- Reaction To Kaya Yanar Roasts Turkey, Germany, Croatia and Denmark (German Comedy)
This is my reaction to Kaya Yanar Roasts Turkey, Germany, Croatia and Denmark (German Comedy)
In this video I react to German comedian Kaya Yanar and his English standup routine talking about German and Turkish culture and the languages of Croatia and Denmark
Original Video - • Kaya Yanar English Sta...
Never seen Kaya performin in english before and its great that he can do his signiture play with accents quite as well as in german
Same here xD
Genau das hab ich auch gedacht!😊
Dito!
Im from Germany and we have sooo many outstanding comedians here, kaya is one one of the top 3
Kaya is definitely my most favorite current german comedian. Loved his TV show when I was a kid, when I went to one of his live performances I literally never stopped laughing (I was so wasted afterwards, positively). He also started doing UA-cam videos since covid restricted him from doing live performances for a while and still continues to upload (laughing challenges, reactions, video games etc.) in addition to live acts.
I love seing Kaya playing horror games. It's so fun 😂
His comedy is, generally speaking, quite inclusive, appreciative, in good faith, self-ironic, nuanced, with just a tad of exaggeration, never cynical, never too acidic or divisive. It is observant rather than judgemental.
Most common immigrants in germany (2022): Turkey (2,8 Mio.), Poland (2,2 Mio.), Russia (1,4 Mio.) and Romania (1,1 Mio.)
Though Russian afaik also includes former German settlers, Chechnyens and stuff, not just ethnic Russians.
Bülent Ceylan is a German comedian with a Turkish father and a German mother, he was raised in the city of Mannheim and talks in the dialect of this city. He plays some figures like „Anneliese“ a wife of a rich merchant, „Harald“ a Building supervisor and many more.
This man kills me. Kaya was in my city and I had to leave after 60 minutes. I could not breathe due to laughing without any pause.
This man is funny. He can be found on YT reading from eBay. Whenever I have a rough day, I watch one of his videos.
kaya is a comedian for over 13+ years.. i grow up with him.. he's a legend
I like him a lot...I've seen him like 2-3 times in a live show, when he visited our town. He's quite hilarious and as a German with different migration background I can relate a lot to him. :) I think, he now lives in Switzerland with his Swiss wife and a child.
I've never seen him perform in english before and it's just as funny as in german! 😂 Thanks for that!
Kaya is one of my favorites. Kaya ist klasse
Kaya Yanar manages to make fun of cultures wizhout being too insulting. He treats stereotypes as equals and never goes too far. One more thing: I watched a reaction video of him. What he laughed most at wasn't deeply intellectual but something totally silly (i think something like a small child sounding like an alarm siren while becomming upset)!
I know that video! Made me laugh so much xD
Watching his show "was gucktst du?" as a kid was always a highlight!
Kaya Yanar is great! Most people love him because he is such a nice guy but simultaneously he doesn't hold back for anyone xD
Yeah, as a German Kaya Yanar and Michael Mittermeier are actually my favourites! We often quote both of them in my family. "Smrt" is one that frequently comes up 😂
funnily enough death in turkish is not really harsh sounding either ^^ ölü means death in turkish ^^
I guess you saw "The Hobbit" Smaug dubs in different languages...
@@peteraffinass yes, but I knew what the word was beforehand. But honestly, I had to laugh because it was just so unexpectet. Definitely no offense to the language and those who speak it intendet.
I do recommend to watch "Vince Ebert". He has a lot of stuff in english. Here I recommend to watch:
"Why the Germans invented the Flachspüler"
or
"German Humor meets American mentality"
Awesome stuff. He also refers to himself as Science Comedian
Kaya is a german comedian legend. I grew up with all those shows. Nowadays he has a twitch channle and still runs a comedy show
Kaya also streams on Twitch for a while now and he found his Miss Yanar. He lives in the Switzerland but still is Famous Comedian for a whole Generation.
The best comedian TV Show of him is "Was Kickstarter du?" , so best you must watch it too, its the funniest Show of him "Was Kickstarter du?" ^^
Kaya is fantastic. Saw him live, laughing my a... Off. . I met him after the show. In private athmosphere he is a very calm and modest person. 🙏
Kaya einfach ne legende
Kaya Yanar is a telling his VERY Turkish version of this part of German Turkish history: the first Turkish workers came in 1961, 16 years after WW II in accordance with a german-Turkish recruitment treaty of 1961. So the claim of some Turks that they were the ones to rebuild Germany after the war is without valid foundation. Because: During the 1950s, years before the Turks, it was Italien, Spanish, Greek and Portuguese workers who had been coming to Germany on similar inter state recruitment treaties with their respective countries. That was when the German „Wirtschaftswunder“ happened (long before the Turks) - an unprecedented booming of the German economy that created more jobs than the Germany could fill by herself. Only when those - European - sources were exhausted Germany turned to Turkey in 1961. About 900.000 Turkish workers came till 1973. On November 23 of 1973 Turkish recruitment was officially revoked by the German government who was however lenient in the matter of „Familienzusammenführung“, the rejoining of families which many Turkish worker took as an opportunity not only to have their wives resettle in Germany but whole extended families with 4 grandparents and numerous brothers and sisters with their whole families.
Kaya i my favorite comedian, i love him and he is also on UA-cam and twitch 😁💪🏻My mom saw him in our hometown in Ostfriesland /Germany 😊
NICE, Kaya in english
i only knew him from TV & YT 😅 THX👍
So I am proud that Kaya spoke English so well - but in terms of level ... he is not a cabaret artist but a comedian, like Michael Mittermeier. ... From my point of view, political cabaret is of higher quality, because it deals with important topics.
Well let's say it's like the difference between "entertainment" and "politics". They're both hold incredibly important functions in society and actual they're best in combination.
Because as muchvad I love our satire, it's often somewhat traumatic and devastating through the laughter. So sometimes you just need the light hearted laughter that is really JUST healing and not "trying to patch you through the process of shattering"
They both equally require a lot of skill. It's just that the skill sets are different. Comedy requires a lot of everyday observation of people. Satire requires a lot of research and "the guts to look where the sun don't shine" 😅

Kaya is great. He was very popular in the early 2000s when he had his own comedy show.
Kaya´s comedy had a big influence on me and my classmates about 12-13 years ago.His "Was guckst du?" was so frickin Iconic
I also recommend Torsten Sträter and Dieter Nuhr …😂
Hahaha, i come from Croatia. Didn't know it sounds like this
My favourite German Comedians are Günther Grünwald and Serdar Somuncu. Especially Somuncu has some serious dark humour wich is right up my alley.
in the end, Kaya found his wife. In Switzerland. Guess what he does with our Swiss german?🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
oooh i LOOOVE Kaya, he is so insane natural clumsy, especially his facial expressions and different used accents are great ❤❤❤❤
This is really interesting, Iam from germany and I know Kayar Yanars German Shows, but I don't know that he also performing in english and also with such an "german history" - based programm. But it's very interesting ^^
So Iam part of this hilarious chain - A german, that watches on an foreign country UA-cam channel about german content (if Iam right) an well known german comedian, who is performing in english with different accents about germany. xD
I´m from Germany and I love Kaya
Thank you, Mert, you made my day! Love your channel 😀
I love how his humor translates so well to english 😀😅
I've had the pleasure to watch Kajar live twice in Germany. I actually never heard of him performing before an English or American audience - in english 😆
Please, PLEASE comment on Gerhart Polt and his Mai Ling routine. It's the best routine that's ever been written in German satire!
There is a film that’s called “Superagent Ranjid” THIS IS MY FAVORITE FILM WOOW SO GOOD. I have a cow her name is Bonita hehe
We have many good Comedians 👏
I only Watch your Videos because of you. The best Language on Earth! Greetings Bo
I love Kaya Yanar, because his comedy program isr just awesome. And I love Bülent Ceylan, Ralf Schmitz too.
Have we had Otto Walkes already? A must watch if you enjoy dark humor.
absolute legend - very iconic german comedian - same as Loriot and Olli Dittrich
Kaya yanar on top my friend
I saw him live 6 or 7 years ago. He was so so great! And he also did some great improp 😂 Super funny ❤
Kaya is the best, he's super funny and creative
As stated by many others he had multiple shows in the tv and had a lot of different characters he played. He is actually streaming content on twitch from time to time so if you wanna talk to him you can get him there by chance actually and maybe he will gove you some impressions of his old work :)
Hes the best german comedian!
He streams on twitch occasionally too if i saw that right. Never watched him but saw him in the recommendations a couple of times.
He was really big in end 90's early 2000's , I love these guys transferring their comedy to English language. It seems to work well:)
Kaya is my favorite comedian, he's the best 😂
You should also check out female German comedians, like Anke Engelke or Martina Hill. They are great!
these days there are only two funny artists left in Germany: NIKOLAI BINNER & SALIM SAMATOU - need to check them out!
Kaya has a UA-cam and Twitch Channel these days and the situational comedy he creates on the spot is amazing.
One of my favs of his was when he moved his studio and couldn't find a way to connect his gaming controller to his computer because he couldn't find the cable in his moving boxes....it turned into 20 minutes of pure improvised comedy lmao
Hast du einen Link zum Video? Ich verfolge Kaya eher seltener auf Twitch
@@eddiephoenix9698 ua-cam.com/video/36X6sRXmXe0/v-deo.htmlsi=YI_6QPac3HqeOgm6 have fun :)
I saw Kaya Yanar live, but only once. And that was like 20 years ago! But I frequently watch his youtube channel "KAYA Backstage". It's in german language, of course!
Another german mutli-talent-comedian is "Helge Schneider" ... I am pretty sure, that I mentionend him before in my comments. Give his performance "Helge Schneider - I was born (Blues) | 02.03.17 Stuttgart" a try ... if you're into blues! Otherwise it might be boring for you. But I think that's (only) one of the rare english acts he got. Maybe some other user might know, if he did more english stuff...!? o_O
Sorry - me again! Maybe you want to check out "Helge Schneider - De La Torseo Al Campo Testo" ... it's not in english, but in fake (!) spanish! It's uptempo and not so "boring" and slow as his blues song! :)
man i love ya for doin this vids 🙂
Yes Germany love Kaya bc he is playing with stereotypes but always cute loveable and non and many german love this walk on the knife edge
everybody knows Kaya Yanar in germany 😂
he makes UA-cam now and he found Mrs. Yanar (she is from switzerland) and he is a father already
Kaya was a very famous guy. His fame decreased around 2015 but he is still known.
😁 Great reaction. Nothing more to say. 😁😊
If you ever want to watch something longer with him, I would recommend - with english subtitles then - "Reiz der Schweiz" (~ Charm of Switzerland). I've grown up with Kaya and he is still funny, 20+ years later. :D
i guess it would be hard to find someone in germany who dont know kaya or never saw his face somewhere
Kaya is the best!!!! also Buelent Ceylan is god,as well 😆😁
I recommend one of our best female comedians: Anke Engelke!
I recommend Öszan Cosar and Lisa Eckhart, an Austrian comedian.
My favorite german comedian is Johann König, sadly he doesn't make any English conent, but the way he presents his comedy is just great: :D
It's more light hearted stuff. Easy laughs, good vibes. :)
Mirko Nontschew was one of the best German comedians for me, you should watch him.
If you want to see a comedian of Turkish origin who isn't soft-spoken, watch Serdar Somuncu. Saw him on tape and live. The man doesn't mince his words. Cheers from Germany
Never heard him speaking English. That was interesting.
If you can find anything i English by Wladimir Kaminer, he's a genuinelky good German comedian,
not the flat stand-up comedy type, he's got a bit of a story to tell, and he tells it genuinely well.
I would recommend Josef Hader, he's an austrian cabaret artist and actor. The problem is, it's hard to find a performance with decent english subtitles. The automatically generated ones are not really usefull, because the automatic translator has it's problems with austrian dialect.
I forgot how ridiculous our language can be
smrt - Death
krk - name of a croatian island
vrt - garden
prst - finger
brz - fast
tvrd - hard
Enjoy our language.
My Favorit comedian is mirco nontschew ...
4:15 Berlin is said to be the biggest Turkish city outside of Turkey (about 106,000 Turkish citizens, in total about 200,000 people of (immediate) Turkish descent = around 6% of all inhabitants in Berlin). But that is not as much as it sounds. According to the Berlin office for statistics a total of about 1.5 millions out of 3.85 million Berliners has a "migration background" (whatever that means). Some other states in Germany have also high percentages of foreigners and immigrants, especially such with highly industrialized urban agglomerations like NRW (17% foreign citizens in total; about 2.7% or 485,500 Turkish citizens) and Baden-Württemberg (16.4% foreign citizens in total; 2.25% or 250,885 Turkish citizens).
Another great comedian of Turkish descent would by Bülent Ceylan from Mannheim - but there are not many videos showing him with English subtitles (and automatic translation will mostly not work, because he performs parts of his gigs in the very special Mannheim dialect). I found this: ua-cam.com/video/wwvlYQ7cwPM/v-deo.html with well translated subtitles.
Also very popular: Abdelkarim (his parents immigrated from Marokko), e.g. ua-cam.com/video/s1BjhmCGMLE/v-deo.html
I like Kaya Yanar, the best is, when he imitates the indians. Maybe you can make some more videos with him?
He also got his own UA-cam channel
Not sure if he has english videos but I enjoy Tddi Teclebran alot
Kaya is also a UA-camr.
About the size of the Turkish community in Germany. Berlin is the third largest in the world after Istanbul and Ankara.
7:20 i'm from Croatia, and everything he say is true :D
Kaya Yanar has his own Channel here. You should check him out. Maybe he can do a reaction to this (which would be amazing!)
He is a great comedian and gamer.
You should also try Paco Erhard! :-D
I am German and I honestly didn't know we even had comedians
Yes, the biggest community is the Turkish sometimes Kurdish community.
And Kaya Yana is very good, he always plays with different cultures, like India.
I know, there is also an English show of Vincent Ebert.
Yes many city parts are called little Istanbul so yes turks in West Germany are the biggest ethnicity
Kayer Yaner lebt Heute in der Schweiz und ist mit einer Schweizerin verheiratet.
Im from germany, Kaya is amazing also his UA-cam Channel, the second best is Olaf Schubert and Felix Lobrecht
I ❤ him! And he is vegan.🙏
The otrher comedian's name is not Mirco but Michael Mittermeier
The reality was, Germany rebuilt it’s country ONLY by themselves. The workers from Italy and others came here in the 60s, when allmost everything important was allready rebuilt! Germany didn’t ask Turkye to send workers over here. Germany made a contract with Italy and THEN Turkye wanted also to have the opportunity to work here. And they never left. The beginning of the end.
Gastarbeiter. It was also Italians, but they integrated faster. Probably due to the common religion.
At the moment Chris Tall is quite a name in comedy. Maybe you should watch his videos next.
Watch Johann König 👑
If u look for someone who has already peformed in english for a long time michael mittermaier would be smthg to look into. If u dont mind watching something in german, and u want something very out of the box i recommend serdar somuncu. Hes very provocative at first but has also parts in his show that really kick you in de face about overthinking things - kinda like volker pispers but more.. modern i guess.
Edit: Sorry u already know mittermaier
2:22 Mert: "A German comedian of Turkish heritage doing an Indian accent in English"
Also Mert (according to his channel info): Scottish Guy. Living In Malaysia. Learning About Germany. 😂😂
Thought he will be using the "dodelijk" one. In German he also uses the swedish translation for Batman: "Läderlappen" (sounds like German Lederlappen = piece of cloth made from leather)
Spoiler alert: He married a Swiss woman and now makes fun of us (which we love!) 😂🇨🇭
His wife is a horse rider and they live in Zürich. They have two kids.
in Russian we've got a joke about the word of 9 letters containes with only one vowel. (in the end))))))))))) 'взбзднуть' )))))))))))))))))
Very cool :D
