Yes, cockatoos seem popular as pets around the world. We in Australia have huge flocks of wild cocktails of so many varieties. Then also the cocktails, lorikeets in many varieties. Here in my backyard I have upto 8 Rainbow Lorikeets raiding my apple tree when ever there are apples to eat. At other times I hang little seed/fruit mix bars intended for lorikeets on a branch. Rarely these bit bigger than candy bar treats last more than a day, though the last three, I did not even see any Lorikeets or other birds eating these, I only had the plastic hanger left by next day. In my neighbourhood there are some 20 Sulphur Crested cockatoos flying about these look so pristine white with bright yellow crest, and loud screech voice. Also nearby someone has some 50 Galahs, Grey and Pink colour if not familiar type to you, that are free homing, but there are also near 100 in the area. As well as the Rainbow Lorikeets visiting my yard, there are a number of Rosella's around. The various such birds in my city suburban setting are tiny numbers, compared to out in rural farming and natural forests and grassland of Australia where huge flocks of thousands can be seen flying about. Budgerigars in wild flocks can be from thousands to tens of thousands in larger flocks. There was a recent newspaper article raising a farming problem this year, where one region with grain crops have been under attack by huge flocks of Galahs, that over a large state area are estimated at around 17.5 MILLION, and control measures are being implemented to limit destruction of farm crops. By the way there is a joke going around about how to cook Galahs for dinner. "Prepare the Galah by plucking and cleaning several, spicing it liberally. Then place into a large pot of boiling water, along with some rocks. Now boil for many hours. When the rocks soften, all is ready for dinner. Remove the Galahs and discard these and enjoy eating the rocks." Seriously they are tougher than leather, not edible. On a 4WD trip I accompanied a group of trail bike riders on, one rider, ex army wanting to practice survival skills, had planned to live off wild plants and rabbits or cockatoos for the three day trip through semi desert landscape. On the second night he shot three Galahs and set them cooking overnight some 9 hours boiling. In early morning he sat trying to eat some of the Galah meat. He gave up chewing after 15 minutes and declared it too tough to chew, and had some tubers of some plant he grated and cooked for half hour. Next two nights he had rabbits for main meals. One trail bike rider I developed extreme hate for on that trip, he chased one EMU on his trail bike until the poor bird collapsed, it died over many minutes chocking on its saliva. He did get ostracised by several of the group, I had some very crude words, and then had no more interaction. One trail bike rider finished the last day riding in my 4WD after he had a collision with a kangaroo, at speed, when it jumped across his path from bushes on one side. He collided with it in mid airborne state, sending him crashing off his trail bike, and the motor bike had front wheel damage and broken handle bars/controls. The bike was loaded on a trailer towed by another 4WD. I demonstrated catching a 3ft Goanna, a large monitor lizard type, and two venomous snakes all released free again after some photos were taken. Also showed the others several scorpions, a large centipede about 8 cm, say just over 3 in, long, various staghorn beetles. Our wildlife is so great and enjoyable, animals most of which you only get to experience as exotic pets or zoo exhibits.
Thank you for taking me along . I would have loved to have the white cockatoo You are an amazing lady . I would love to live in the country. Sending you love from Seattle Marie Hugs✨✨🏘️💒 I love every single animal there . I pray in my next life I am in the country with all these beautiful souls✨✨
Hello Marie and William. Oh what fun this will be. Be sure to bring the parrots home. William dont forget your camel spit guard next time. God Bless and l love yall. 💕💕💕
Hi Marie and William love the auctions. Learn so much. The donkey was lucky you were there thankyou for caring and bring her back. Enjoy your take care and God Bless. 🙏💕
I love going to your auctions. I enjoy seeing all the different animals that they have. I pray that you brought the pregnant Donkey. She is very pretty. Than you so much for sharing. Love and Blessings to you all. Doris, Penrith 🇦🇺🦘 ❤❤❤❤🙏🙏🙏🙏
I Love Donkeys I knowI didn't see any being auctioned, but the one you wanted to buy would have also had a part of my heart ❤. Thanks for taking that nice gentle donkey 💞💗💞
Maybe you should be Random Okie Animal Sanctuary you can see how much you love all animals thank you for showing us the animal auctions much appreciated love love love your channel 🇦🇺❤️
I am glad that I don’t live out there. I would buy lots of animals if I had the property. My heart melted when I saw the cockatoo. It was so needy for attention. Something had to happen for it to pluck its feathers. They live for a very long time, are very noisy and are unpredictable. The conures were beautiful too. Thanks for sharing. Hello from Washington State!😊
There were so many cool animals at the auction, I think my favorite were the different kinds of cows, especially the ones with the big floppy ears. Thank you for sharing your trip to the auction it was fun to watch.
I think I enjoyed watching the jealous bird entertaining you today, too cute! The baby camels were adorable.and thank you for car8ng about the donkeys welfare!
Hi Marie and William. Awesome animals. The parrots are beautiful. I would have a hard time leaving some of them behind. Thank you so much for taking us along. Take care✌️🇺🇸❤️
Thank you for sharing your experience. I was thinking as you were standing beside the camels, that it is strange that both camels and horses evolved in North America, but early humans hunted them to extinction and then thousands of years later, Modern Humans re-introduced them to their homeland.
Thanks for taking us along, i loved seeing all the critters. Just found your site thanks to the Eddie family and am thoroughly enjoying watching everything you post. Thumbs up and subscribed.
So cool!!! The peacock box is a cool idea. I just wonder how many “smart” people messed with the tail, since that one is right out in the walkway, and/or stepped on it by accident during the day. Lol. But these animals are beyond amazing. Thank you.
My favorite were all the birds 🐦. The cow or whatever that animal was that kept looking up (the one you commented on near the end) was a close second 👌. Just seemed to have so much personality. I have mixed feelings about the auction because some animals there should not be in private captivity in my opinion. I won't elaborate not wanting to offend anyone because I hope their hearts in the right place anyway ❤. I'd love to see that donkey turn up at your farm 😍. Amazing to see the many camal types-just incredible!
Oh my gosh, I couldn't truly puck a favorite, seeing all the critters is always wonderful. Although I can't say they are my favorite, but I have to say, the 4-horned goats/sheep? Are truly so mysterious to me, I don't think I can even blink while you are displaying these magnificent animals. Please keep doing what you are doing, I can't get enough!!!!!Blessings to you and your family.🙏🙏🙏
That's some beautiful birds. The little monkey was so cute. So we're gonna be seeing the donkey at your place. I wouldn't know which way to go because there's so many different amazing animals. GOD BLESS Y'ALL
I have a hard time choosing I'm a animal lover myself if I had to choose I think I might go with the baby alpacas there was a white one and a brown one that were babies
Camels are so ugly they are cute. I love to go to the auction with you. I just can’t get my mind off of the little pigs you lost. I have a soft heart for animals. I hope you are working on finding the mean ones who did it. God bless . ❤
I love watching these auctions, my only complaint is that I don't know what all the animals are. I think it would help if you named the ones you know to help us know.
Cool white buffalo. The bird that kept reaching out to you broke my heart. He just wanted someone to love him.
Thank you so much for watching.
