Out of them all, I liked Scarlet Devil Mansion the most. Just so much to explore and see in that place. Have fond memories of it when I played on LazyPurple's Friendly servers.
To this day the closet exposure I have to Touhou is Ronald McDonald Insanity which is just a glorified YTPMV of "Owen was her" and the copious amounts of "Bad Apple" videos. I don't know if I'll ever check it out but I can agree that the music is great from what I've listened to.
peak has been uploaded. time to watch. i love seeing crossover between tf2 and touhou, my first exposure to touhou was unknowingly through crossover comics made by that guy who represented himself as a purple tentacle in them if he was to appear to talk to his female engineer characters back in 2013. i actually played it years later in when rewatching Bad Apple in 2019/2020 and thinking "these characters are from a game, right? ill look into that." then i bought Ten Desires because it had Youmu in Steam, played it, then went to Moriya Shrine for some of the more iconic ones. then i bought a Sakuya, Tenshi, Youmu and Yuyuko (my favourite character) Fumo and i needed little else in life. so, my point is that unlike most Touhou fans, i have played the games. (never 1CCed one above easy though )
Once you get exposed to the franchise, you will notice that it's everywhere. I have played most of the games, just never have beaten the main line games because I suck
@@trash-bot8k8000 i had that same realisation, it was bizarre realising that the majority of random anime girl appearances on the internet were all from this one property. that touhou virus was another funny example of something i heard about but didnt make the connection until years later. i wish more fans had at least tried one of the games, expecting them to 1CC Medium+ them would be too much. for now we can just admire the gods amongst men with the skill.
@@Prince_Of_Fish It's a funny feeling when you realize that some of the TF2 memes you see were parodies of Touhou and I really do agree on the games part, you can find them for free on Moriya Shrine so you don't really lose anything. While I have only beaten some of the fighting games, I really enjoy the official mangas, as they're really fun to read, so I would recommend reading some of them as well
@@trash-bot8k8000 I keep telling myself I will do that sometime, that KamS animation about the manga where the Scarlet Devil inhabitants made it seem interesting. its funny that you mentioned that manga in this very video. i recommend watching some of KamS' stuff if you havent, i think what hes going for in most of them is Touhou horror, which is always a treat.

I suppose it being a fanservice to another game series would make sense for it being played frequently. I had no idea any of these were Touhou maps. perhaps I ended up playing on forked versions that didn't have the touhou doll/image references in them.
It was a surprise to me as well with the Hakurei shrine. All of these maps shown are from Touhou and easily one of my most favorite maps i've ever covered on this channel
After many years playing, I have never seen so many fandoms come together to expand the universe of TF2. I come to respect them all, some may have “bad apples” but they don’t make the bulk of the fandom
Touhou fandom especially has major influence on TF2 content, as there are many parodies of parodies and then in most popular gmod animations, there tend to be constant use of Touhou music
