I confess I bought one of these Glory Altos a few years back. Bought the gray aged bronze finish. It plays pretty fine and it's even in tune with itself. However,
    a) Corks- It took about 4 weeks playing it maybe 1-2 hrs a week for corks to start saying adios.
    b) Weight- It is heavier than any alto I've ever played. You could club someone pretty hard with it lol.
    c) Pads- Most were ok but others were sticking way out of the key cup. Comically so.
    d) Neck- Screw doesn't even tighten no matter how far in it is. It's for show really. The neck has to be forced in pretty hard and while it seals...if you need to make a quick adjustment you gotta use force again.
    e) Logo- They really used Comic Sans font....like come on lol
I will say back in the 2000s Chinese saxes were not playable at all. They have gotten WAY better over the years and are actually playable. Still, it's the same story when it comes to the quality. You are always better off buying quality made used horns than buying any of these new.

The craftsman that build them do a great job considering how cheap they are.
Thanks for your review on the Glory. The flutes and clarinets fall apart even quicker.
      Thanks for watching! Scott

I bought an Eastar about 6 months ago based on Saxologic and BetterSax reviews. It is going strong, in tune, solid build, seals well. $265 new, couldn’t be happier. Would be nice to have a $2000 horn, but… Definitely not getting in my way of learning and having a GREAT time! Love your channel, thanks.

Just bought a Conn-Selmer Prelude AS-711 student alto sax as it was on a cyber Monday sale that I just could resist. Would love to hear your thoughts on this sax. I’m in my 60’s with no music background. Would love to get a Selmer Mark VI someday, but they are out of my price range for now.

Good up front review. I think the market for this horn is the young student and the parents or band director is trying to get a basic instrument with the smallest budget. Also the person buying it doesn’t understand the difference in the quality of this instrument compared to some other s. Go thing to explain is what the market rate to fix the horn will be.
Your channel is coming along nice. Enjoy your rating system. You should give out the name of your shop or some contact information. I would send you some business.

I agree with you and I see it all the time. I need to talk about my business more and will do that.
I also do work for an organization called “Band of Angels” and we get quality instruments into to hands of young people that can’t afford a nice instrument. I’m going to have the founder on the channel and we’re going to talk about what we do.
Thanks again for the kind words and thanks for watching! Scott

@@Scottsmusiccave I try to watch each video and support. I still haven’t bought my sax yet. I am looking at a yts -32 or yts-52. Any suggestions? I will admit I thought about the Jean Paul intermittent. I have heard good things about them about that brand. There are a few reviews on the JPs on UA-cam

Next time I get a Jean Paul in I’ll review it.
A yas 32 or 52 will be better quality. They are of course more expensive and since they’re older models will more than likely need work to play 100%.
I’m also working on some videos featuring affordable professional saxophones.
My business is in the Kansas City area and my shop is in my home. KC Horns.

Can you suggest a beginner Saxophone that will last me atleast 3/4 years (without need for overhauls) around the 500 dollar budget? Ive never played the instrument, ive did some research and i wanna hear your thoughts and im pretty sure i will keep playing it for a long time.

My suggestion is to find a quality used saxophone in that price range. I’m going to work on a video talk about how to find and buy a used saxophone. I’ll recommend brands as well. I’ve seen Yamahas and Selmer are usually my go to.
