Shannon, I cannot tell you how many times I've come back to this video to admire your FABULOUS flowers and practice making my own. Thank you for posting this, I'm hooked on making them!
***** I am SO glad you are making your own! Thanks so much for watching and commenting!
+Shannon Green I'm baaack! I was going through my Pinterest and rediscovered this video. It's been too long since I've made these fun flowers. So I promptly went out to my craft studio, grabbed my deli paper and container of pens and I'm now sitting on my bed getting ready to dive in. There's something about this video that comforts me. You're so calm and meandering throughout the entire process. Thanks again for sharing this craft that's brought me such joy.
I am a strong beliver to use the tools that God gave me. LOL MY HANDS. Loved your tutorial. Very informative and the finished flowers are some of the best I have seen this far. Thank You so much for sharing your technique with us. I thought I had a lot of markers till I saw your stash. LOL I have just a little.
Celine Barberio Thanks so much for watching! Hands are my favorite tools since I rarely misplace them ;)
Good job, Girl. Love your flowers. I am sitting here in my recliner with my headphones on while HeHimself is watching baseball with my hands and feet dancing to your music. After 46 yrs of marriage, this silliness does not even rate a second look from him. He does know that Shannon is the funny lady from Texas, though. Hugs, Gloria
Ha! "Normal" is relative ;)
Shannon, these are great! It is about One a.m. here and thanks to you I can make a five petal flower! I got it on the first try, thank you so much. I just made one and left it on hubbies pillow with an I Love You on it. You are a peach!
Apple Sauce That's fantastic!! They're crazy-easy right? I just love things like that.
Wow theses are amazing! I loved it when you put the alcohol on them. It was like magic! LOL Great use for the pony beads! Awesome doodles too! TFS
Thanks so much Linda!
Another triumph from the free spirit, loving life school of Shannon. I like it!!!!
Thanks so much!
You did a great job with the instructions. I was able to take a piece of scrap paper and make a flower the very first time. LOL Thanks for sharing Shannon.
Woo hoo! Thanks for watching!
Thanks for doing the search for the folded flowers! I never would have thought to look for that. Love the color smooshes and doodles you do!!! :)))
I hate cutting out flowers where you have to trim around each individual petal. Blech, ptooey! There's another version that I've seen before where you fold the square into a triangle and go from there. I never could get that one to turn out right...always got one petal bigger than the rest! This one comes out right every time.
I love when an idea pops in my head while watching you, then you do it and it turns out gorgeous.
I love when someone gets and idea from watching my videos! That's why I make 'em :)
I can't stop watching your videos! LOL on the scissors that can cut through bone.
Love. Love these flowers!! Tfs👏🤗
Ty for the flower making tip! Lol on your funny comment about the scissors! I'm going to have fun making these when I get some deli paper next week. Got the garage cleaned and now I have a load of mixed media supplies! Should probably start there with the gelli pad. So many options so many things to do. Ty for all the inspiration you have given me!
+Grayce Kelly You are most welcome and thank YOU for watching!
Wondorous! Love the zentangle doodling between them at the end too. Alcohol smush really gives them a dreamy look!
Thanks for watching!
I learned so much today: scribble and smooch and flowers! Experimented and found it is also the perfect technique for perfect 5-point stars, too!
Love the flowers Shannon!
Thanks Gina!
I love these, and thanks for the heads up on cutting 5 petal flowers....I appreciate the lessons!

Thanks so much, Holly, I appreciate that!
I love this! You've already got me making paper beads, now it looks like I need to make deli flowers. I have a ton of gelli prints on deli paper that would be perfect for this. And thank you for sharing about melting pony beads. I have a ton that I inherited from my husband's first wife (she died) that I wondered what I would do with them. Now I know! I even have a toaster oven I use for polymer clay so I can bake these outside.
You are all set to go! I'd love to see pics of your gelli printed flowers...bet they would look great.
SO SO pretty and I have a BOX of Deli paper just waiting to turn into some flowers! Thanks for sharing!!

Awesome flowers! Thank you for the 5 petal flower idea; it works great. I made some of these with my alcohol markers and alcohol inks. The inks made the colors a little more vivid. I liked the effect of dripping alcohol on top. Thanks!
You're very welcome!
Love these flowers! Tfs.
G-G- Gaia THanks for watching!

Thank YOU for watching!
These are so pretty. Thanks for the folding technique. I could never get mine to turn out right when I tried folding and cutting. They looked like a butterfly. I'm off to make some.
There's another technique where you fold the square into a triangle shape first instead of a rectangle. I never could get that one to come out right :)
Love them. Thanks for sharing the 5 petal flower and link. :-)
THanks for watching!

Great idea, thanks!
💎XO🌹XO💘XO💜XO💎
This is definitely one of my favorite things I've seen you do:) Think I will try them. However, I have no idea where to get deli paper...help! Thanks for sharing your creativity.
You can order it online from Amazon, or someplace like Costco or Sam's. But it isn't really required for this technique. You could used waxed paper, tissue paper, parchment paper, etc.
neat, thank you!
Thanks for watching!
i like yours,i need to get my markers out now.
Thanks!
yay...it worked!!! I have been trying to figure this out for so long...saw another UA-camr doing it, but I just didn't "get it"!
I love the flowers. I'm wondering if I could use material???? Need to give it a try. Thanks for the awesome video.
I don't see why not, go for it!
Love them, but we don't get deli paper in the Uk, so not sure what I could use.......any ideas folks?
They are truly beautiful!!!! May I try to copy the way you did them?
Please do! And if you come up with any improvements please let me know!
Wonderful! Thank you for showing how to make a nice flower.
What is Deli paper? Can you do this also on other paper? Also the little dots you made from those beads (?)
Greetings,
Maud.
Deli paper is similar to waxed paper or parchment paper. You can use any kind of paper you want to and color it with markers, inks, paint, etc.
Is there any thing that i can use instead of buying deli paper? Thanks for your help
Yeah...I bought a toaster oven for plastic melting at the thrift store...and use it outside....in the winter cuz phoenix is hot in the summer.
After killing several toasters we switched to a toaster oven, which I love, but we've had it for years and I'm sort of tired of looking at it. I'm considering replacing it with a newer model and using the old one as my craft oven. I'm sure my family would appreciate me not heating toxic craft supplies in our regular oven anymore!
Great video. Did you use the dull or shiny side for painting? Tks.
I didn't really pay much attention but I think I used the shiny side. Either will work fine.
Until recently, I had a whole jar (250 ml) of those halfbeads you in the middle of flowers give. Do not know where to apply them and threw ...
Thanks for the video!
That happens to me a lot! See? We should never throw anything away ;)
Fantastic!!!
Question: Is deli paper the same as freezer wrap?
A Adams It's not freezer wrap, it's not waxed paper, it's not parchment paper. It's a totally different thing. It's usually called deli paper, deli wrap, dry waxed paper, or bakery paper.
Where do you get your deli paper from? Do you actually go to the deli section of Kroger and ask for it or do they sell it somewhere in the store?
Pink Poodle Crafts To be honest...I've never bought deli paper. Heh :) Every time I complain about not having any, someone sends me some! It's amazing how that works. LOL I will have to buy my own someday and when I do I will get it from Amazon. They have a couple of different options to choose from. Just make sure it's the dry wax kind.
Awesome... I need me some of these mystical deli paper fairies! :) I will be checking the Amazon fairy for now! :)
I love these...they are beautiful. I didn't read every single one of your comments yet, so I hope I am not repeating this but, just a word of caution. Whilst sitting on sofa, watching TV and doodling....don't eat the plastic centers...they look an awful lot like M&Ms......just sayin'
LOL That is sage advice that I will do my best to remember! Thank you! :)
Just had a thought...would waxed paper from the grocery work the same?
It should work pretty much the same. Give it a shot!
I'm afraid to melt the pony beads inside. I have enough health issues without breathing in the fumes from the plastic. Was your doggie okay with it? I am afraid for my kitty. I love how they turned out though, and those enamel dots are so darn expensive. Hmmmm.... Will have to come up with something. I am in an apartment so even if I could find another toaster oven, no where to hook it up outside to cook em. . . Any ideas oh crafty one? :-)
Hhhmmm. Do you have a good heat gun? I don't know if that will work but it might be worth a try. And wear one of those painter's mask thingies cuz you sure don't need one more health issue!
what was the white pen that you used? TIA
sue cole That was a Posca paint pen.
Is there a difference between deli paper and wax paper?
Lynn Barth Yes there is. Deli paper is also known as dry waxed paper. It doesn't have that waxy coating on the outside like wax paper does.
Shannon! Help! I MUST be doing something wrong when I make these.... There is ALWAYS one spot in between two of the petals that does not match the rest of the flower. Its not symmetrical....I have watched this video a few times, and I cannot for the the life of me figure out what I am doing wrong...Its making me nuts! LOL! Any advice?
I know exactly what you're talking about and in this video at about 3:00 from the start, I talk about how sometimes your folding can cause you to miss a little space when you cut and I show you how to fix that. ua-cam.com/video/WvqULG8vDsM/v-deo.html
Thank you so much! I LOVE to make these flowers for so many different applications! But, I couldnt figure out what the HECK I was doing wrong! I just kept trimming them after I opened them. Thanks for the response. You are awesome, BTW. Great Channel!
What exactly is deli paper? TFS
It is also called dry waxed paper.
You must be worried about us falling asleep since you blast us with loud music every so often. Love your art work. Hate the music.
Thanks for watching!
Why do I end up with a TEN petal flower? LOL
LOL Ummm, you're twice as talented!
I think it's just that I can't follow directions!
:)
can we be swap and happy mail buddies
Tamiko Lemon That's so sweet of you to offer Tamiko, thank you! Unfortunately I don't have the time right now to do any kind of swaps but I truly do appreciate your offer!
LOL @ grow a third ear. If my kids had a third ear maybe they would listen to me a little better.
LOL Start melting those beads!!
