Not the ambulances in Barcelona, however the EMS personnel are doing what they can to try to get permission to use blue lightbars on the ambulances. Until then, a few units simply buy (out of their own money, I guess?) half a blue lightbar (works great in combination with the other half amber) and then simply replace the full amber lightbar when it's time to pass the ITV (the vehicle inspection that every car has to undergo in Spain periodically).
Years ago when I saw Spanish Fire Trucks & Ambulances for the first time, I was saying to myself "Why do Spain's Fire Trucks & Ambulances only have Construction Lights on them?"🤔
Sad thing is people calling sirens like this "weird" or other stupid remark, because they haven't heard a siren so effective at its job, which is alerting what is around the emergency vehicle. Oh and those people may live in countries that still use the silly unreliable wail and yelp sirens.
