So funny to read your comment because we did have ESPN and were pretty rabid Sports Center viewers but for some reason, my dad made a point of watching the Sports Machine on our local ABC affiliate every Sunday night at 11:30 PM. Looking back, I think it was George and his style and presentation himself who appealed to us. Wow, what I'd give to end another Sunday night watching that with my dad again 🙂

Loved.. LOVED.. this show. As a kid living in Arlington, I watched it on WRC from the early days as if it was my new religion. It's actually one key reason I ended up working in sports media.
