I was there on Saturday and the longest wait for night glow as other displays were cancelled due to adverse weather….still impressive

the weather was such a pain this year tho, we went on 3/4 of the days and the only day we didn't go, the mass ascent happens haha

First and last time i went to this event was 1999 and my grandad got lost on the way home and we almost ended up in Bath, we didnt get back to Portsmouth until 1am but the event was so worth the journey sadly i havent mamaged to go back since so thanku for brining back a memory.

Last year there was talks of this one being the last one or 2024 requiring payed entry, so might be the last one with such large crowds but hopefully not 🤞
Wonder if the fee is to keep the riff raff out coz I know some traveling fun fairs had to start charging entrance fees because of fights etc

It was a shame the event was such a failure last year. I was hoping to go but every day was cancelled so I didnt. The first day had an ascent but was working. This yeear they got rid of the first day and made it a day shorter so even less likely to see any take off. I will keep an eye and if they are going to fly any balloons we will turn up. @@welcome.abroad
