- Curtain raiser video on pharm d course. There are many reasons, many questions, many things remain unseen, un-discussed, on this course. This video uncovers and resolves all doubts. Doctor of pharmacy or Pharm d is a six-year course for doctorate level students. During the course duration candidates have five year of academic study and 1 year of internship. As a pharmacist, applicants will practise at both government and private hospitals. It gives a decent return on investment, as after completion of the programme, there are a lot of positions available. The eligibility criteria for the course Pharm.D is that students have to clear 10+2 from a recognized college and qualify for a diploma in Pharmacy from Pharm.D college recognized by PCI (Pharmacy Council of India). Sir , pharm d Kabhi banned nhi hoga kyoki central government se authorised course hai , and jab Pharm.D American me launch hua tha 1954 me to bhi doctors pharm d walo ko resist Kar rahe hai Phir Kuch saal lga to healthcare team waha par divided ho gya , ,,, Same Aise hi India me situation hai Kuch saal aur lagenge phir India me pharm .D Ka boom Aayega hi aayega Chahe 10 saal aur lagee.......

U can do research definitely on medicine ..but you can't do md since it comes under mci , and pharm d comes under PCI

MD is postgradution of medical branch hence mbbs is a must.
Technically u don’t need post graduation in pharmacy after Pham D as it’s five + year course so u can directly considered for phd as mbbs can do but the difference is subject available whould be one of which is taught at pharD level.

Pharm D ( Doctor of Pharmacy)
is clinically oriented course which interacts with patients directly
those who do have done Pharm D good knowledge of allopathic medications and the whole course is about 75% similar to MBBS course , this make the Pharm D doctors eligible for independant clinic practise atleast as a general doctor .
Pharm D doctors can do CMS course extra and this will give them licence to private practise .
One more thing to mention here , private doctors in India like MBBS, BDS, BAMS etc are very sensitive about their patients and get easily offended if any third party like pharmacist suggests medications to their patients , so this attitude of private doctors in India is full of ego and very difficult to change .

It depends on interest since both have opportunities in different sectors

B Pharma and phamD are a little bit different stream .
B Pharma has broader career opportunity .
Pharm D is more of hospital associated branch , more suitable to participate in clinical trials.
B pharmacy course is better for production can be called as pharmaceutical engineer.

i suggest you to not take in pharm D , since there will be long time you need to spend, better you complete m pharm and if interested further then pursue phd and join academics

Prescription management will have to be handed out to Clinical pharmacists (PharmD). The real beneficiary of the outcome is not even the PharmD fraternity, but the people of India where meagre Dr. to population ratio exist! The introduction of clinical pharmacists in the prescription chain will do great favours to the health scenario of this youthful, populated nation. The Govt., I suppose, is trying to bring out such a change. The misconceptions if any, on the part of Dr.'s fraternity is purely out of place and must be compelled to align to national priorities.🙏
