor at least
Well, they got a quick repaint. The end.
also who the hell wants to keep an 1233 century TV!!!
siddique mohammed it was the 90s
It was actually 2004
Bring back the show on dabl
Silly idea! What’s the point of a 60 minute rush? Do it in a day and then they could at least make it looked more finished
Easy, if you have an army of people to help (or hinder!).
😊😊😊
As a professional painter impossible
I don't know what you're all talking about. The rooms like nice especially the living room and the kids rooms. All they need is a few things hung up on the wall so it doesn't look as bare and open. you know you scrolled down here to read the comments after having a little perv on these two women, claire and jane and you being sandwiched between the two!
I don’t like this show at all they always like always make the houses look awful
Don't watch it so much and I'll remember not to read your facile messages.
That is the ugliest mess I have ever seen. If I was the owners, I'd have been furious at that awful looking mess.
They got it for nothing - get the feeling you'd be the kind of Karen that would expect the world to bow down and kiss your arse
She needs to get her hands off someone else's man and did you see how he squeezed her hips?!
Those racks are distracting and i am not talking about the house 😂
Rack rack city
That bed in the master bedroom is hideous before and afterwards. Overall not a fan.
THE FIREPLACE LOOKS AWFUL
Brilliant👏👏👏
Why in one hour??? Why don't you take 3 hours and do a less stressful makeover?
Looks a right mess. Id go mad
Painful watching people destroy a structure
The spokes people are so annoying!! Talk way too much getting on the way of the workers .. please make them stop talking so darned much . Some makeovers are really terrible
What is with so many bright yellow walls & gaudy wallpaper?

Where's her body gone 20:49

Cggg
The bed in parents room is as ugly as hell

I will never understand English ideas about homes and decor. To me it's just awful
