    A great LG tv with a beautiful B&O sound and design

    • @ThinkingBetter

      In consumer electronics everything is done by combining components from various vendors. LG makes good display panels and the panel division of LG has nothing much to do with the television division. Your phone probably includes a Samsung display and ICs. It’s an irrelevant topic assuming great components are chosen.

    Very nice indeed.. thank you so much for putting up the video. Given the LG partnership, is there much to identify it as B&O rather than LG apart from the styling? I'm thinking the menu setup/on screen graphics, and of course B&O's signature opening and closing 'curtains' on the screen. Personally I love the understated graphics and menus on B&O TV products - probably because I intensely dislike the garish menus found on mainstream TVs'. :-)

      The OLED panel and Web OS smart TV are the LG bits. The Sound, surround processor, stand, multi room, WiSa wireless PUC control, Bluetooth remote and setup menus are Bang & Olufsen. Unfortunately the curtains when you turn off are not there :-(. A very small criticism on an otherwise beautiful TV.
      I must say it feels like a proper Bang & Olufsen TV like the days of BeoVision 7. John

      LG will use components within its system that are from other manufacturers. There are no modern companies today that produce 100% in house when it comes to electronics.

    Am wondering if we could go back to the old days of 100+inch B&O TVs with OLED. The current avant maxes out at 85 inches and isn't an OLED panel-yeah there are probably a lot of logistical issues with burn-in and panel weight and whatnot-but B&O is a company known for its ability to smooth those out. At a price of course.

    I waited long for this TV, first when I saw the design of Eclipse I was negative shocked. Then watched this video many times and start to love it, I think live this tv looks better than on a Picture.
    It will be my next TV "Beovision Eclipse 55".
    The alu Cover Front looks boring, it will be better in Oak like on Beovision 14.

    It's a shame that the magic curtains are gone when you turn it on. Is there any B & O magic left at all?

    • @BangOlufsenManchester
      @BangOlufsenManchester  7 років тому +1

      I know, I miss the curtains too. I was worried when they said LG were taking care of the vision part but after getting Eclipse in and using it everyday my worries are gone. It very much feels like a B&O product. You have the superb OLED picture and smart functions mixed with Bang & Olufsen design, awesome motor stand and the sound is just fantastic. Plus the added bonus of Multi-Room and WiSa wireless and one B&O remote controlling it all.
      So in answer yes, I think there is plenty of Bang & Olufsen magic left in Eclipse, they have done a really good job with the LG partnership in my opinion. Thanks for watching, John.

    Hi John. I have a Beolab 19 currently connected to my B & O Horizon. Would it be worth connecting it instead to my B & O Eclipse? The Beolab 19 goes down to 20 Hz, I believe, but the Eclipse doesn’t seem to go quite that low on bass. Do you know what the lowest frequency response for the Eclipse is, please?

      Hi Christopher. I don't know the lowest frequency response of the Eclipse from the top of my head. I can find out.
      Eclipse is not as deep as BeoLab 19 but much deeper than Horizon. I have tried both with the sub and both benefit from it. You will miss the sub if you take it off the Horizon, it will make a huge difference. Try it out and see what you prefer. John
