Wow. serious set up there. Very clean install also. Do you have a very active pit? I love that battery back up system. please do video on that! I've got a generac 11kw back up gen for the house but I worry that may fail to start and my house would flood.
See this video: ua-cam.com/video/bQQu8ugYKos/v-deo.html That is at the old house, but I go over the battery backup system. So far, the pump at the new house only runs when it rains... But this Spring we will see what happens when the water table rises. I left room to install another pump if needed. ;)
All looks perfect and neat, just one little flaw...you should swap ball valve and union...so you can close supply line and release union For servicing of pump🤓 do you use accid batteries for ups? Any vapors during charging? I am in progress of system designing 😊
@@WolfTronix roger that, in my experience I have never replaced the valve but have many times for need to close pressure without shutting down of main .....not only water😁 and than unmount "appliance" For service.
@@WolfTronix very nice system, do you have estimate for entire project? Just equipment and materials you have used? As I see you use zoeller 120V pump and full auto monitoring to switch on battery source....
Ballpark figures from memory: $200 for the RB750 pump. $250 for the zoeller pump (it came with the house). $100 for all the fittings, check valve, arrestor, valve, copper pipe, PVC pipe etc... $50 for the radon mitigation cover. $100 APC 2200VA UPS (used on eBay). $100 group 24, 12V 75AH gel cell [x4] (these are retired from my electric truck). Looks like $1000 total for the setup I have. The video description has a link to all the in progress pics.
This is the smallest pump they make (they make larger ones), but they are less efficient. So long as it can pump out water faster than it comes in, that is all that matters. ;)
Is that a real water hammer arrestor or just a stub pipe filled with air. A pipe filled with air WILL fail. The air will simply diffuse into the water and disappear.
It's a good idea to give these water powered backup pumps a little "exercise"" every month or so. I know a few people that have had this type of pump stick on while they were away for an extended period. Although this failure mode doesn't cause any flooding it will make a big dent in your wallet to pay for the water and sewer charges when this water powered pump runs for a month or more. Here is a link to my video about exercising your water powered sump pump. ua-cam.com/video/upCDEbidxJk/v-deo.html
Awesome setup and very cool install!
Dam dude...wish you were my neighbor...thats a set up...
Why do you need such an elaborate battery backup if the water powered pump is installed?

That union is for replacing the ball valve and water hammer arrestor.
The check valve is also a union for replacing the pump and check valve.

The batteries are deep cycle marine gel cell lead acid.
They don't release any vapors during charging or discharging.

Very nice set up but did anyone think that it pumped out slow?

Yeah it's a real water hammer arrestor, PPP SC-750, 3/4" NPT, Threaded
Is this better than Liberty SJ10? What is your water pressure?
This is the only water powered sump pump I have ever installed...
So I really can't compare it to another one.
Our water pressure is around 50PSI.
