So let's know about the film "Haathi Mere Saathi". But first of all it is important to tell you about that haunted bungalow, because if that bungalow had not been there, perhaps this film would not have been made. Yes friends, the wonder of that bungalow is the story of which is incomparable.
That Bhoot Bungalow became a big reason behind superstar Rajesh Khanna signing this film. Bandra is a very posh area in Mumbai where big film stars and businessmen live. In the 1950s, there were only a few bungalows on Carter Road. In which Parsi people lived, in the 1960s there was a famous bungalow called "Aashiana". Which belonged to musician Naushad. There was another bungalow near Ashiana, dilapidated, dilapidated, Veteran film journalist Ali Peter John had written in one of his articles, "People of that area used to call that bungalow as haunted house, i.e. ghost bungalow. Used to say." It was said that strange sounds were coming from that bungalow. No one wanted to buy it. Therefore its price was also reduced considerably. Then Rajendra Kumar's eyes fell on him. Rajendra Kumar made up his mind that he would buy this bungalow. BR Chopra's film "Kanoon" was about to start, one or two more films were also starting. Rajendra Kumar said that I will not work until I get all my money in advance. BR Chopra gave ninety thousand rupees cash to Rajendra Kumar. Rajendra Kumar bought that bungalow for sixty thousand. When Rajendra Kumar told this to his actor friend Manoj Kumar, Manoj Kumar said, get the puja done, if any bad trouble happens, it will go away. As per Manoj Kumar's instructions, Rajendra Kumar got the puja done, set it up in the bungalow and shifted. Named the bungalow Dimple after his daughter. After that Rajendra Kumar's films started becoming more hits. In true sense, after that he started being called Jubilee Kumar. Along with Rajendra Kumar, many people in the film industry believed that along with his own hard work and ability, the bungalow also played a big role in his success. Because this bungalow proved lucky for him.
Rajesh Khanna, the lead actor and superstar of the film "Haathi Mere Sathi", loved the sea very much. He was very fond of having his house near the sea, in front of the sea, this bungalow was like his dream house, Rajesh Khanna made up his mind to buy this bungalow from Rajendra Kumar, but for that he had to pay a huge amount.
Friends, in those days, South producer MMA Chinappa Devan had reached Bombay from Madras. He wanted to make a film made in Tamil in Hindi and wanted to cast Rajesh Khanna as the hero of the film. And was ready to give a huge amount to Rajesh Khanna as signing amount. Rajesh Khanna had to buy Rajendra Kumar's bungalow, so he needed money. He took money from the producer.
Friends, let us tell you, in those days Dheeraj Kumar was shooting with Rajesh Khanna in a film "Tyaag". This film was delayed. Released after many years in 1977. Well, its shooting was going on in Mahalakshmi's famous studio. Dheeraj Kumar had told that in those days everyone in the film industry used to talk that Rajesh Khanna had taken a signing amount of five lakhs. This was a huge amount at that time.
Dheeraj Kumar had further told that during the shooting, uncle called me to his room one day and said, open this suitcase, I opened the suitcase lying there, the suitcase was filled with new notes.
