Your soda bottle stopper is where the term pop came from. The bottle made a loud pop when you opened it. Looks like more snow your way.

Brad, as always, never disappointed. That is a chicken coop thermometer. I believe. They were used in the mid 1800’s. They told the farmer at what the temperature was optimal for the eggs to hatch.

Were they "Moonshiners" living up there? Thermometer, bottles and stoppers, scales for measuring etc. They were self-sustained with chickens and other animals and gardens maybe.

Hey Brad, great video! I live in Arizona and am quite sure our weather is not alike, however rust is rust. One thing I love to use on old rusty tools and Knives is a good diesel soak. Usually what we call farming diesel out here. #2? I've had pocket knives clean up so good that you could open them, with a little delicate work. I just throw them in the bucket and forget about them for a couple of weeks. Glad to see your weather is warming up, was getting cold watching you. I'm a detectorist also but primarily look for gold nuggets and pickers. Yee Haa! Thanks.

Floral design curved bar is a barrette, most likely turn of the century era. Floral tube is part (ferrule) of a vanity makeup brush same era. Since you know their name, you can look on Ancestry to look at the Census entries to find the family and profession of the adults. The 1890 Census was destroyed in a fire, but you will likely find the answers in the 1880, 1900 and 1910 Census records.

I new exactly what it was when you held it up. There are dozens of " bottle digging " channels I'm subscribed to and the term Hutch is what they use. These are rare and sometimes the stopper is still in them. Look up Adventure Archeology and this guy is in Alabama where I'm from. Good stuff like whats in your channel if your into stuff like that.

I have seen old pencils that had a cap over the Sharp end similar to pens today. I have also found a thermometer scale, it too was folded up. One of the call outs was "blood heat" at 98.7, it was from the same time frame as your site. Thanks for another enjoyable video.

The Hutchinson stopper should date roughly 1880 to 1915. You really need to expand your horizons Brad and obtain a bottle probe, all those home sites you hunt will have one or more privies which in those rural settings should be relatively easy to find, undug and un-dipped!

OK there all Baseball Caps but of many different colors.🧢 Blue was the only one I had to pick from but you get the picture. And you are right about Metal Detecting you never know what ur gonna find. It is kinda like a Box of Chocolates. You got ur nuts, ur caramels,ur orange cremes, toffees etc. On the inside of the box they put that map tellin you where the nuts are in case you’re allergic. Don’t let Bentley eat too many chocolates it’ll ruin his Dinner. Have a pleasant weekend and stay safe.
