6:30 In anime/manga the Childhood Friend often loses because they love the relationship that they have so much that they're afraid of breaking it by trying to advance to the next level. They want to wait until they're sure that they won't be rejected. The next thing you know they're wedged out of the way by the transfer student.
In other cases they fail because of the "you're like my sister/brother" syndrome.

That sister gives me bad vibes. She might not be alive. I just have this feeling there is something tragic going on. Every scene she has been part of seems off. and she shows up out of nowhere
It just reflects how un-aware of his world/surroundings he is; which is typical for boys that age (at least based on my son and myself. ) Unless you're in combat, situational awareness is a luxury...

From the love interest boys' perspective (not Nukumizu, I am talking about the other boys), I can agree with them on their choice. The losing girls are all airheads, somewhat mean-spirited, and not as attractive as the other girl. As entertaining as that is, I would definitely pick the other girl instead.
Also, brocon sister is a big win. With the sisters from Russian Girl and Robot Wife, we have a good selection this year.~
the first 2 episodes hooked me so much, i agree one of the best anime this season, probably my top 3 or 4 if the rest of the season goes well behind oshi no ko and monogatari, and depends on if Roshidere (Alya Sometimes Hides Her Feelings in Russian) also executes well 🤣
i dont like the anime much,ig its good comedy for people who are still stuck in the high school phase, the manga art though is absolutely out of this world, would love more artists to display such creativity

And how come every romcom has to start with some cheap romance instead of building up slowly? Not to mention the main theme is comedy. You can say the same to Konosuba, which take a lot of volumes without any clear romance decision and it's still peak lol.
@@titanten7582 Makeine is not supposed to be a "romance" romance unlike, say, Toradora or Horimiya. It is supposed to be a coming-of-age story first, with a very slow-burn romance subplot. And that's where the LN is peak - it manages to capture the essence of coming-of-age feeling quite good, all the emotions of growing up, of adolescence etc.
Yeah isn't it implied that the teacher and the other teacher who helped RMC out by getting them out of the shed that those two might be together or that they're in a Yuri relationship?
Actually I think that's misdirection. You hear the nurse at the end of one of the episodes this is a spoiler spoiler spoiler Maybe but she's apparently listening to tape recordings of the conversation that happened in the literature Club room I'm not sure how she got a microphone in there but something is going on. Now my first thought was she's an intelligence agent who washed out and now just does this thing and that's where she gets her drama kick from but what if both of those teachers are more than what they seem and not in the Yuri way? I don't I do not know the answer but he's dropping on student conversations like that is definitely not a normal thing

MC being the friendzoned loser who gets trauma-dumped on? hopefully it leans into the comedy; I'm not gonna be able to enjoy it if they try to play it too seriously.

Since the manga is just volume 1 , there are 6 volume in LN the anime will overtake manga in few episodes. I have not finished LN tho i just heard there is only a little hint of developing of romance
@titanten7582 these kinda a mild spoiler. bro these girl got dumped by the one they holding on to for many years, with an exception.... komari(im a komari faction) because the senpais are her only friends and crush she had.

However, yanami is also the first that got rejected but nukumizu confronted both of them(ex/still? Crush and yanami) while its suttle yanami has some irk and curiosity to always hang out with mc and curious to the girl she has been with. Even nukumizu who somehow lies to yanami about a give from certain girl and found her beautiful while regret saying it(probably because of yanami saying she will regect him on the first volume if he tried )
Sorry to those that have read this spoiler. But yeah the light novel( skywoodtranslation thx to them) is a fun read. I really like the design of shintaro(senpai/prez) and hakamada in the manga, they look like a dork in the anime for some reason but cool in the ln and manga.for kaju personality is good in the anime but more on the yandere side whereas in the light novel she is more caring and and extreme bro con. In the end it was a good adaptation.
I was hoping the MC picks some girl but these girls in the end.
With the premise of the show, isn't having a romance gonna break the whole point about this losing heroine and stuff.
