Got the wan'er last Monday out of curiosity (like I need more IEMs lol) and I confirm the hype for this IEM. I love how smooth the treble is and the mid is pretty spot on, not too thin nor thick. The bass is enough for non basshead. For $20, it is a no brainer to me.
I got the Wan'er due to your channel hyping them/me wanting to check out another new budget IEM. The hype is real & legitimate! I generally dig a warmer leaning sound sig, so my daily IEMS have been 7hz Timeless (live on my desk), CA Honeydew (gaming & movie/tv watching, & BASS), & my ER2XRs were my beaters (go with me everywhere). Now, the Wan'er have replaced my ER2XR as my beaters, & yet sometimes they replace even my Timeless & my Honeydew lol. Great IEMS for sure!
I own 3 of the IEMs stated here: Salnotes Zero: Most balanced sounding, clearest detail, imaging and soundstage amongst the group (analytical and clean sounding) suitable for all genres of music, but bass could be easily drowned out in public noisy environments. So best used for indoor quiet environments. (bedroom, study table etc) Tangzu Wan'er: Warmest sounding amongst the group, most gentle on the ears (least fatiguing) very good for female vocals, and male vocals to an extent, suitable for relaxing genres like jazz, acoustic, classical and even pop, especially K-pop Girl Groups, but less top end detail for heavier and busier music genres. CCA CRA: Most fun sounding, tight and punchy bass, clean midrange, crisp and bright treble. very energetic. (more V sounding signature), most suitable for heavier music genres like rock, metal and electronic etc. Best suited for outdoor public use or even for workouts due to strong bass and treble, But vocals sound slightly farther away and its most fatiguing to listen to.
@@justomar4542 I would personally recommend the Salnotes Zero, best value for the spend, but do take care of the stock cables, it also depends on your use case what genre of music you are listening to

It sounds like the CCAs would be the ideal pick for me based on what you're saying. I'm looking for something as neutral as possible since my phone and a choice DAC would end up taking care of any bias one direction or the other (At least, I think) Though I am willing to spend a little more. A friend recommended the Mangird Tea but those are older (additionally, I don't know if they're neutral or lean towards bass or highs). What do you think; is there something cheaper that are just as good or better?
I bought wan’er after watching your iem tier list video and I’m loving it. In my opinion 7hz zero still delivers better vocal but wan’er overall blew me away

I just love the salnotes 7hz zeros. I never had a pair of IEMS that sounded that good and fit so perfect into my ears. But I am really curious how the wan'er sounds, I really gotta try em
I have both and the only *glaring* difference I could get from the two is the volume. The Wan'Er is maybe two clicks louder than the 7Hz Zero. Vocals seems more peaky(?) with the Wan'Er but clearer while the Zero kinda softens it a bit but it also makes the soundstage sound a bit more cramped. Bass is punchier with the Wan'Er but the Zero feels smoother. Overall though, I feel like the Zero caters more to the general public while the Wan'Er would sound better to those who have more discerning ears. Also between the two, the Zero is the more comfortable pair. But then again, your experience could differ wildly from mine. This hobby is after all, very subjective.
@@Jp_116 Ok thanks for sharing. I really just bought them to try em out, if they dont have too big of a difference of the zero Im probably gonna send them back, but a bit more bass sounded intresting enough to me to try them em out

@@LeBeautiful I didn't mix them. There's not a huge difference between the two, timmy's eq reduces the treble spike and adds a bit of bass. For example, the snare (or whatever that is) on Drake's song "legend" was too sharp and ear piercing for me but Timmy's EQ fixes that. Oratory1990 EQ'ed them to his own target instead of just minor adjustments. It reduces the upper mids a bit, adds some bass (more than Timmy's). Yup 7hz Zero is the Community Choice, not surprised i have one too. Back then mid of 2022 7hz zero is the best 20$ iem for months so a lot of people bought it and Tangzu Wan'er is rather late to get its hype train. Personally even though Wan'er is the best under 20$ iem right now i don't have plans on buying this maybe because it's just another cheap iem or even if it replaced my 7hz zero or maybe the Aria im just piling up my "collection", a product i might not use it anymore, like a garbage, no offense though i just want best products as long as i can buy it so i'll just save my 20$ for more expensive ones like S12 or Timeless.
I'm getting to that point as well. I've been picking up the top "cheap" IEMS just because they are cheap but I'm getting to the point where I'm just paying money to try things. I have a couple Chus, one still in box, and the 7Hz Zero is the back up to my backup. I EQ so I have my Aria SEs and Letshuoer D13s more or less EQ matched to a slightly bass boosted harmon target. I've thought about getting a Moondrop Blessing 2 but I'm not sure how much I would actually gain over what I have now for the extra $320. This is an interesting hobby for sure but I think I'm already hitting the point of best sound quality vs cost.
@@muahaha5929 that's a good idea. I think I have enough at this point that the wife won't know what's new haha. I'm not really into the whole Waifu thing but they might look cool on a shelf.
Tastes definitely change a lot when you listen to enough IEMs. IE: I thought the Meze Rai Solo was decent because I bought one when I was new to the hobby. 18 IEMs later, it sounds weird: No treble extension and odd 3k peak.
Got my Wan'er yesterday, holy shmokes how can 20 usd sound this good, some aftermarket eartips are more expensive than the whole Wan'er IEMs, big fan of them Timmy HYPE is justified. Go buy a set rn, don't even think about it. BTW, I liked the sound signature with default tips better than the JVC Spiral Dot
I only EQ so it's interesting to see people's choices. Of the options given for the fan vote, I chose the 7Hz Zero over the others because I felt it took EQ better and was less fatiguing than the Moondrop Chu. Based on a best value criteria, I'd actually say the Moondrop Aria SE or the Letshouer D13 (D13 goes on sale for less than 100 USD) because they both sound good out of the box and they take EQ very well. The Aria SE is eargasm once dialed in on an AKM DAC. The D13 is close and is a bit more detailed but a tad less enjoyable than the Aria SE IMO. The Hexa also seems great on paper and in reviews but I don't have one yet. I have a Wan'er on order (Linsoul is running a deal now), so I'm interested to see if it works better for me than the Salnotes Zero. The Zero is hard to beat at ~20-25 bucks.
@@ashwinms19 that's reallt hard to say. The Wan'ers needed burn in (something none of my other IEMs never needed), they also feel a bit cheap. That said I think they are a bit better than the Salmotes Zeros because they have a less intense treble tuning. The Zeros get fatiguing without EQ.
Amazing video, Timmy! I have my fingers crossed for a similar, higher priced award video. Really want to find a bassy iem to replace my Variations, since I find the midbass a bit sterile, as well as size is slightly too large for long listens. I'm curious about the Xenns Top, but I'm afraid they might not have the bass thump I'm looking for.
I gotta say that from my limited experience, the salnotes zero takes EQ pretty well. I've been experimenting with fixing its wonky upper treble and giving it a nice juicy bass shelf and I have gotten very satisfying results. Though it's not easy EQing treble, but I managed.
Hi, i am really thinking in buying a new iem but have no clue if i go with one of the big 4 under 40 euros or maybe somewhere in the pricebracket around €100. The thing is that i already have an older iem which is the Hifiboy OS V3 and i have no clue if that one can still compete with for instance a Tangzu wan'er orva Tripowin Olina or that kiwi Cadenza??
Honestly, for value pick i think one option that isn't getting enough attention is the Tinhifi P1 Max. Linsoul lists it permanently at 100 dollars and I think it's a killer value with solid tuning, great technicalities for the price and really just being a solid set all around, especially with EQ (Highly recommend EQ'ing it to the HBB target.). I can get why it might not be considered since a lot of people arent even aware it can be bought for that cheap, but I consider it a seriously fantastic set, especially at that 100 (less for sales, IIRC it was down to 85 during 11/11) dollar price
I just picked up the big 🐼 for £80 UK. Must say Im very impressed with how smooth it sounds. This is my first planar IEM. It does have a bit of that plasticy timbre on occasion but it doesn't bother me.
Does the Tangzy Wanier beat the other IEMs at that price range from the previous years? I love the sound of Kz es4 because of the bass, any recommendations?
so what would be the best cheap for me in australia that has really good bass an good for gaming cause i game an listen to music so what be the best sorry dont understand of vid an trying to find the best thats cheap an cant
7hz Zero, I'm in the middle of nowhere, and I can still get it, somehow(where I am is a nightmare to get something shipped, it just get lost or the shipping cost is equivalent to the product if I am shopping something)
how does it sound compared to CRA, i have been using CRA for a while now, but finds its treble extension, too much for my liking, how is the treble region of Wan er compared to CRA,. I am trying to find an iem that's as fun and V shaped as CRA without the that much harshness of treble or sibilance or something warmer and smooth. Was thinking of the following iems 1. wan er 2. tanya dsp 3. Hola 4. quarks dsp
@@shrenikoo7 wan’er is a good pick and exactly what you are after. The hola was too warm and lacked treble extension to me, not too sure on the others mentioned
In the Quarks DSP manual Mondrop mixed up the ear canal and ear drum. A manufacturer that makes something that goes into the ear(s) should not make such mistakes.
Tangzu zetian wu is basshead???!!!!! Is my unit defective or something? I categorize basshead to be around empire ears evo kind of bass. Zetian wu is way below that. In the budget CCA CRA is almost basshead or TFZ no.3.
Trance and pop genre are easy to drive. Most trance song have piercing treble, pick a smoother treble for a long listening. From the graph, I think Tangzu is better. But if you want to play around with EQ, pick S12.
@@DONBOYMAEID Very good question. The DSP is usb by nature of being a digital pair of headphones- they have a chip in them that handles the tuning and amplification. The 3.5mm jacks are strictly analog.
isnt the hexa batter than Wan-er? its techninally supeior albeit being more expensive. and considering its detail capabilties it has every right to be expensive. I just bought a sennheiser hd560s and guess what? truthear hexa has pretty much the same detail level as the 560s. its mindblowing when you think about it.
When picking IEM for EQ, it's important to use the tone generator to determine the real peaks and dips that an IEM have. The Wan'er for me resulted in the least amount of harsh peaks. The Hexa is also a great option as well if you can spare the extra money, but Hexa does have a peak in the treble that needs toning down first. So for me, though just slightly better, the Wan'er wins.
The more I watch these videos the more I’m confused ; I genuinely don’t have a clue of where to start at the insanely over saturated $200 and under price. I appreciate your insane ammount of research though bc atleast I have an idea of what wouldn’t be horrible ? Lol.

Android system won't let me copy paste, or i am not such a freaky user. Anyway i don't have them all so no matter but with all my statistical bias, this is for me 1st 2nd and 3th places: Wan er Cca hm20 Kbear Rosefinch How about that sensei?!
As someone who owns both I'd say neither one is better necessarily, they're too different to really compare to each other like that imo. Salnotes Zero has a neutral-bright tuning: makes your music sound cleaner & more detailed. You might find it fatiguing for longer listening sessions if you're sensitive to treble, and your music might sound boring on it if you want a lot of bass. Blon 03 is more of a Dark & Warm set: Has much more bass to give your music a bit more oomph and fun, which might get bloated on busier songs and make details harder to hear. They don't have a lot of treble imo: vocals & higher pitched instruments like cymbals won't have much energy but on the flipside it can also make your music more relaxing & cozy so you can listen to them for hours without sizzling. It's more about preference than anything. Go with the Zeros if you want a clearer & more accurate sound, pick the Blon if you'd rather have a more cozy & fun sound.

I purchased Tanzu after watching your review and it sounds delicious 😋
Thanks buddy.
Tastes definitely change a lot when you listen to enough IEMs.
IE: I thought the Meze Rai Solo was decent because I bought one when I was new to the hobby.
18 IEMs later, it sounds weird: No treble extension and odd 3k peak.
It's hard to believe that a $20 iem wins the under $150 category!
"Flat is truly justice." What an unexpected place to find a man of culture, lol
Got my Wan'er yesterday, holy shmokes how can 20 usd sound this good, some aftermarket eartips are more expensive than the whole Wan'er IEMs, big fan of them Timmy HYPE is justified. Go buy a set rn, don't even think about it. BTW, I liked the sound signature with default tips better than the JVC Spiral Dot
Which Tips are you using?
@@LeBeautiful default tips, they came installed with them, haven't tried the others in the pouch
@@Jazzinplayer OH WHOOPS I thought yhou said you tried with some aftermarket tips. thx
@@LeBeautiful I tied the JVC spiral dots+ they are really good with other IEMs but not with these
@@Jazzinplayer good to know. May try some azla fits or even a filter mod (just add on top) to add more bass definition.
What's you opinion of kz as 16 pro . Newly subscribed. Great content 👌
Thanks for this best value video review, which one has the best soundstage that can provide more airiness or even some depth?
Hey Giza!! Can you recommend some iem that is good for gaming(fps) like valorant, pubg etc, my budget is around 20-25usd.
Do you think the diokos are better than moondrop stellaris for treble? Fantastic video
I really agree with you about the Waner SG
The Wan'er is great. Another great one from last year is the Tin C3.
The aria is dogshit for eq, the treble is incredibly peaky which is almost impossible to fix
Which one works better for you salnotes zero or waner? And which one have better technicalities?
@@ashwinms19 that's reallt hard to say. The Wan'ers needed burn in (something none of my other IEMs never needed), they also feel a bit cheap. That said I think they are a bit better than the Salmotes Zeros because they have a less intense treble tuning. The Zeros get fatiguing without EQ.
What is the better choice for listening to guitars and maybe other instruments? Qkz hbb, waner, salnotes zero, or nicehck db3? Please help me
Amazing video, Timmy!
IE600 bro
@@TheSaniwaa Definitely one I have my eyes on! Appreciate the input:)
Keep only one award - Quarks DSP.
Best budget - Quarks DSP
Best EQ Template - Quarks DSP
quarks dsp is not the best EQ at eq. It is already pre-EQ’d and prone to audible distortion
I gotta say that from my limited experience, the salnotes zero takes EQ pretty well. I've been experimenting with fixing its wonky upper treble and giving it a nice juicy bass shelf and I have gotten very satisfying results. Though it's not easy EQing treble, but I managed.
Nice review 😁 muchas Gracias 😁
The insight is different, thanks.
This review made me buy the TANGZU Wan’er
Hope you do some review on Simgot EN series. the 500, 1000 and 2000. I think is preaty fun and powerful IEM.
Wanerrrrrrrr! Personally my fav iem under 150 is prolly olina se. Great vid !
Great review(s) as always… you bring so much knowledge to this hobby… thank you 🤘
i like the 90 stack more tbh, its more reliable and easily fit any iem
Does the Tangzy Wanier beat the other IEMs at that price range from the previous years? I love the sound of Kz es4 because of the bass, any recommendations?
which is best for multiplayer gaming?
How is the soundstage on the WAN ER SG ? Would it be good for gaming ? Footsteps and locate enemies ?
Yes I was able to hear the footsteps and the enemy was inside my house. 😂
I use it as a sleep headset. Wearing feel really comfortable
Should i buy warner 3.5mm or usb type c
Totally agree on the treble head award, maybe the IE200 will impress at the 150 price point
7th Supernova??? When?
I have blon 03 should i buy Tangzu wanner??
Which one is the best for pop-punk music lover?
so what would be the best cheap for me in australia that has really good bass an good for gaming cause i game an listen to music so what be the best sorry dont understand of vid an trying to find the best thats cheap an cant
QKZ x HBB 👑
IMO 7hz Zero (spring tips) is better than Tangzu Wan'er for vocals
But I agree Wan'er is really cool with EQ
is it worth it to buy AFUL PERFORMER 5?
Among the mentioned iems, I would like to know which has the widest possible soundstage.
Thank you
7:16 because a lot of people already buy 7hz zero, then why waste money to buy another one if that already good in the top 3.
thats why IMO
I love vocals
What is the best regardless of price
Tangzu wan’er or dunu titan S?
If your library is more female vocal centred then dunu Titan S is still a great choice. If not then wan'er is a balanced and easy to like iem
What's the title of the ending song really like to have it in my playlist
7hz Zero, I'm in the middle of nowhere, and I can still get it, somehow(where I am is a nightmare to get something shipped, it just get lost or the shipping cost is equivalent to the product if I am shopping something)
From what i’ve owned Wan’er is my favorite by far compared to truthear Hola, CCA CRA, QKZ HBB, Blon bl-03 and
how does it sound compared to CRA, i have been using CRA for a while now, but finds its treble extension, too much for my liking, how is the treble region of Wan er compared to CRA,. I am trying to find an iem that's as fun and V shaped as CRA without the that much harshness of treble or sibilance or something warmer and smooth. Was thinking of the following iems
1. wan er
2. tanya dsp
3. Hola
4. quarks dsp
@@shrenikoo7 wan’er is a good pick and exactly what you are after. The hola was too warm and lacked treble extension to me, not too sure on the others mentioned
Between wan'er and truthear zero, which one sounds better?
In the Quarks DSP manual Mondrop mixed up the ear canal and ear drum. A manufacturer that makes something that goes into the ear(s) should not make such mistakes.
Question: if I have sennheiser ie600 does it make sense to buy the shuoer s12 too?
I really appreciate the Linkin Park reference.

I'm surprised that the TANCHJIM OLA Bass is not on any award or even as an honorable mention.
What music do you listen guys? Give me some examples...
just in time no cap
s12 is my favourite iem of the 2022!really excited to see what we will have in this year
Tangzu zetian wu is basshead???!!!!! Is my unit defective or something? I categorize basshead to be around empire ears evo kind of bass. Zetian wu is way below that. In the budget CCA CRA is almost basshead or TFZ no.3.
I dont get it why is no one picking stuff from companys like Fiio. Like the Fiio FD1?
Bass Head- KBEAR Rosefinch
whats the background song name
hi guys
can any one say what is better for trance and pop genre ?
tangzu wu heyday edition or letshour s12 pro?
Trance and pop genre are easy to drive. Most trance song have piercing treble, pick a smoother treble for a long listening. From the graph, I think Tangzu is better. But if you want to play around with EQ, pick S12.
what is the song name at the outro? kimi ga waraaa

are quarks and quarks dsp the same??
no
@@stale_. what's different other than the port?
@@DONBOYMAEID Very good question. The DSP is usb by nature of being a digital pair of headphones- they have a chip in them that handles the tuning and amplification. The 3.5mm jacks are strictly analog.
@@stale_. oh i see. Thank u for ur reply
Surprising to see sub 50$ sets win most categories
I'm go with the David because i have chu
isnt the hexa batter than Wan-er? its techninally supeior albeit being more expensive.
and considering its detail capabilties it has every right to be expensive.
@@Gizaudio which part of the treble is harsh? 8k? 10?
Wait S12 was made first available on Amazon in 2022 though
But then again it retailed at like $170 rip
The more I watch these videos the more I’m confused ; I genuinely don’t have a clue of where to start at the insanely over saturated $200 and under price. I appreciate your insane ammount of research though bc atleast I have an idea of what wouldn’t be horrible ? Lol.
You made me buy the Wan'er and I love it, certainly prefer it over the Chu.
Best Value- 7Hz Zero (it's dirt cheap)
Best Vocal- Truhear Zero X Crinacle (this one is hard to decide, notable comparison: Wan Er, Samsung's AKG freebie)
Bass Head- Truhear Zero X Crinacle
Treble Head- CCA CRA
Best EQ Template- Koss KSC75(i know but i have to put it here for the weird profile)
Keep Only One- Truhear Zero X Crinacle (thing does everything right, square and nice, playing it around with EQ is good as well)
Best tips for Moondrop Chu?
praise for indo-fi🎉🎉🎉
what about olina se? its 2022 right?
Olina SE is very good, but it's more of a well-rounded IEM, so it sadly didn't win any specific award this year. But STILL fantastic choice.
Ada Indonesia coyyyyyy
7th Acoustic Proxima
Android system won't let me copy paste, or i am not such a freaky user. Anyway i don't have them all so no matter but with all my statistical bias, this is for me 1st 2nd and 3th places:
Wan er
Cca hm20
Kbear Rosefinch
How about that sensei?!
7 hz salnotes or blon blo-3 which is best??
@@Snickerz88 thanks buddy for your insights. What about waner vs salnotes??
