Best part of that movie is there's no music at all, it brings the intensity to a new level! Definitely in my top 5 favorite movies a classic!
Absolutely. All throughout; It has that feeling of the calm before the storm.
@@deving9793 can you react to tthe movie city of god next youll love it i promise you..
there's a very very little bit, in the scene in the store, "what's the most you ever lost on a coin toss." but yeah, truly ominous, the choice to have almost no music is.
One of the most tense and suspenseful films ever made with BARELY any music if at all.
@@Pr0x1mo other than bass parts that's barely audible to the human ear. But yeah, no music for the most part.
@@InjuredRobot. this was one of the rare exceptions to the rule. Most soundtracks of movies enhance a scene well.
I love it when a movie subverts expectations and this one has several of those moments. Also, Javier Bardem almost turned down the role of Anton Chigurh because he felt his English wasn't strong enough and I'm so glad he finally accepted it because he is absolutely perfect in the role, no one could have done it better.
For sure, his accent makes him even scarier. One of the best villains ever
No country for old men, and three billboards outside ebbing missouri are some of my favorite films. The characters, quotes, and storytelling are timeless.
Hm. Agreed this movie is a classic. But, "Three billboards..." gets rave reviews, and ive tried watching for free twice but both times couldn't make it past 1/2 hour b4 turning it off due to lack of interest... Maybe I should suck it up and watch the whole thing sometime to see what I'm missing...
@@glenmcdonald375 you are definitely missing out on a good movie. It does start slow, but it gets really good!
Okay, u swayed me to stick it out. I watched Three Billboards... It was good. A lot of really messed up people and messed up situations in that movie. Certainly not gonna visit Ebbing, MO... but really its supposedly Sylva, NC
@@glenmcdonald375 same here I have a whole lot of films that I have never finished or started just for the lack of interest.
Chigurh makes more sense as a character if you imagine him less as a person and more as a force of nature like gravity. You can't reason or plead with gravity. You can't stop it. It doesn't feel. It just is. All you can do is avoid running afoul of it and hope for the best.
this. it's all about the inevitability of cause and effect, the forces of nature, the progression of time, death, and the arbitrary yet inescapable nature of these forces
Bruh; that is str8 facts.
I also always thought Anton worked for the cartel.
This movie is based on a novel of the same name by Cormack McCarthy, probably one of the greatest modern American writers. His writing style is designed to let you flow right through his books, and any time it starts to throw a lot of detail at you it just tells your brain to slow down and pay attention all of a sudden because something important is happening. He usually has to tell his editors to undo 'corrections' because the way he writes isn't technically grammatically correct, but he writes them that way for a reason and it works with his formula.
The content of his books are all about the nature of evil. This one in particular is about how evil has become a whole new kind of monster, and the sheriff just feels like he's too old to evolve and keep up with it. Blood Meridian, and The Road are also really great novels by him, the latter got a film starring Viggo Mortenson.
@@WolfHreda One of the bleakest, grimmest, most depressing movies I've ever watched.
Winner of 4 Oscars including Best Picture.
Javier Bardem plays a hitman hired by the Mexican Drug Cartel to find a missing briefcase containing $3 million dollars, and is hellbent on finding it and will take down anyone that gets in his way.
Now that's a banger! 🔥🔥🔥 and welcome back to Stephanie
Snack and react!
The sheriff's dream explains the title in a way. Also his observation that he doesn't think he's a lunatic is sharp because a lunatic is not xalculated, menacing and evil.
I had been meaning to watch this movie for so long. Seeing that you had a reaction up for it made me sit down and finally watch it! Great movie and fun reaction! Snack & React
Another good reaction
This movie is a 10 for sure 👌👌
There were a a group of psychologists that had around 400 movies to pick the most realistic portrayal of a psychopath and they all chose Anton Chigur. Several had dealt with people who were just like him. By the way, the weapon Chigur uses is a "captive bolt gun" which is used for slaughtering cattle.
Crazy flick... see ya back on that tag team blast.. I bet u I never forget that ish again lol
I can already tell this is gunna be a good one haha, Let's gooooo!
Snack and React definitely.
No Country for Old Men is just brilliant.
Man the Cohen brothers are geniuses.
Thanks again for the reaction!
You rock Devin G!
Whoop-whoop!
Shout out from Salem Oregon cottage street!
I love your channel,
Great reaction. Happy New Year to you both. Keep bringing it Brother 👊
Yo love all your videos man! keep up the awesome content.
Love seeing you do movies with your girl. Gotta have her on more often!!
Love the new format. Also love snack and react 👍🏽
I love your reactions Devin- you are such a joyful and positive guy 🥳
A great flick. Thanks for reaction. ... and, OH MAN... forgot birthday AND guessed 10 years too old??? You stand a better chance trying to hide out from Javier Bardem right now! Good Luck!
THE LACK OF MUSIC MAKES THIS ONE PHENOMENAL IN MY OPINION. RAW REAL SOUND. BRILLIANT.
Yo, thanks for another great reaction. I missed a few and am catching up. For some reason, the notification bell was unclicked. I don't know how that happened but have heard it of it happening sometimes. I didn't think anything of it at first because I knew you had said awhile back that you wasn't feeling good, but after awhile I thought something was up because I know how loyal you are to your fans and wouldn't go that long, sick or not, without dropping something. I'm back on track now and I'll catch you on the next one.
great Reaction one of my fav movies me and my pop watch it a lot. the ending dream story to me always was for him saying Tommy lee jones time is drawing to a close and is about to join his father in another place where his father is waiting that is just me
Yeah, his father has gone ahead to light the way & will be there when he arrives.
Classic! “CALL IT!!” 💪😂
Appreciate your input on the movie :-)
I'm also liking these two-person reactions.
This movie is FIRE
I can't wait until you eventually do The Book of Eli. That's (in my opinion) one of Denzel's best films.
I woke up today wondering if you had reacted to this. Nice
The original ninja turtles from 1990 is free on Netflix right now. You should check it put if you haven't seen it already.
Good one bruh I been said you needed to check this one 💯👍🏾
My favorite movie ever. A masterclass in filmmaking at every level. Not a single second of soundtrack music. The Coen Brothers are just too good.
Excellent react, good movie choice to such a classic! 👌🏾
One of the Coen Brothers best. If you haven't done Fargo yet, it should at least be on your radar for one of the best all time classic movies. Great reaction!
Cheers!
Been watching your reactions for a while now. I subbed for this one! ❤️
Another movie that you might like is Hell or High Water. Its part of a trilogy of New American Westerns, of which Sicario was the first.
Snacks and Reacts rolls off the tongue better.
I love this movie!!! Great acting!! Great reaction! Great reactors :)
What a great movie to react to! Can't wait for the couple's channel! And I like "Snack and React" 😁
I’m so happy your watching this gem. This movie is elite film making
I can't count the times I have watched this movie. Amazing! I realize something new each time I watch it.
You guys look like a beautiful couple...you can tell that you are each others best friends....Cherish the time...every second you two spend together and goes by is like a diamond lost forever...and you are only given so many of those seconds by the creator.....My wife passed away in 2014 and I miss her company so much....Thankyou for your great reaction together that you shared with us
I dunno how many other people suggested this but I know I did in the comments of the "Sicario" review. I want to add a few things. One, thank you for taking our suggestions with what is arguably one of the best, most suspenseful movies ever made. Two, I suggest coming back and watching it a few more times with a break in between each. The reason I suggest this is because each time you will continue to notice little nuances that you didn't see before. You notice how there is almost NO music through the whole movie. You see details in Brolin's character as he develops. You begin to ask yourself questions. You begin to analyze. This movie is one of VERY few that will occupy a lot of real estate in your head.
Edit: A long running theme in "No Country" is fate and how your choices can change your future for both the better and worse. And I'm not sure if you've seen it or not or possibly done a review on it already but if you haven't, check out "The Wrestler". Mickey Rourke's best movie, bar none. A true tear jerker, too. I am not above saying I get quite misty in the end.
A Mickey Rourke note: the Wrestler is a very good movie. Worth checking our or reviewing and was his "comeback" movie after being blacklisted for passing on Hollywood and its lifestyle... But, as a Rourke fan I'd say his earlier work outshines the Wrestler. Angel Heart is proby his best. Diner, and Pope of Greenwich Village gets honorable mention, and the Barfly is an odd movie, but a cult classic. Imo
Yo yo yo happy new year!🎆🎊🎈 hope your feeling better.
Sugar is one of the best bad guys I have ever seen in a movie. Great review guys!!
You make a great couple. I forgot all about this movie and was landed to see that you'd reacted to it. I really want to see you do 'The Equaliser 1 + 2', especially after seeing your 'John Wick' reactions. Big love and support from Wales.
Comment for the algorithm. Love the content D.
Y’all are a beautiful couple, great video as always
I live near where they shot most of the movie. I remember coming across the pharmacy set (which was an office supply store IRL), the hotel, and border crossing (an interstate overpass IRL).
One of my favorites. Thank You for posting.
Great movie to react to! It’s actually an interesting thought. Who hasn’t imagined what they’d do if they rolled up on what was seen there!
This is a great movie.
I’m glad you guys enjoyed it.
I was working at Cinemark as a Projectionist when that was still a thing, I will always remember how pretty much no one came to see this first off. I also always laugh at my favorite part at the end when the movie ends, I can't tell you how many times I got a laugh out of the bewilderment of the few people that came to watch this movie, looking at each other because the movie simply ends. I worked Box Office as well and had people that complained about refunds because of it as well Haha, I love this move and "There Will Be Blood" Both released at the same time, it was amazing looking back, I had the privilege of being able to handle prints from both of films those films to show.
AYEEEE DEVIN AND THE MRS!!
UH oh someones in the doghouse
NOT TEN YEARS OLDER LOL
Happy new year keep killing it
Glad to see you feeling better.
One of my favorite movies and I like your videos 😎👍
That quarter toss scene in the service station always gives me chills.
I go from reaction channel to reaction channel just for this movie and this is my first time seeing your channel. That says something, right?
This story is based on a novel written by Cormac McCarthy. One of the best American writers of our time.
This is such a great movie, I didn't end up watching this movie for quite some time after it came out. Definitely one of the best movies I've seen. Glad you enjoyed this movie, Devin! If you liked this kind of movie, I'd highly recommend, "The Road." It's by the same author that wrote the book that this movie is based on. Keep up the great content! Oh, Snack & React!
Love your reactions DG
Devin, you need to keep bringing your lady for more reactions!
Also, look into "Hell or High Water" another good modern western.
I agree, Woody Harrelson is a good actor. You've gotta check out, Out of the furnace, with Woody and Christian Bale.. Woody is a real badass
DAYUUUM hahahaha when shugur bust into the hotel. Haha cracked me up
A *Natural born killers* reaction as a couple would be amazing to see since it's technically a "love story"
This movie includes: Tommy Lee Jones, Robert Downey Jr, Woody Harrelson, Juliette Lewis, Rodney Dangerfield, Tom Sizemore, Ashley Judd
a movie that will move your heart LEGENDS OF THE FALL i think you both will love it
I got so tense watching this their dog coming up behind them in the real world made me go, "Watch out! Oh, wait... that's real life not the movie. Thank goodness." That's what I call getting into a reaction video.
Man I'm a big fan of yours. Be awesome to see you do a reaction to "The A-Team" or "The Losers"
2 of the most underrated movies ever
Damn Devin you woulda just ran with that money haha! Your lady friend is smart and a keeper!
Your lady with this? Dayum dude. Gonna be interesting.
I get put in the doghouse frequently. Don't feel bad bro, haha. Hi to your Lady, I been watching Dev awhile now, will be my first time watching him with you. Such lovely company for him :)
Great reaction as always big dawg! I’d recommend checking out Brawl In Cellblock 99 and Desperate Measures and Running Scared(Paul Walker) and The Wrestler and The Founder and The Burbs
The assassin was scary as hell, he even killed people that hired him lol
They didn't hire him. He worked for a higher authority, and eliminated the incompetent management that mishandled the botched deal in the first place.
Please be happy together forever fuark you're thebest Devin, you react to the best movies and have the best takes and she seems real nice, i wish the best for you two for real
Snack and react for sure! Oh and make sure you add “The last castle” to your watch list, I don’t want you to miss out on a good Military Prison movie! Take care DevinG
I love how it had absolutely no music in it.
Hey Devin I love the couple reactions
Coen Brothers are Genius!! 🔥🔥
REDBELT
A really good Tommy Lee Jones movie is The Hunted also starring Beniceo del Toro.
You two are legit beautiful couple
That warms my heart you guys are legit beautiful couple
After I saw your reaction to "Warrior" I saw it on Netflix direct after.. Awesome movie 👍👌🔝 If you like Samuel L Jackson, then react to the movie "Long Kiss Goodnight" 👍
Long Kiss Goodnight great movie with Jackson but lets not forget the sexy Geena Davis in that movie!!!
Javier Bardem deserved his Oscar for that kind of performance as a psychopathic manhunter with no conscience, no mercy, and without sympathy - driven purely by his evil black hearted obsession with being the harbinger of death for others. Brilliant
I love how you call her love, my baby’s name is beautiful. lol
The two of you are cute together. I enjoy your reactions.
Easily one of the best movies ever, No Country for Old Men was an intense viewing for sure!
Happy New Year! So happy to be back!! Hope you guys enjoy!
You guys' might hate this comment, but I like "Snacks & Reacts" the best! You should seriously considerate it. It phonetically sounds the best, plus it's a combination of both your ideas that you came up with together so it's a true couples creation :) Anyways, that's my 2 cents, and looking forward to the channel either way
Don't feel too bad Devin, I have been with my partner for 8 years and I had her birthday wrong on my Grandparents calendar for at least 2 years! 😁
Devin G : I'm in the dog house right now
Me in my Frisco voice : Don't start no trouble brotha
Speaking of Frisco can you react to "In too deep" if you haven't seen it already???
that air gun is a captive bolt air pistol used to kill animals pigs cattle ect at slaughter houses
Was it all three main characters living three separate lives whose paths just crossed one day? Maybe it could be one main character with alternate personalities lol 🤯 Good show you two keep up the great work.
Im pretty sure I read somewhere that Doctors of Psychology rated him the best played psychopath of anyone ever. Hannibal Lector was a very close second.
Years back, psychiatrists studied some 400 movies to find the most realistic Psychopath, our boy here in the movie Anton turned out to be the most realistic
Great choice. This movie threw me for a loop.
Devin, you nailed it. You said that Chigurh was psychotic. The American Psychology Association said that the Character, Chigurh, was the best example in films of the true psychopath.
Only movie I know of where the three main characters never meet face to face on screen. Excellent movie.
So ready to watch this
The first dream was the sheriff's way of grieving over not being able to locate the money or help.
The second dream is his way of letting go and moving on with his life. When Indians used to travel in the snow at night the elders would ride ahead because they knew the land better and they would carry embers from the last fire inside an animal horn. So he was taking comfort in knowing that soon he will be with his father again and won't have to try to make sense of a world he no longer understands.
And then he woke up.
That was beautifully stated.
That was a pretty good analogy
@@amandaasbury3688 Thank you for the kind words.
