This music, that scene.. "Hearing your laughter once again I hear my Nicky, your dear father. But you have the beauty of mother, Alexandra, Empress of Russia". - Dowager Empress That she (the real Anastasia) did. A beautiful, beautiful and touching score.
Dowager Empress Marie: "You were the boy weren't you? The servant boy who got us out. You saved her life and mine and you restored her to me. Yet you want no reward?" Dimitri: "Not anymore." Dowager Empress Marie: "Why the change of mind?" Dimitri: "It was more the change of heart. I must go." *bows*
I love the way that you can hear "Journey to the Past" in this piece. It ties together the beginning and how far Anastasia's come so well. There's a contrast between that piece, a hopeful and anticipating one, to this one that reflects the changes that she's gone through to get this far.
I always love the moment when the crown is placed on Anastasia’s head at 00:40. This music captured my heart at 8 years old, I’m now 34 & I still feel the same excitement as I did back then, whenever I hear it. The power of music is truly limitless.
I wish I could grab this song and put it on my heart or on my soul, so I could not just listen, but feel all of these bright feelings I have when I listen to it! It's like I've reached the highest level of happiness, I love these soundtracks!
This is one of those 'kick you in your feels so damn hard' kind of music......even for my 9 year old self,I could feel all the emotions entwined with this movie.....now I'm 26 and still feel those same heart wrenching emotions ....*sigh
That moment were very amazing and shows that Dimitri really put Anya happiness before his own wish Anastasia should have been in Kingdom Hearts III game.
Day Five after losing my Grandma 💔 This movie was one of our favourites to watch when I was little. Hearing this soundtrack brings back so much - Christmas Days, watching her put her perfume on in her vanity mirror, decorating the Easter Tree, her hand on my forehead when I was sick, drawing at the kitchen table, dancing in the kitchen, seeing how her face lit up when I went to see her, baking with her on warm spring afternoons, feeling her arms around me in a hug I'll never feel again, seeing her awe and pride at the sight of me in my wedding gown. Grandma, I'd do anything to have just one of those days back, or even just an hour. I love you and I miss you
at least you will have those memories... sometimes memories can be one of the most valubule things you can have... I lost my great-grandma a few weeks ago, at her funeral I remembered her walking around with her walking stick, then wheelchair, and by a flash of an eyes she was sick... in bed... next thing i know shes in heaven... I'm sorry for your loss
Dear Anastasia, I hope you are reminiscing the happy times in the heavens with your family including your Grandma, the Dowager Empress Maria Feodorovna. God bless you all!
One of the most magical films I've had the pleasure of seeing as a young girl. Gorgeous gorgeous music that I will never be over even now in my thirties, and a hauntingly beautiful story and sadder history.
2023 and came back to listen this masterpiece. I don’t know why, but almost all the song makes me cry, I can’t explain but the feelings and nostalgia of childhood times uf hit so hard!
Man this is such an emotional piece…I love how the musicians used the music to help you feel all the hope and happiness in this scene that the characters feel.
FINALLY, I FOUND THIS SONG!!! i've been looking for this ever since i was 4, and now i'm 24!! thank you UA-cam AND PRUE126 FOR UPLOADING THIS! GOSH, I'M SOO HAPPY AND FEEL LIKE I WANNA CRY! I REALLY LOVE ANASTASIA AND ALL OF ITS SOUNDTRACKS, SHE'S MY FAVOURITE PRINCESS!
I'm 34, have listened to this song since I was a little child and my mother left me to be raised by my grandmother. As a child I couldn't put my finger on why it made me so happy and sad at the same time. Now that I have children of my own and my grandmother is in her 80s, I think I finally get it. It's a memory that isn't sad yet, but will be very soon. Anticipated loss.
Back here at this well loved song at 36…and past me was right, the memories are so sad. But also really sweet and important. I miss you, Grandma. I hear your voice inside me all the time.
My favorite music of this movie and what make it better is the memory if the scene of the movie during this music , so powerful brings tear to my eyes . 2016 and i just watched this movie for the first time .
This film kickstarted my obsession with the last Tsar of Russia and his family. Very sad when you know that the Dowager Empress lived for a further ten years after Nicholas, Alexandra and the 5 children were killed. Until the end, she clung to the belief that Nicky was alive. You can only imagine the relief she would have felt if Anastasia or another of her grandchildren had somehow survived. Dowager Empress Maria died in 1928 at the age of 80 having outlived 4 of her 6 children.
Anastasia: Now I remember everything and how I loved them. Empress Maria: They would not want us to live in the past, not now that we have found each other. Oh look at this, the drawing you gave me Remember? Anastasia: Oh yes, Olga made me furious. He said it looked like a pig riding on a donkey. She was right. Hahahahahaha Empress Maria: In your laughter once again I hear my Nicky, your dear father. But you have the beauty of your mother, Alejandra. Empress of all Russias.
I love the intertwining of Anya's and the dowager empress's themes here, two souls looking for answers from their past, and they found each other :') 💚
My gramma had a stroke a few months ago, and ever since, she's been in-and-out of awareness of her surroundings. This song reminds me of all the stories we shared, and how we used to sit up in her room in front of her vanity- me trying on her old necklaces, and she powdering her cheeks. I miss her so much, and while she's not gone- this song just brought all that nostalgia back in one fell swoop.
Awwww this comment made me cry not only because I went though something similar with my great grandma and now my grandma who suffers from Alzheimer’s it’s the worst feeling when only you can remember the wonderful memories of the past
this is the kind of melody that one cannot describe by words! it makes me actually feel like i lived in that moment! where the world still had some romance!
1:36 Grandmama: You were the boy weren't you? The servant boy who got us out, you saved her life and mine, then you restored to me. Yet, you want no reward? Dimitri: Not Anymore... Grandmama: Why the change of mind? Dimitri: It's more change of heart, I must go. That part really got me
I lost my grandmother earlier this year and my other grandmother has to sadly go into a nursing home what I’m trying to say is spend as much time with your grandmothers you never know how long you will have them for.
“You have the beauty of your mother, Alexandra.” She really did. Just look at any photos of Alexandra as a child and Anastasia at roughly the same age and you'll see the almost uncanny similarities.
there's something pretty nice about the part that goes from 1:20 to 1:45... It feels like when you've long been apart from a beloved someone and the time to meet them again finally comes. It's like sinking in the feeling, there's a sense of emotion and nostalgia, but infinite bliss all at once.
I don't know why this soundtrack didn't become popular because it's so amazing. Maybe it's just 1 opinion, but I know music and this with a journey to the past, at the beginning, prologue, etc, should be known more than that!

This music, that scene..
"Hearing your laughter once again I hear my Nicky, your dear father. But you have the beauty of mother, Alexandra, Empress of Russia". - Dowager Empress
That she (the real Anastasia) did.
A beautiful, beautiful and touching score.
Saoirse Kavanagh Nicolas was such a beautiful men
Please dont tell me I was the only one who was close to crying at that part 🤣🥺
I'm 24 and I've been listening to this score since the age of 8, it keeps giving me that weird melancholic feeling every time.
Now you're 30 years Old 😀
Sameeeeeeeee I'm 21

Dowager Empress Marie: "Why the change of mind?"
Dimitri: "It was more the change of heart. I must go." *bows*

Beautiful
UGH. The last line hits me right in the feels.
It was an act of true love. 🌹
I love the way that you can hear "Journey to the Past" in this piece. It ties together the beginning and how far Anastasia's come so well. There's a contrast between that piece, a hopeful and anticipating one, to this one that reflects the changes that she's gone through to get this far.
I'M SINGING IT.😂
This is the scene where Dimitri refuses the money and then goes down the stairs to say goodbye to Anastasia, the feels😭😭
After all this time Dimitri has finally learned to love. Sometimes I just misjudge his character because at first he was like how Eugene was at first
I always love the moment when the crown is placed on Anastasia’s head at 00:40. This music captured my heart at 8 years old, I’m now 34 & I still feel the same excitement as I did back then, whenever I hear it. The power of music is truly limitless.

YES. I'm 23 now and I still cry
I can practically see her watching herself in the mirror as the reflection fades into her wearing that beautiful dress..such a beautiful score.
2:08
When Dimitri says he has a change of heart and the grandma smiles at him knowingly ❤️
I love that scene 💜
She was like, "👀 okaaayyy see I like him now."
My fav scene. Omg my heart melts
That moment were very amazing and shows that Dimitri really put Anya happiness before his own wish Anastasia should have been in Kingdom Hearts III game.
She was more like hes not the con man i thought he was.
"But you have the beauty of your mother, Alexandria Empress of all Russia"
"That change of heart." Though.
2:08 😍
The build up at 0:45, the horns at 0:59, they never seize to give me goosebumps. What an amazing score.
That's the short melody motif " home love family"from the theme song journey to the past
i love the way the music just swells dramatically when she sees her reflection with the crown on.. beuatiful
Zoe Grant it's amazing what music can do isn't it?!
I always get chills from that and I don’t know why

I am so sorry for your loss, some of my best memory’s of my nanna is reading an Anastasia story that was left at hers for me. 🥺💗
I’m sorry about your loss. I remember watching Anastasia with my dear old grandmama as well especially when I was scared of Rasputin
I cry because I associate this song not just with Anastasia, but all of her sisters. Four extraordinary women.

I haven't watched the movie in months, but the intensity of the music just brings tears in my eyes, MY GOD. THIS IS EPIC.
I know this has been said a million times before, but this piece of music is beautiful.
That moment you realise that they both had already fallen in love with each other. Dimitri was happy and heart broken at the same time.

It was such a good animated film at magic and musical
cause Titanic won it. so sad.
